I bought this to use on my two standard poodles. They are farm dogs and get overgrown and matted during winter. Regular professional grade grooming clippers weren’t heavy duty enough so I bought these a year ago. They work great and easily cut through the thick poodle hair. I’m extremely careful and don’t use this on all areas of the dogs, just on their torsos. It’s heavy and it gets hot so taking breaks helps. I’ve cut both my dogs hair several times and the blades are just now getting dull, whereas with my dog clippers I couldn’t even cut the hair on half a dog before the blade dulled.

The media could not be loaded. I ordered BEETRO 500W, Electric Professional Sheep Shears, Animal Grooming Clippers for Sheep Alpacas Goats... after reading through several reviews. I have prior experience as a dog groomer, so felt confident that I could adjust to shearing sheep. The shears worked great. I didn't feel any resistance while it was going through the wool. I oiled the blades well and often as stated in the instructions, and in some earlier reviews, and they never got hot. I used them for the neck and body moving downward at the top of the legs so as not to cut the skin where the legs attach to the body. They also work great! Her fleece is amazing and she is happy. No nicks and very few second cuts. My stand was a repurposed milk stand, using my wagon sides to help keep her from falling off the sides. The instructions say not to use on dogs. I would agree. I would highly recommend these clippers for an owner of a small flock of sheep.

These are the first set of shears I’ve ever purchased, and for the price they’re not too bad. Easy assembly and ready to use out of the case. Our lambs have never been shorn and their wool was thick and matted in some places but these cut right through easily. Two issues: 1. The blades got hot after prolonged use and the lambs became agitated when I used them on their undersides where the wool wasn’t as thick. Take breaks and let them cool down during use. 2. The screws holding the blades in place worked themselves loose from all the vibrations and they fell off during use. Thankfully this happened when I was using them in a downward motion and they fell onto the stand in the pile of wool and didn’t shoot across the barn and hurt someone. The blades were very hot to touch when I picked them up to reattach. I let them cool completely before I reassembled. Thinking back on this I should have tightened the screws between animals and it likely could have been avoided. Live and learn. I’ve shared the sales link for these to a friend for her teen son to use on their sheep as they will also be a good starter set, but I’ll be sure to tell him about my experiences so these issues can be avoided.

I've tried a number of clippers on my Airedale terrier, but have never had much luck until I tried these. They cut right through her coat with no problem. They're loud and heavy but they get the job done!

These clippers worked great and were very easy to use and easy to clean! However the user needs training haha, worked great for our first time shearing our alpaca, but she may not appreciate her new look as we need some practice. Very lightweight and easy to hold while shearing. I think the speed of the clippers was great and didn't stick or get caught. Simple look.

I guess it is my fault for not opening the product when I was got it. I open today and tried it out and low and behold. It worked like for 1 min and then it started slowing down and it died. Smh. I waited to long to open it, now I can't return it.

Heavy, overheats, noise scares my dogs. Bought to use on a sheepdoodle and a poodle. Unfortunately it works great for the first 10 minutes but over heats a lot. You can easily cut an animal with these as well. Only use it on the dogs large areas, definitely do not use on legs, head, or tails. You will really hurt your animal.

I’ve burned out several dog clippers on my Doodle buddy but this one is awesome and built to last it seems. You have to be sure the blades are secured and I only feel comfortable using it on his torso and down to his elbows and knees . I use a less aggressive one for his face area and feet. If you take your time and and mindful of sensitive areas it works great. It is a little loud but my Dood stands still and I’m gentle with him, it doesn’t hurt to have a 2nd person help in case your fur baby gets scared at first. It’s also heavier than your average dog clippers but it was intended for livestock I believe. My doodle has hair like sheep so it is perfect for getting it done and much quicker.
