Description

Eliminate the mess caused by decaying leaves each spring. Install a dirt defender leaf net over your winter cover this fall and make spring opening quick and easy. The leaf net's tight mesh traps even the smallest leaves before they reach your winter cover. Other brands of leaf nets have larger mesh that allows small leaves to pass through to your winter cover and decompose in the spring. Simply lay the dirt defender leaf net on top of your winter cover when you close your pool and remove it before the first snow. Your cover will be virtually leaf free and spring clean-up will be a snap. Eliminates that messy swamp of decaying leaves. Dirt defender leaf nets are made from durable woven polyethylene and carry a 4-year . Above-ground leaf nets have an extra 4-feet overlap and include a cable and winch to hold it securely in place over your winter cover. Black mesh fabric.

  • It works as anticipated
Size: 16 by 32-Feet
Order arrived ahead of schedule and was as others have said, small netting size with good edging. I was very happy with the quality and wanted to put it to the test. I live in Florida and my pool is exposed to the element, with no screen enclosure. I have just the net over the pool and it has been through 2 pretty strong winter storms so far (in Florida winter storms have high winds and heavy rains), the net did as I expected, no leaves got past the net and into the pool. Our neighbor has an enormous rain tree which sheds a ridiculous amount of leaves this time of year. I bought the net because I would come home to my skimmer being clogged with leaves and my pump struggling to get water flow. Since I added the net I have no problem at all with leaves clogging the skimmer. I feel the net will last several seasons for me, obviously there is no way for me to say how it would perform further north. I would buy this again, if I need to, and do recommend it for those in my similar situation, I now have piece of mind when I leave my home for a few days R & R. You can see by the picture I need to work on a better solution to hold the net in place but I wanted to test it out before I spent a lot of time and money on weights. The picture is after I cleaned 5+ pounds of leaves off from last nights storm (that storm lasted over 20 hours and had 50 mph winds with 4" of rain which overflowed the pool). Our pool is 14' x 35' and we bought the 16' x 32' size since it said it was 4' wider than those dimensions and it fits well, the width is a lot wider than the pool but you can see I just rolled one side up and weighted it down. ... show more

  • Great leaf net for the pool
Size: 20 by 40-Feet
Living in GA, I don't cover my pool for the winter but have a ton of trees around the pool. Fall was back breaking and time consuming last year fishing the leaves off the bottom and cleaning the skimmer baskets multiple times per day. I bought this net to sit on top of the pool to catch leaves and keep them on top of the pool instead of either in the skimmer or sinking to the bottom which it effectively prevented. My Polaris wasn't clogged up with leaves each day either! Instead of pulling the net off, I just skimmed the top of the net for the leaves. While it took me about 20 minutes to skim once a week, it was a fraction of what it took without the net trying to get leaves off the bottom. Not having to reach into the baskets a bunch of times per day was an added bonus. Once the rest of the leaves are down, I'll pull the net off and store it until next year. It does allow smaller debris and pine needles through. That isn't a deal breaker for me since I really wanted it to just get the bigger leaves, but something to consider before purchasing. I haven't pulled the net off an inspected it, but I haven't seen any major tears, so I'm hoping to get a few more seasons out of it! I definitely recommend the leaf net and it's been a great addition to our pool! ... show more

  • Works great!
Size: 16 by 32-Feet
I used the for a slightly different purpose. I have a tree that drops leaves early in the season (mid Aug) and it can be quite a chore to keep the pool cleared out all week, to use on the weekends. I took this net and suspended above the pool by attaching to the fence. The picture shows just after installing it, which took minutes. I have had it on now for about a month and it has been fantastic to keep the leaves out of my pool. This will surely save stress on my pump. It's been easy to unhook (used bungies) and fold back to use when we want to and if your just getting in for a quick dip, you can swim with it on (see picture). Since the leaves are dry, they are easily shaken right off the top. ... show more

Size: 20 by 40-Feet
Every spring and every fall were nightmares with my swimming pool due to leaves falling into the pool from my neighbor's gigantic tree. No more! This wonderful net saved the day as well as hours and hours of skimming. When the leaf dropping season begins, I just throw this over the pool and use a few bungee cords to hold the corners and sides. Whenever I want to swim, I simply undo the few bungee cords roll the net over to the side and jump in to swim. When I am done, I roll back the net and let it catch the leaves again. The other good thing is that my Polaris pool cleaner is not impacted by having the net on top of the pool. Therefore, I can keep the pool and filters pristine. This net is well worth the money. I only wish I discovered it years ago! ... show more

  • It does the job
Size: 20 by 40-Feet
A permanent, sexy solution would have cost us north of $1000. We are not those people. For the $116 dollars it cost, it is wonderful. The net itself is flexible in one dimension, so it makes it forgiving on corners. It does come with eye bolts and ready for a more permanent installation, but since we live in Texas and have a heated spa, we don’t want the permanent features of the net! I know the bricks holding the net are ugly, but ugly works! We bought the 20X40 net and have a 15X40 pool. Now, I would consider buying 2 smaller nets instead because it makes putting the cover that much easier. ... show more

  • Wish we had this last year
Size: 20 by 40-Feet
Our backyard has 4 large oaks and various other fruit and large leaf trees. November to April last year was rough constantly cleaning the pool and emptying the skimmer almost daily. We bought the 20x40 net which gave us around 6 feet overhang around the pool. We secured the net with dual water weight tubes and it has held it very well. We put this on in November and after about a month and a half we skimmed the leaves off the net and there was almost a half a trash can full. The net seems to be in good shape, no tears. Our pool filter is probably happier than we are as it does not have to work as hard. We can actually go away for the weekend and not worry about the pool. ... show more
