    • Its extra wide for no reason
Yeah the openings are extra wide for toasting beagles but the machine is wider than necessary but whatever. There is a place to wrap up the cord underneath for moving or storage and the display does stay on for a few minutes after your toast pops up, I guess to stay ready for more but it does go into a sleep mode after a few minutes. I have noticed some of the heating element barely come on, I hope it was designed like that but I don't know. At the end of the day it does do a really good job of making toast. ... show more

This review is for the Chefman “Smart Touch 2-slice Digital Toaster.” We’ve been using this toaster for a couple weeks now and there are pros and cons. PROS: • The controls are simple, colorful and intuitive, as in the photo. You select the color shade of toast you want and push the lever down. The controls are all at the top edge, not down the side, so they are easier to see and use. • If you have a bagel, touch the Bagel icon and insert the two cut sides facing outward. The toaster will only heat the cut sides. • There is a countdown timer (see photo). When it gets to zero, the toast pops up. You can eject any time by touching the Cancel icon. • Quality seems good. Smooth, clean, brushed stainless design. The sides of the toaster remain cool. CONS: • The unit consistently over-toasts bread. The lightest setting gives us medium brown as in the photo. There is no way to get lighter toast other than ejecting the slice early. • The unit does not toast both sides the same. One will be dark while the other much lighter (see photos). • The unit is 850 watts which is a little on the low side. It ought to be more like 1000 watts to speed things up a bit. (There is a 4-slice version at 1500 watts.) • The crumb tray slides out from the back which deters from emptying it regularly. • There is a ventilation slot around the top (see photo) which keeps the outsides of the toaster cool, but crumbs drop down thru there and wind up on your counter top, not in the crumb tray. CONCLUSION: We were going to send the unit back because the wife demands very light toast, but she’s gotten in the habit of ejecting the bread about 30 seconds early so we can work with it. Still, it’s annoying that it can’t toast both sides to the same degree. The price seems a bit steep for a toaster that doesn’t quite get it right. Generally about $60 plus tax. ... show more

I had high expectations for this toaster, especially with its sleek touch screen and the promise of the precise toasting levels. Unfortunately, it completely fails at delivering what it advertises. The main issue? The toasting levels are wildly inaccurate. Even at level 1, the bread comes out burnt, making the entire range useless. The screen might show a nice, lightly toasted slice, but in reality, you get a charred mess. There’s no consistency, and no way to get a properly toasted slice without constant guesswork. For a toaster that markets itself as high-tech and precise, this is a major disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for reliable and controlled toasting. ... show more

I love my new toaster! This toaster is definitely an upgrade from my old toaster! I make frozen waffles a lot and always have to reset the settings on them because they tend to become soggy in some areas. Well those days are over because this toaster has a defrost setting which adds 10 extra seconds of cook time to defrost before it toast. It also has a removable crumb tray, which makes clean up super easy. I didn’t know I needed this feature until I had it! This feature makes it easier for the kids to keep the toaster crumb free. Finally no messy crumbs on the counter top under the toaster ☺️. Also the toasting features by picture is very accurate! No more having the toaster setting just right for you only for a family member to change it to their liking and ruin your whole breakfast moment 😂. You can simply press the picture of your desired toast color and it will toast to that shade. It fits in well with my other appliances and is of good quality.     • Stopped working after 15 months
Worked fine until a year after purchase and now it toasts one side of the bread super dark and the other side super light on Bread setting. I've tried adjusting all the settings and nothing seems to work.
