It’s a simple toaster, nothing unique or fancy. That only thing I don’t like is that if you need to pop the toast out sooner, you have to spin the dial all the way to the left, which then ruins your roasting setting. Overall though it gets the job done

The media could not be loaded. It's a beautiful design and looks great on my counter. It does have some odd quirks. If you want to pop up the toast before the toaster is meant to finish, you can't just push the handle up like some toasters. There is no button to press. You have to turn the toast level knob down past low. You'll feel a switch engage, and that pops up the toast—such a weird and kind of counterintuitive design. The slots are nice and wide and would easily fit a bagel or a slice of Texas toast. It has a nice feature where if you have something that doesn't stick up past the top of the toaster, you can lift the handle higher, and it will raise the food a bit more so you can grab it (perfect for something like an English muffin.) The only issue with this is that the toaster itself is fairly light and lifts with the handle unless you hold it down with your thumb on the very front of the machine. Luckily the toaster is designed so that that part of it doesn't get dangerously hot, just slightly warm, and I don't see it ever being an issue unless you cook a lot of things in the toaster back-to-back. An important thing to note is that it leans toward darker toast. If you put it at 6 you'll get pretty dark toast, and I can't imagine anyone wanting it any darker. The browning is also not even at all, which even expensive toasters rarely get right, so I can't ding it for that, but it's worth noting. It's a good quality but cheap toaster. This Black+Decker two-slice toaster is very lightweight and it has a nice slim design. The toaster slot dimensions are 5"×1.25" and it doesn't fit wider bread but it does fit thicker bread. There's no button to stop the bread from toasting so you have to turn the dial down to pop the bread out. If I push the lever down too hard the whole toaster tilts to the side since it's so lightweight. It cooks bread well but it's a little inconsistent in some spots. I always like Black and Decker and this toaster doesn't disappoint. It is sleek looking, very nicely finished, and lightweight. The slots are very long but the varying width compensates for this with being able to toast thinker bread, texas toast, bagels, crumpets etc. It has 7 shade cooking levels and the 'cancel' is by rotating the dial back to zero. Some may prefer and button cancel release but this is ok for us. Dropdown crumb tray for easy cleaning. All in a nice toaster with a good name backing it. ... show more

    • perfect little toaster. better than using the larger countertop oven - heats up fast
heats toast and bagels really quick, was easy to clean and once you set it for your desired "doneness" it is consistent between slices of bread or from bagel to bagel. Much quicker at getting me my toast in the morning than my bigger countertop "oven/toaster"

It has extra-wide slots so there is no problem toasting my bagels. The removable tray helps to clean up the crumbs inside the machine. There are 7 toast settings so you can get the shade you'd like.
