Years ago I purchased a fake fireplace cabinet (shown on the left in the pic). Last winter the heater switch went out. I replaced the switch and found out the heating element was bad. Decided to just get a new insert, much cheaper than buying a new cabinet combo. It fits great as you can see on the right pic. I had to undo the little board at the top of the heater to get it framed up correctly, then tapped the board in to make a tight fit. Hey whatever makes it work right? I am very happy with the upgrade of having a remote and a thermostat on this new version. My old one had neither. I had to use the heat for a few short hours and it got the chill out of the room very quickly. It is not loud. You can hear the fan motor blowing but not any louder than a small fan on low. I don't have central heat so this and maybe another electric heater (normally have to use anyhow) will heat my living room when it finally gets really cold here in S.E. Texas. My living room is about 200 sq ft. ... show more

This was so easy to put together. The trick is the screws to hold the glass don't go in the holes that they look like they go in. If you lock the glass down (slide it) the screw goes in right next to the tab. Took me a minute but use a flash light cause it's a little bugger. Once I got it together (by myself, widow), it's a great little heater and beautiful to look at. Took me maybe 20 minutes to put together. I feel like this will be able to be used for a long time, good quality & the colors are great. I like the remote too. Warms up quickly. Very happy. ... show more

I love everything about this fireplace. It's quiet, it keeps my entire 1000 square foot apartment warm. The changing colors of the glass "rocks" are stunning. The remote makes accessing all of the features extremely easy. I love sitting on my coach and just looking at it.

This is a sleek fireplace with lots of color options. Produces great heat and a lovely ambiance. My only beef is that it's sometimes hard to figure out how to turn off the heater. Whether I use the remote or the controls on the unit itself, I have to try several different times. Also, it's not intuitive on how to use the controls on the unit since they are invisible until you touch the glass to turn it on. ... show more
