I haven't burned a piece of toast since having this .thicker breads take longer but not difficult to get used to the timing and how long to set it .I also like the cancel button . It also has an added feature that the handle can be lifted higher to reach down for toast that is a bit too low ...no more grabbing with a fork !! This review is for the Chefman “Smart Touch 2-slice Digital Toaster.” We’ve been using this toaster for a couple weeks now and there are pros and cons. PROS: • The controls are simple, colorful and intuitive, as in the photo. You select the color shade of toast you want and push the lever down. The controls are all at the top edge, not down the side, so they are easier to see and use. • If you have a bagel, touch the Bagel icon and insert the two cut sides facing outward. The toaster will only heat the cut sides. • There is a countdown timer (see photo). When it gets to zero, the toast pops up. You can eject any time by touching the Cancel icon. • Quality seems good. Smooth, clean, brushed stainless design. The sides of the toaster remain cool. CONS: • The unit consistently over-toasts bread. The lightest setting gives us medium brown as in the photo. There is no way to get lighter toast other than ejecting the slice early. • The unit does not toast both sides the same. One will be dark while the other much lighter (see photos). • The unit is 850 watts which is a little on the low side. It ought to be more like 1000 watts to speed things up a bit. (There is a 4-slice version at 1500 watts.) • The crumb tray slides out from the back which deters from emptying it regularly. • There is a ventilation slot around the top (see photo) which keeps the outsides of the toaster cool, but crumbs drop down thru there and wind up on your counter top, not in the crumb tray. CONCLUSION: We were going to send the unit back because the wife demands very light toast, but she’s gotten in the habit of ejecting the bread about 30 seconds early so we can work with it. Still, it’s annoying that it can’t toast both sides to the same degree. The price seems a bit steep for a toaster that doesn’t quite get it right. Generally about $60 plus tax. ... show more

I'm pleased with this toaster. It gets it main job -- toasting -- done pretty well. It's not as perfectly even as a "premium" toaster, but since I could buy nearly six of these for the price of a "premium" one, I'm perfectly happy with the evenness. The overall build quality feels decent for the price point. It has a number of very nice features, such as the bagel setting (only toasts on one side) and the countdown timer. The latter is a feature I've not had in past toasters, and it's very helpful. It fits wide slices and bagels just fine, and I've yet to have anything jam or be difficult to remove. The stainless cladding looks nice and blends well with other appliances. All in all, an easy to use, decently performing toaster at a good price (especially if you can get one on a price dip). This is a well-made, nice looking, and easy to use toaster. It does perfect bagels, excellent half slices of sour dough, and you have a nice selection of light to dark toasting. It pops up enough to remove the slices but doesn't throw the toasted slices out as though launched from Cape Canaveral. The cord is not too short as in most toasters, and even in the darkest 4:00 AM kitchen - you can see the blue light of the controls. It doesn't radiate searing heat from the outside - which means you can put your cup of coffee right next to it without burning your hand. Good quality for your money. This is a nice looking toaster at a minimal cost that goes well in my kitchen. I’ve only used it a couple of times to test it out, but it seems to work well. It has a cancel, reheat, defrost, bagel, 6 settings for darkness and a pull out tray for easy cleaning. It will toast the inside of the bagel, but leaves the outside lightly toasted. I turned it on to see if all the elements work and noticed the elements fire off in stages for an even toast. Time will tell. ... show more

the toaster is working very well so far, I like that the buttons are on the sort side so I can place it in the most convenient way on my counter. The openings are a bit small (not for long slices) but large enough for bagels. I like the chrome look although it tends to mark. so all in all , good product! ... show more

It’s okay. Feels a little cheaply made. It’s also awkwardly long lol.. IMPORTANT: If you’re using thinner bread make SURE you use the lightest setting first… the 3rd setting turned my toast black lol.
