The ladder that came with the pool we received as a gift had three steps and a platform at the top. We are old and rather large people, and the ladder wobbled all over the place. This ladder had four steps, so easier to climb, and has no platform at the top, so we just step over the edge of the pool and go down the other side. I ordered this ladder to use temporarily until our decks are built and we can put our other steps in. It is surprising well made and sturdy. My husband, who is an engineer, assembled it and he was impressed with the item and how sturdy it is. He also was very impressed with the instructions and remarked that they were very detailed, well written and easy to follow. Even the individual screw packages were labeled by size not a letter or number. This ladder is perfect for our Intex pool. It's fairly easy to put together. It's very sturdy and stays put, even with kids jumping off of it. It's light enough that's it's easy to pull out of pool when needed but also holds 250lb person and it doesn't feel wobbly.

I had to order a taller ladder since we put my pool legs on bricks. The ladder that came with the pool was too short since pool was sitting higher. Just wished this ladder had a base stand on top.
