  • Oh it’s Big! 😃 I expected a frisbee!
Style: SpinWave Pet Robot
What a cool little helper-Bot! Since i got him this afternoon i’ve watched him tackle every floor i have; tile, hard wood, flagstone, knobby rugs, persian rugs, deep-pile rugs (these last it likes the least, but didn’t hesitate to go for it!) In mop mode it KNOWS to avoid carpet! It’s so smart but perhaps i’m just easily Enchanted! I learned that it’s weakest area is deep corners full of grit so before i turn him loose next time i’ll pre-sweep those areas into the middle of the room for him. It’s the least i can do considering what he does for me. I’m a decades loyal Bissell girl, so i’m hardly surprised how much i truly like this unit. I didn’t even download the app or pair it to wifi. This little bot is great right out of the box! I charged it for 5 hours, pressed it’s little “play” button, and off he went! Quiet, self correcting, and even smart enough to know where he’d already been! I’m sure for $1,500 i could have gotten a Bot that would serve cocktails too, but this is a working girl’s dream! For about a tenth of the price i can work all day and come home to clean floors! No cat hair tumbleweeds and dust bunnies rolling thru, cat litter and chow crumbs gone, it does a great job mopping too, has a nice large capacity for grit, hair, and mopping solution, and IT DOESNT NIBBLE AT MY CARPET FRINGE! Also, without ever pairing it to an app it has 2 tricks; you can activate it on it’s charger pad, and it will take off observing a back and forth overlapping track, OR you can pick it up and set it down on a problem area and it will spin around and suck up all the grit or spot clean the stains away. I didn’t want to go to the poor house, i just wanted help in my day and this little guy goes under chairs and bookcases, and does a lovely job. My cats are happy with him because he’s not loud, and moves slowly and predictably and it’s a BISSELL! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED! Double tap the “play” key and he’ll hunt around for his docking station, and put himself away to recharge! I recommend this unit for every working pet owner! Spend a couple hundred and come home with one LESS thing to do!!! It’s easy to operate RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX! Now, 2 weeks LATER, I’m still excited to go home every night and clean my floors 😄 and i’ve had a chance to learn Little Bissell’s foibles. He struggles on deep carpet as one would expect. What i like to do is turn him loose each night and let him brush up all the cat hair into visible little balls, and, when he toddles back to his station to recharge, i quickly saw over the area with a rolling carpet sweeper. I think of each session as an investment and it’s a FACT that my carpets and floors have never been so clean. I’m quite spoiled now. I’ve always had plenty of cats, and we tend to resign ourselves to stepping on litter grit, chow chips, and there’s ever so much hair. NOT ANYMORE! i got some nice solutions to add to his mopping resevoir, and there’s a handy variety pack of assorted brushes, filters and mop heads for this model that i also scapped up. AGAIN: NOT A PERFECT PERFORMANCE (you need to spend 2grand for that) BUT A REMARKABLE IMPROVEMENT IN DAILY MAINTENANCE, AND A PROFOUND HELP FOR AN OLD LADY WHO STILL WORKS. There are things i wish were better, but for just a couple of hundred dollars I’m THRILLED! A) I am never scrubbing my floors again! B) I am not ashamed to invite people IN! C) I don’t need to kill myself to prepare for company! D) I will never be without this Bissell! It has become as valuable in this house as a microwave! I got return on this investment the day i got it, and it’s paid for itself over and over again! What a RELIEF! I finally stopped following him around grinning over my coffee mug as he works out, but even though i go about MY business, if he runs into trouble he calls me. The deeper the carpet the more you have to clean the roller brush out. Duh! BUT It’s also less and less interrupting every day. I let this little guy run 3x/day (1 sweep cycle, i go to work, another sweep cycle when i get home, and one mop cycle over night) TOTAL GAME CHANGER! Best decision i’ve ever made for a home improvement! ... show more

  • Waste of money
Update again: Now it doesn’t work at all. Update: The solution is to put the wet mop cartridge in, let it run for a few seconds, put the dry cartridge back in and let it run. It’s weird but it works. But now I have to do this every single time I want it to vacuum. For this much money, it’s stupid that I have to jump through these hoops. Edit: Stopped working after just two months. It starts to act like it’s running, and then it just starts beeping. The app says it has “low suction” but there are no blockages anywhere. Will update if customer service ever gets back to me. This thing has made my life so much easier. I have two mischievous husky girls and two even more mischievous human boys. All four of them are known to make messes bigger than they are. This thing is ready to handle it all (without even whining if I run it 3 times in one day!) I like a clean home. It makes me feel good. But I have 4 mess makers and I use a wheelchair so it has been impossible to keep up with by myself. This vacuum mop has made a gigantic difference. It's the only one I found that actually vacuums while it is mopping. Even if I have the floor freshly vacuumed before running the mop, the furry girls will drop hair somewhere, so it is nice that this machine picks up the hair before going over it with a mop. I was worried about any mop I got just smearing wet hair all over my floor. I also like that this thing can sense the difference between hardwood floor and carpet. It never runs over my rugs or my carpet when it's on the mopping function. I have not had a robot mop before, but I have had another vacuuming robot. This is much quieter than the last one. Night and day different. I couldn't watch a movie with the last one running, but I canwith this one. And I can have it run while the dogs are asleep in the same room without a problem. I do recommend buying extra mop pads. I like to run the mop at least once a day, and then I just throw the pads in the washer when they're done. The only complaint I have, is that it doesn't usually get all the floor. It gets stuck in the bathroom, OR it skips a portion of the floor that needed to be done. I don't understand its mapping sensors. All in all, this was a great purchase. When it breaks, and I don't see that happening anytime soon, I will buy a new one from this brand. ... show more

  • Great mop and dry robot vac
This is my first mop and dry robot vac. I do own another dry robot vac (DeBot) that I'm pretty happy with but this thing is WAY FASTER than the Debot. I was excited to see the mop feature and it works really well on our luxury vinyl (wood plank look) floors. It's not a perfect thing - similar to our Debot it gets stuck under the couch - goes up to climb over the bar/legs and gets stuck inside. I'd rather it doesn't try to climb over things as it gets more stuck on area rugs and is very rarely successful when trying to climb. Wish there was a setting - no climb mode! Then it would work better. As far as a dry vac it works a bit better than my less expensive DeBot - picks up dirt as well or better but this thing is much FASTER! Cleans in half the time of the Debot. Speed should be a star criteria! As far as mopping this is my first mop robot vac. The "cartridges" are easy to change - one for dry (like my Debot) to empty the dirt out and one for wet - you add water and a small amount of solution and it has spinning washable pads. Cleans really well. Granted we don't have filthy dirty floors but we do have a small dog and we cook a lot so the machine does very well on lightly dirty floors. Haven't tried to spot cleaning for area cleaning on dirty floors. +Cleans QUICKLY. This thing is fast +Wet cleaning works well +Dry cleaning works well +Wet/dry "cartridges" are easy to change +Dry bin easy to empty/clean +Mop pads are machine washable and it came with 2 +Double click to return home works well -Have to manually change "cartridge" between a wet/dry cleaning. Would be nice if it vacuumed then mopped on its own as you need to babysit it after it's done to change it out. -Gets stuck under my couch. I don't want it to climb over things - it gets stuck. Wish there was a way to turn off the "climb" mode. Stay flat on the floor and please don't climb over things - it just gets stuck (on my couch legs) or more stuck into the rug. -Gets stuck on area rugs. Need to pick them up before you vacuum or mop -No mapping. This would solve my issue of it getting stuck under my couch. Haven't downloaded the app yet ... show more

  • It does what it says and it does it well.
I'm not going to lie. This is not a super advanced cleaning robot with excellent navigation, but it does get the job done for half the cost. I wanted only one cleaning robot - the idea of finding space to have two and scheduling two and everything was eh. I live in a 780sq foot apartment, so having both in one was a massive plus. I bought on a sale and had $120 in gift cards, so I spent $199 in all...and I'm going to be honest, it is SO worth it. I likely wouldn't have bought it at $400, though, and I would have saved up for a different hybrid with better navigation. Luckily, my apartment is rather open concept so it doesn't struggle too much. Sometimes I feel like it spends too much time in one area, but not to the point that other reviews were stating where it was cleaning the same area over and over and over and over and over. I feel like it just takes it's time sometimes LOL. I've noticed that instead of going back and forth straight, sometimes it chooses to clean diagonally, which is definitely not as efficient and it definitely gets more confused that way. It uses bump navigation and it will never learn your floorplan, but again, with an open concept, it does quite a good job if you move some bigger obstacles out of the way. You'll learn what they are from watching the robot once or twice. I don't feel like I have to babysit it and I would feel comfortable leaving it on it's own. The only thing I really dislike is that it always seems to struggle to return to the dock, so I always put it on myself. Not a huge deal to me, but may be for others. To be honest, this robot is a lifesaver for me and my relationship with my husband. I have ADHD, so I love that I can just schedule it and let it do the maintenance work of keeping up with an apartment. It also motivates me to clean as well, because as it's running, I can do the dishes or make dinner or whatever. This is a robot vacuum/mop, it will not deep clean your home, I would compare it to something slightly better than a Swiffer, but it is definitely more maintenance work than deep clean. I have it set to go off on days we're having company over and it saves us the hassle of rushing to make sure everything looks tidy. My floors are noticeably cleaner after it runs, the suction is good, the mopping is great for what it is (it has spinny pads and uses water and solution to clean) it also sweeps/vacuums while mopping so nothing really gets smeared around. You can use it to spot clean as well, but I haven't utilized that feature. For a deeper clean, you'll just have to wait for a robot maid lol. ... show more

  • Decent as a vacuum, not so much as a mop, read if you have pets!
This is our first foray into the world of robot vacuums, and based on our experience with our Bissell upright vacuum we decided to try their brand and especially liked the idea of having a 2 for 1 mop and vacuum combo. TL;DR version: Pros - vacuum does do a surprisingly decent job, even with pet hair. Phone app makes controlling it easy. Cons - the mop is a novelty item and won't clean even very light dirt. No mapping, robot can and will get stuck in random places and despite multiple runs still hasn't navigated to 2 of our bedrooms unless we pick the robot up and stick it in one - kind of defeats the purpose? Details: As the old saying goes, sometimes it's better to stick to one thing and do it well, rather than try to be all things to all people. I'd say it is definitely true in this case. I'll break this review down into 2 parts - one for the vacuum and one for the mop. First, a little about our home. It's a typical ranch-style home, built in 2021, and it's about a 50/50 split between laminate flooring and carpet. There are no stairs, and no elaborate furnishings or decor beyond what any typical household would have. We also have 2 cats. One rarely sheds at all, one sheds quite a bit. The vacuum: After several weeks of ownership and several 'runs' I have to say I'm relatively impressed by what the vacuum can pick up. It's not at the level of my full size Bissell upright, but it does a nice job of picking up visible debris (and some that isn't!) - little puffballs of cat hair, grit and general dirt, etc. it handles just fine. This robot does not have any sort of mapping and will wander all over the place. At first it appeared to attempt to run straight lines through a room, but they are an approximation (at best) and it will only get an entire room if you leave it alone and watch it make several passes over a session, often going over spots it has already vacuumed. You'll see 'swirls' all over your carpet at random where it may make it halfway through a room and suddenly veer off elsewhere even when there isn't an obstruction. Ours also seems to get stuck in places, namely around our kitchen island, where it can spend 15-20 minutes just going back and forth between the island and our refrigerator for no apparent reason. The vacuum runs anywhere from 30-45 mins on a charge, which isn't enough to get our 1600 sq ft home. That would be fine if it went to a new area the new time you fired it off. The only way our back bedrooms get cleaned are if we physically take the robot to those rooms and start a session - so if you are at work and use the app to have the robot clean your floors, don't expect it to get to every room, and some rooms it won't ever reach. If we purchase another model down the road we will be looking to get one with mapping which we hope would solve this issue. One more thing to note is that if you have pets, you'll only get 1-2 cleanings out of the robot before you'll need to flip it over and clean the fur out of the beater/brush bar. You'll know when this needs to be done because the vacuum will begin leaving 'strands' and clumps of pet hair behind on your carpet, where the brush has spun it into a ball but is too clogged to pick it up. The mop - this was either a joke, or a very poorly engineered attempt in order to get sales - either way, do NOT buy this robot thinking it's capable of mopping anything up except your wallet. Even on the wettest setting it won't put down enough solution to loosen or actually clean anything - even after a 45 minute session the reservoir is typically 80% full and the mopping pads are barely damp. Also, if there is ANY hair at all on your floors, from pets, people, etc, the tiny roller between the pads will find it and stop rolling. Get a $7 mop, a $3 bucket, your cleaner of choice and your 6 year old will do a better job on their worst day than this thing does. ... show more

  • Affordable & effective robot vacuum/mop with better privacy
Style: SpinWave Pet Robot
After we read a bunch of online reviews, this floor cleaning robot stood out for strong scores in mopping performance and in privacy combined with a really good price. The list price is on the high side, but the product is routinely discounted, so look for deals. When on sale, and given that this robot is surprisingly effective, it's a killer bargain, and you could even buy separate robots for different zones, rooms, or floors of your place. This is a wet/dry floor robot, so you swap out a module in the back to change between wet and dry modes. It automatically avoids carpets in wet mode. The mop is two rotating pads, which is why it works so well (it actually scrub-scrubs the floor), but mopping performance is better with the included thicker scrubber pads than with the fluffy normal pads (it ships with a set of both). It does also vaccuum while mopping, but the dust compartment is smaller, so for major vacuuming use the dry mode only. For mopping, you can use plain water or add one of Bissell's floor cleaners. A small bottle of all-floor cleaner is included. Also included are an extra set of spinning brushes, 2 sets of mop pads, and an extra air filter on the dry vacuum module. You can reorder these things, and a new roller brush when eventually needed, from within the optional-to-use iOS or Android app. Dry vacuuming performance is excellent. Definitely not as good as with our Miele cannister vac, but we have to use the Miele way way less now. It easily removes crumbs, hair, fur, bulkier items up to the size of about a large marble, smaller leaves, pine needles, and definitely dust dust bunnies. The carpets look fresh vacuumed texture-wise, too. There are two navigation modes: back-and-forth whole-space cleaning (automatic or manual mode), and spot clean (manual mode). The privacy advantage over other robot vacuums is that this robot doesn't make an map of your house and store it in a hackable database somewhere. This means it's "dumber" than other products that have this feature. We bought this product *specifically* because of this, however. So to us, this is a feature, not a bug. We also like the "spot" cleaning feature, where you set it in one area, and it runs in increasing and then decreasing circles thoroughly around that spot (about a 3-foot diameter area) for a deeper clean, either in vacuum or mop mode. With sensors and a front bumper, when you start the robot, it just heads out and figures out a way to cover 90-95% or more of most floor spaces around most obstacles. It can detect some obstacles and avoid bumping into them, but even when it does bump, it is very gentle and there has been zero damage to baseboards or furniture. You do not need to use the iOS or Android app to operate the vacuum, and instead simply press the start button 1, 2, or 3 times depending on what you want. But with the app, you can set up a daily automatic schedule, reorder supplies, see cleaning history, and change suction strength/water use, and also command it to return to its dock. We found the robot runs for about 1.5 hours in dry mode with medium suction before needing to recharge, which is enough to clean the main floors. You can extend the run time by setting a lower suction strength in the settings. Wet mopping can use a low, medium, or high water use setting. The cleaning with the high water use setting is very good indeed. Medium is great for dusting floors or when there is no major mess. Low mode mops less well, but the battery will run longer with it if you have a big house. The robot is not that good at finding its charging dock when it's done if the robot ends up in a different room from the dock. However, if there is a clean line of sight, it docks no problem at all. If it couldn't dock while you were gone, just put it in the same room and press the top button twice, and it'll dock no problem. Pros: - Really quiet operation--not silent, but quiet enough you can watch TV or take a phone call with it running - Acceptable operating time between charges; charging is fast enough to run two automatic schedules per day (but only if it makes it back to the dock in between) - "Dumb" navigation is actually a plus because of added privacy; there are still onboard sensors and navigation algorithms to avoid or work around obstacles which work decently - Navigation is effective in a relatively uncluttered space - Sensors effortlessly avoid "cliffs" such as stairs, in wet mode also avoids carpets - Bumper is gentle and sensor can detect some obstacles without colliding first at all - Once everything is set up optimally, you can have it operate at night or when out of the house with no worries - Pricing: one of the most affordable robots with the best bang-for-the-bucks (be sure to look for sales) - Excellent vacuuming, including pet hair and food mess - Wet mode also includes a light vacuuming - Rotating mopping pads are highly effective - Cleans really well under furniture (better than with a regular vacuum) Cons: - Takes about a week of trial and error to clear clutter/tweak furniture arrangements and where best to put the dock so that the robot operates reliably enough to leave the house or have it work overnight - Can get stuck sometimes in tight places - Crumpled carpets can get it stuck - Things like hairpins or thumbtacks will stop the roller brush (which would probably not happen with a regular vacuum) - Doesn't detect visible messy areas to focus on - May not detect charging dock when in another room - Sometimes weaker at mopping edges of rooms and corners - May miss ~5% of a given space, but over multiple days it does get the whole area cleaned - Smaller dining tables with chairs seem to be harder for it; if you can put your chairs up on the table overnight, and that will improve performance if your dining area proves too tricky - We think you still need to do a detail/base clean about once or twice a month using your regular vacuum and steam mop, but the robot is great for everyday maintenance Who is this for? - If vacuuming and mopping just aren't happening, then you, because it's way better than not cleaning. - If you already vacuum and mop two or three times a week, maybe you don't need a robot at all. - Works equally well on hard floors, vinyl, tile, wood, and on carpet, and mopping performance good (but not as good as a human) - The target audience is pet owners, so, yes, if you have a pet this will work for you--but if you don't have pets, it's a great product at a great price regardless - If you have younger kids, you'll need to clean up toys and clutter from the floor first and larger bits of dropped food, but otherwise it should work OK on wet and dry messes. There is a sanitizing solution you can buy for use with the mop tank, too. - If you have older kids who are good at doing chores like vacuuming and mopping, you can skip the robot, but if your kids are too busy or not good at chores, then the robot may be a really good idea. - Households that are not very cluttered will fare better. If you tend to store things on the floor or hide stuff under furniture, you would need to declutter a bit for best effect. - Small spaces including apartments (as long as not cluttered) and midsize homes should do well. Large spaces are fine, too, but battery may need recharging to fully cover a larger home. - When on sale, you could buy multiple robots to cover different zones or floors of a larger home separately. - People with mobility issues and certain disabilities may really benefit from a robot vacuum, but you have to evaluate if a pricier product that uses mapping technologies and automatic waste removal would be better. Bottom line: In our household, the vacuuming and mopping just wasn't getting done. This robot vac/mop is thus a huge net improvement for us, and it forced us to declutter slightly which is also a net improvement. We also really like the affordability and the strong mopping performance. Definitely recommend. ... show more

  • Disappointing, app is the weakest point
Overall: I've had and used this robotic vac/mop for about 6 months now, and am disappointed. I purchased it on a super sale for $200, and I'm glad I did not spend more. The greatest weakness is the app. Technically it is possible to use it without the app and it can be started by just pressing the button. But only with the app can you change suction power or wetness, or find out why it is stalled with one of the frequent issues. The app: The app requires logging in to the Bissell site, the first real negative - you cannot use it if not logged in. Connectivity is very laggy and sometimes requires resetting robot or app. 3 bars of battery indicator are not very useful: it goes from full to one red bar within about 15 min and then stays there until it returns to dock or shuts down Vacuum: Dry vac function is just ok at best. Not much suction power, even at high level when it will not run very long - typically 40 min or so for me. It often gets hung up on carpet edges or in tight spots under chairs. The most common issue though is a front wheel error, which occurs when dust gets on the optical sensor. On average, this has happened about once per run. When this occurs it will stop, beep and show a red light, which then requires looking up on the app what the error is, then flip upside down, remove wheel, clean the wheel well, reinsert and flip back. I have not been able to get it to resume from the app. Instead I need to reset via the button, where it then appears to restart it's operation. I have had days where this happened three times within a 30 min run. I've also had instances as reported by others where the unit will just oscillate or spin in place without indicating an error but without moving anywhere. Mop: The mop function, which requires inserting a different bin into the unit, works a bit better than the dry vac. It does stay off carpets mostly when mopping - it actually tries to climb up but then turns around. A full reservoir typically will last much longer than the battery, even on highest wetness level, and in this mode it often runs for 60 to 70 minutes. It does also do a modest amount of vacuuming while mopping, which is a plus. Cleaning is ok in mop mode, though since it does not spray and then such up liquids, really what it does is wipe things around. It will not pick up dirt, but will wipe and thus spread. Depending on cleaning solution I suppose it may leave a fairly uniform shine or appearance of clean, or may actually sanitize - it's hard to test how effective that is. Overall: I have a large living area with only one occupant, and not very heavy use. I use the dry vac once per week and then do a mop run the next day. I find that this does help reduce the buildup of dust and dirt, and allows me to stretch the interval between a proper deep clean with a real vacuum and a real mop to once a month, so that is a positive. I cannot use it unattended as it typically requires attention at least once per run, and I have to use the app and be logged in to use it. I feel that cleaning would be more effective if it used actual nav rather than the random walk it seems to do. I will continue to use it, but would not consider spending more than $200 on this unit. There are other brands/units on sale periodically that do navigation/geofencing. ... show more

  • Handy little helper
Just got this little bot yesterday and tested both the vacuum and mopping mode. So far I am pleased with this handy helper. The first thing I will say is don't waste your time (or money) if you are buying a robotic vacuum expecting that it will clean better than you do. However; if you live in a busy household and would like help maintaining it between your cleanings a robotic vacuum is a great peice of equipment. Now my take aways on this little guy. It did a nice cleanup on vacuum mode. I have a 650 sq. Ft open floor plan with various furniture in its area. It transitioned from my hard surface floor onto my heavier rugs without any trouble. I did have to pick up my lighter throw rugs. The robot wanted to push up underneath them (but to be fair my roomba did the same thing). I also picked up the dining chairs to get under the table. Dining chairs do seem to be too confusing for any robot. It navigated pretty easily around the rest of my furniture without getting stuck. It wasn't quite as intuitive at my stairs as my roomba but it got itself around it and didn't fall or get stuck. I was concerned it wouldn't vacuum as well as my roomba with just one brush roll, but ultimately it did as well or better than my vacuum only bot. On wet cleaning mode it also did a good job. It left a bit of a swirly patter on the floor when you look at the right angle but it is clean and it covered everything. It did what it was supposed to and stayed off the rugs. The battery power was good in my space to run a full cycle on one mode (either vacuum or wash). It would be nice if it could run both in one cycle; but on the plus side it does do a limited amount of vacuuming while mopping. My house seems to be continuously collecting dust and dog hair but it seems to do best for me to vacuum before bed then have it run a mop cycle first thing in the morning before everyone is active for the day. The best thing about this machine is the noise. It REALLY puts the other bots to shame.....this thing is super quite! It snuck up on my husband this morning that didn't even realize it was running 😂. Addition: after running it for a couple days now the navigations seems to have improved. It moves around the space much more efficiently than it did the first day. ... show more
