I literally followed the book and filled the base with sand. My feedback is mostly for the manufacturer. The assembly is not too bad, but the real sore point was when I had to remove the thin protective plastic film that is almost glued to the heat reflecting plates. Not only was it extremely difficult to remove this thin plastic film from 8 different surfaces ( 4 plates and had to be done from each side of the plates ), the plastic film disintegrates easily into small plastic pieces and it's just not got for our planet. Kindly consider using plain white paper between plates to pack them and save us the first timers from the pain in peeling off this plastic that was so difficult to remove. It will also save our planet some. Also consider replacing the foam padding with corrugated paper padding. Just make the packing planet friendly PLEASE !!!! The cover fits perfectly well and the assembled patio heater looks so good. It worked as expected and we can now enjoy winters on our patio.

The product assembles easily with very good assembly instructions. The only challenge with the assembly is peeling the blue protective film off of the top panels. Other than that, it works well following manufacturers directions. A propane tank lasts about 6 - 8 hours on low to mid range setting. Warmth can be felt in a 6 to 8 foot radius when there is no wind.

What a PIA to put together the heat deflectors. Reasonably ok for the rest of the assembly. Heat output is on par with most other budget patio heaters. Nothing special about this unit

Easy to assemble with the exception of removing the blue protective plastic that is on the heat shields for shipping purposes. They are a very difficult thing to remove and I do not know why they even bother putting them on as they were all scratched anyway.

The good news is the product arrived quickly, well packaged, just a small dent in the metal housing (does not affect performance). All the required parts were included for assembly EXCEPT the first step is to fill the base with sand which is not included. Fortunately we live in the desert - no shortage of sand nearby (otherwise plan ahead). Assembly took an hour, but the instructions were easy to follow. It fired right up on the first try and appears to regulate and distribute the heat nicely (used once so far). The only negatives were (1) there are 4 large round unscreened vent holes (~2" dia) around the base of the metal base cover - probably a safety feature in case there is a propane leak. Unfortunately, living in the desert, critters such as snakes, rodents, scorpions and other critters find these as an entry to an attractive place to hide. I had to find some screen material and cover the holes from the inside secured with adhesive as a varmint exclusion (see photo). This product would be improved by simply screening those large openings at the factory. and (2) when I moved the heater with a full tank of propane on the wheels the framework bent and the heater no longer stood straight vertically - it was leaning significantly to one side. I bent it back into position but will probably remove the propane tank before I attempt to relocate the heater. Never had that problem with other patio heaters. The cover fits nicely but if you are under 6'+ it is hard to get it over the top, and even harder to remove with the bolts protruding on the top. These are minor issues with what otherwise appears to be a quality product.

I've wanted a patio heater for a long time! I finally purchased this one a couple months ago and I'm so glad I did! It took me about 45 minutes to put together, the instructions were clear and I had no problems with the assembly. And then it lit up easily on the first try! If the wind is blowing, as you can expect, the heat is not nearly as noticeable, but on a calm day this heater makes a noticeable difference. I cook on my grill at least 2 or 3 nights a week all year round, this heater is going to make my grilling habits much more comfortable! I have plans to order a second heater after the holidays as I think 2 will create a "heat zone" that will make my patio that much more enjoyable even in the winter months.

These are a very nice addition to our deck. The little side tables are also very convenient. We’ve been able to host a couple friends now outside safely during this whole COVID thing. Even on low these have provided ideal heat. They’re also very easy to light. Assembly is better with 2. It took my husband and I about 1 1/2 hours to walk through the instructions and assemble both of them. A few challenges but nothing truly frustrating (not for me anyway - don’t tell my husband, haha). We filled the base with sand but it wasn’t enough. One blew over the first night (~ 15 mph winds). Those hoods make ideal sails to catch the wind. We bought sand bag weights (like you’d attach to a canopy tent) which we use to weigh it down (one on the wheels and one around the post below the table) when we’re using them. We attach the heaters to our railing with ratchet straps when we’re not using them. A windstorm was going to come through so we actually took the hoods off (wing nuts) which left a smaller profile for the wind to catch. You just unscrew the nuts, take off the hood then screw the nuts back on so you don’t lose them. It worked perfectly. so happy we made this investment.
