Quick update! Still love the pool! When the skimmer basket deteriorates, you'll find that Bestway wants 25.99 for the replacement OR you can buy these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F384CDP1?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title My pool is the 52" round. Folks giving the PRODUCT a poor review because the instructions are poor just don't make sense. I almost didn't buy this because of the 3.7 stars, but once you read through the reviews you realize folks aren't complaining about the QUALITY of the pool. The barcode on the front of the instruction manual takes you to a video or search for Round Hydrium Steel Wall Above Ground Pool Setup video. That video certainly over-simplifies, but it shows you one of every step, You just have to repeat it for every stanchion etc. A friend and I took right at 6 hours to have it all put together and filling. Got another hour or two of cutting the skimmer and return hole and hooking up the pump/filter after filling, but the pool is up, looks good and is super sturdy. Disclaimer is that we have installed a pool before and from the day I ordered this, we began preparing/leveling the ground. Things to note: I am not a professional, I'm a Dad/Grandad trying to keep the grandkids happy. - Ground/Site prep is SUPER important! Spend some time at it! - Someone mentioned in a poor review that the skimmer and return hole are not precut. So you could not POSSIBLY line up a precut hole. Even if you lined it up perfectly, the weight of 5000 gallons of water will move it. You want the water level almost at the hole when you cut it so you know the water is holding the liner in that spot forever. - I put a 12" square concrete block under every stanchion. Had to dig down and basically make it flush with the ground. SUPER painful and time consuming process, but worth it for stability. - I won't be using the included ladder, pump or filter simply because I had access to better ones so no feedback on those. - I purchased heavy duty coving (along base of wall in middle pic) and a pad to go under the pool. It comes with a blue tarp, but I wanted a bit of extra protection. - If you order this here, it is going to take a while to get to you. Research, review, watch, read and prepare the ground. assembly was pretty easy especially considering how vague the directions were, only thing that helped was the poor assembly video they had on the website which made me laugh... If you think your gonna put this together by yourself, your wrong, definately gonna need at least one person to help you, and make sure you put in the effort to have a leveled surface for the pool to set on. Consider getting a better pump and filter as the one that comes with this is pretty weak and wont even operate a pump vacuum, looks nice especially with the deck i built around the pool. ... show more

This pool is the worst thing to put together. The instructions are trash and the pieces do not line up!!! Yes there is also a video but when the pieces don’t line up the video does not matter.

Great pool, easy to setup but I recommend 3 people: 1 as project manager or planner, 2 for the physical setup. Absolutely critical that you start with a perfectly level surface. At the frame build phase, level it again. Do not install the liner until absolutely level. Mine requires daily skim for leaves and weekly shock. Chlorine floaters are useless, I have 2 with 8 tablets each and my test strip cannot detect any chlorine. So I shock (HTH) 1x per week, keeps it crystal clear. ... show more

    • Terrifying to screw through the liner....

I cannot believe we got this pool together with out it leaking. At least as far as we can tell. I paid $1,500 and thankfully got some reimbursement when it went on sale almost a month after I bought it. We have the 16'x52" round pool. It's beautiful now that we have it setup but it was a BEAR to put together. You really need 3 people at least to hold the very heavy metal roll. Make sure someone is always holding the roll or it will tip over and could bend or dent the metal walls, which happened to us but thankfully we were able to adjust and fix it. The MOST terrifying part was having to screw and cut through the liner to put the filter in. WHY OH WHY Bestway, don't you have a pre-cut, re-enforced hole for the water spout and the filter!?!? It's just ridiculous to expect someone to be able to put that in themselves and not make a mistake. The good Lord got us through it and we were able to get it attached successfully but I was shaking and almost having a panic attack while doing it because I could just imagine accidentally poking a hole in the $1,500 liner especially after the SIX HOURS that it took me and my husband to put this pool together. DEFINITELY watch the TWO videos that Amazon has posted with the pool. We watched them over and over again and that's all we needed to put the pool together. We never even looked at the paper instructions. Thankfully they did that right when they put those videos together. One is of a guy and a girl putting the pool together and the other is two women. The videos are very deceiving because I'm sure they paused the video and had others come in and help! ALSO! Make SURE that you have a finger hole between the two tubes that go together in each foot of the bottom of the pool. We pushed them together so they were almost touching and that made us SHORT when putting the metal in the track. We had to pull the tubes apart more so accommodate. So PLEASE make sure, like the video shows, that you have a fingers width between the two tubes that got in that foot base. It's critical to do that! WHY they didn't design it so that they could be pushed together and you didn't need that finger hole is beyond me! I also wish the top railing would have been plastic. I thought that's what it was until we started putting them together. The metal gets kind of hot to the touch on a warm sunny day. I think plastic would be better. Several design flaws with this pool but now that it is put together it's really beautiful and I pray it will last us a long time! They just really need to change those few things to make this the perfect little pool for a great price! ... show more

First time pool owners and installers. Husband and I did all the prep work and installation. Prepping the area to be level took more time then the actual pool set up. Best to have three people when actually setting up the pool side walls, one to hold in place and two to unravel and line up into the base. Otherwise, so far, the pool has been great. Sturdy and not an eyesore. Pump could be better, plan on getting a larger one next season. ... show more

Bought this pool after owning an intex for a few years. That one got crushed in the snow after year 3. I wanted to upgrade to a “real pool”. After doing research and watching build videos of this model and others like it, I went for it. Im glad i did. The pool is built and functions just like the big professional pools do. A few tips: you need at LEAST two people to build this. I used three and we got it done in about 4 hours. Make sure you have a level and sand covered base. This is key. I had a pro landscaper come and do this for me. (It was more expensive than the pool itself, but 100% necessary). Watch all the tutorials and do your homework. If you follow that you can have a great pool for a fraction of the cost. The sand pump seems to be doing well so far. Its a bit underpowered but much better than the mini one the intex pools come with. I hooked mine up to a salt chlorinator and so far its doing its job. Overall I am very impressed with this.
