This is a great little vacuum. I've been using it on my pine floors and it really goes after the cat hair, stray pieces of cat food and tracked litter. It's easy to maneuver and clean. I really like being able to not only empty the canister easily but also wash it and the filter thoroughly. The battery charges very quickly and last an amazingly long time. It's easy to see with the green lights how much charge there is. This vacuum is not the best on a thick carpet but works well on thinner carpets and great on wood and tile floors. ... show more

I'm 59 and in my youth worked as a school custodian and private cleaning crew to pay for college. I've used many vacuum cleaners. This is FAR and away my favorite device. Ever. This vacuum cleaner goes easily from hard wood or tile surfaces to rugs and carpets. It runs on a rechargeable battery and has power to spare. Emptying the collection bin is very straight forward and simple. You can also easily remove the roller for use on loose rugs, or fringed rugs. The price compared to that of other similar models makes the Bissell a bargain. I shopped for this product by using my subscription to Consumer Reports, where this model was highly rated. It was about 1/3 the price of the Dyson, although the Dyson can convert to a hand held unit and includes tools - - both lacking on this Bissell model. For me, this unit is all I need, and I vacuum much more often because it is so easy (and fun) to use. ===================== UPDATE AFTER 4 MONTHS ===================== November 9, 2018: The Bissell RAM Air is still working flawlessly. I haven't experienced any of the issues I've read from some users -- but I thank them for mentioning them, since I'm watching carefully for any signs of similar flaws. I do understand that this vacuum is not heavy duty, and using it in a commercial environment on a daily basis could wear out the pins that hold the handle together, due to the repeated stress on the plastic pins by pushing and pulling the handle. I may try to head this off by epoxy gluing the handle. ===================== UPDATE AFTER 3 YEARS ===================== November 8,2021: This is the best vacuum cleaner I've ever had. It holds a charge for a very long time. I never experienced any issues with the handle, as mentioned by an earlier post, where the user used it frequently at a business. It is easy to clean. One can (and must) clean the hepafilter occasionally. This is best done by hand, using dish soap, then drying it thoroughly by air. I still highly recommend this product. ... show more

    • So easy! A game changer for full carpet houses!
We just moved into a house with tons of carpet & my canister vacuum was just too much to lug around. This guy is so much easier & faster to use! I can do the whole house in half the time/effort. It’s lightweight, cordless & maneuvers well under/around furniture. It bends almost completely flat for easy reach under beds, couch etc. I also love how easy it is to empty the dust canister- the filter scraper works really well so there isn’t a cloud of dust from shaking it into the garbage. We have cats & it scrapes the cat hair off the filter in one or two sweeps. It doesn’t hold a lot so I for need to empty it once or twice for a full house vacuum. The only cons are that it doesn’t do quite as well on edges, hard floors or stairs as our canister vacuum with attachments- as well as any upright, but especially in the cat litter area & kitchen I need to go around the edges with my hand vacuum to finish the job. Without attachments it also doesn’t work for furniture. That said, I still think this vacuum is a great investment & I am vacuuming much more often bc it’s so fast/easy to use. Highly recommend for majority carpet houses. Oh & my 85yr old mom with mobility issues & arthritis is going to order one since it’s light/easy enough for her to use & small enough to store in her retirement condo. ... show more

    • Very powerful. simple. Wish it was just a little lower profile
The media could not be loaded. This vacuum we got because our old vacuum just died after 5 years, We looked and looked then found this one, We love it it is powerful for a battery powered vacuum, love the light and it is so EZ to empty and clean out the filter everything about this vacuum is simple in the best ways, it’s light very sucky in the good way! =) Cons are that it isn’t as low profile as others so it doesn’t fit under our cabinets and furniture. So I hope on the next version of this vacuum they fix these because I’ll definitely be getting it again. Its suction is good so any throw carpets probably wouldn’t be good to vacuum with it. And when your emptying the bin there’s almost always some dirt that’s left in the bottom of the vacuum Also idk if this is a con but I wish the bristles were different maybe more of them. I give it an 8.5/10 ... show more
