This vacuum doesn't just suck; it's a veritable black hole for pet fur and dust! After a long-term relationship with my previous Bissell vacuum (5 years of ups and downs), it was time to move on. My old pal was struggling, especially with the hairball challenges posed by my Five-year-old Lab. Cue the Bissell Lift-Off Pet. It's like the vacuum equivalent of a superhero - but for pet hair. The assembly was a breeze, everything just snapped together like Lego bricks. The first test run in the living room was a revelation. It was lighter, glided smoother, and was quieter than my old model. The swivel feature felt like switching from a flip phone to a smartphone - a bit odd at first but amazing once you get the hang of it. Halfway through the living room, I had to empty the canister - a testament to its pet hair annihilating abilities (and maybe a hint that my dog sheds like it's her job). The canister was easier to empty than solving a 2-piece puzzle. Next up: the bedroom and hallway. I bought this after having the same Dyson for 20 years. Holy cow, vacuums, at least this one, have gotten lighter in 20 years! This vacuum was easy to put together, and is so lightweight, it’s really easy to move wherever it’s needed. It’s really effective on carpet, rugs, and hard floors (once you turn the brushes off). I just moved into a new apartment and it’s been great for vacuuming small spaces, and the cord is super long. I can vacuum a good chunk of the apartment without having to switch the cord, which is super nice. Additionally, it picks up cat hair really well. We got this on sale, which was great, but it really is a nice vacuum. I guess we’ll see if it holds a candle to the Dyson’s longevity, but I will say, the new vacuum is way more effective than its geriatric predecessor. ... show more

After going through a new vacuum cleaner every year because so much pet hair gets stuck in the rollers, I went with this vacuum as it is made for pet hair and claims it won’t get tangled. So far so good! I have 2 Dalmatians and on my first pass through the house I picked up ALOT of hair and dirt, see second photo. The suction seems to work great on my rugs and vinyl flooring. I have always used cordless vacuum, so I was a little upset about the cord, but it’s not the end of the world. I do like that the cord retracts automatically with the press of a button. Assembly of the vacuum was minimal and easy to do. Taking apart and cleaning the debris compartment was easy. My main complaint is that this is a big, heavy, and loud vacuum. It really takes some muscle to push this thing around town and it is not ideal for small spaces. However, for purposes of getting dirt and pet hair up, which was my goal, it gets the job done! ... show more

I did extensive research on vacuums for pet hair and no tangling of the brush roller or clogging up all the time. This Bissel came up as the top pick, but I still continued my search and used it as a comparison. I purchased it based off functionality, features, reviews and brand. Setup was so easy! It is a little heavy, but don't let that deter you! This vacuum is dynamite and a powerhouse! The light is bright and really lights your path. I have 3 cats and had a thin layer of fuzz on my carpet that my other vacuum could not pick up. I only vacuumed less than half of my livingroom and what a difference! All the hair and fuzz were picked up. I filled the dustbin! I emptied it easily, but still needed to reach in for a couple of fuzzballs. That was a little inconvenient, but small potatoes compared with the performance. Price was a little higher than I normally pay, but the features and power This has makes it worth it! Bissell also supports pet charities, so my purchase helps feed and care for other pets. If you have pets who shed, you NEED this vacuum!
