Little tricky getting it properly aligned in my bike's droputs, so the skewer would slide through. But it felt secure once I did. And I needed to orient it just right with respect to the fork mount on the roof rack otherwise it wouldn't lock in. Minor quibbles; overall it worked as advertised.

Got this adapter to use with my mountain bike and a Thule 518 echelon roof rack. The adapter is a nice hunk of metal, fits the forks and mount perfectly, and passes the shake/pull test.

Axel converters seems simple enough. However, some are too tall or bulky and maybe overpriced, which is why I liked this one. It seems to be lower profile than many on the market and a fraction of the cost of similar products. I was able to really tighten the skewers and lock them onto the converter. Go as tight as you can for peace of mind. It has not shifted much since installation. I’d easily buy another. You could get 2 of these for the cost of one other converter. ... show more
