  • Good, but I upgraded to the Pro and its excellent!
Original Review: I used a Maytronics Dolphin robotic pool cleaner for 15 years before getting the Beatbot AquaSense 2, so my comments are a comparison to the Dolphin. I have an inground gunite pool with a pebble surface, multiple steps, benches, and shallow areas. The pool is also an odd shape. The Good: - No cord running through the pool and yard. -Smarter at navigating the pool and getting into tricky spots, but still misses some corners and can't get on some shallow shelves -Comes to the surface/edge when done -Phone app to set and track cleaning. Easy to use and get notifications when done cleaning, needs a charge, etc... -Easy and quick to hose out the basket. Much easier than my old cleaner -Plenty of battery power to clean the pool and walls in one charge The Bad: -The basket has coarse mesh in it. All the fine dirt, pollen, and sand are just pumped off the bottom up into the pool, making the water cloudy -When at the bottom of the pool, it can't connect to wifi, so there is no way to control it Overall, it's a great cleaner with one major flaw. Their higher-end models have an extra filter cartridge that can be inserted to get the fine dirt, so they must be aware of this major shortcoming. Considering the list price of this thing is $1600 they should have included it on this model. Even with all the good in this cleaner I strongly recommend not getting it. It took several extra weeks to get the pool clear for the season compared to my old cleaner. I would run this cleaner, which pumps all the fine dirt into the water, making it cloudy. Some gets filtered out by the pool filter but much of it just sinks back to the bottom. Potentially, their more expensive cleaners with the extra fine filter is worth trying. Stay away from this one. Review Update: After Beatbot saw the original review, they offered a full refund even though I had owned it for two months. I took them up on the offer and changed the review to reflect the outstanding service I received. It's nice to see a company do so much to make sure their customers have a good experience. I plan on giving the AquaSense 2 Pro version a try and seeing if it gets the fine dirt off the floor. Outside of this issue, it was a great machine. Final Update: I received the AquaSense 2 Pro machine. This cleaner has a double wall basket where the non-pro version does not. I had gotten much of the finer sand and dirt out of the pool already so it was hard to fully test how much better the pro version with the double basket works, but it did seem to do a better job. In addition, the pro version can dispense a water clarifier as it cleans which really works well. The pool is crystal clear. The pro version also skims the pool which I originally wasn’t interested in but now that I have tried it, I think it’s very useful. The pro also has a larger battery which seems to have plenty of power to clean the walls, floor and skim. The non-pro did seem to have adequate power but may fall short in a few years as the battery degrades. Overall, I highly recommend getting the pro over the non-pro, it’s the best cleaner I have used. It’s a lot more convenient than my old cored cleaner and does a much better job. The non pro model would be fine if you don’t have fine sand, pollen and dirt or potentially use a water clarifying additive to the pool. ... show more

  • Not what they say it is!
This machineis supposed to do the waterline. However, when it comes up the wall it barely goes above the waterline and apparently the dry tile stops the brushes from turning. It is also supposed to back down and come up a second time, they refer to as a double pass, to clean the waterline but after a few uses it stopped trying the second pass. There does not seem to be enough power to turn the brushes at the waterline and this was my top priority. I contacted customer service and they wanted me to upload videos and they would trouble shoot it for me. They were going to send a link, did not happen. Had to reach out again. They sent me a link and when I went to upload the video there was a substantial charge to do so. I just packed it up and sent it back. Horrific customer service. ... show more

  • An excellent little machine!
A mighty little machine! Impressed by the build quality, ease of use, and effectiveness of the robot. We noticed the robot couldn’t seem to pick up the finer sediment at the bottom of our pool, which was disappointing. I reached out to BeatBot customer service, explaining the issue. In no time, they had a new filter basket for ultra-fine sediment shipped to me which has done the trick on the dust-fine sediment once in our pool. Our pools looks great now! Appreciate the excellent customer service and look forward to many years of a clean pool with little effort on our part. ... show more

  • pleased with this cleaner
I'm pleased with this cleaner's performance in my pool. Although it doesn't always resurface, it reliably ends up near its deployment spot. If it starts to surface and park, I will bring it up to 5 stars. Update: It now always parks itself at the pools edge and battery life exceed advertised time. The app's advanced cleaning options are quite useful; specifically, the "MultiZone" mode performs excellently in my pool, which features a sloped transition from the shallow to the deep end. A crucial point for potential users: Wi-Fi does not work underwater. Water inherently blocks and disperses Wi-Fi signals, making app control impossible once the device is submerged. ... show more

  • Know your pool and Wi-fi range
I would have given it a one star for all the trouble I have had with the pricing. But, the second one has been working as it should be. The first one I got took over a week to receiver. Unpack it and it worked for one day and had a malfunction and it would not reset. Returned it back to Amazon. Amazon would not send another one. We had to get a refund. I order another one and I was charged a hundred dollars more due to the price had gone up. Was told I would get a reimbursement for the difference, which I never got. We made several phone calls and got different answers. Still working on that part. The new I received works great. One thing is to make sure you know how your pool is. Is it a one level or multi-level. You have to know what your Wi-fi range is. Make your choice or selection before you put it in the pool. Also, before you put it in the pool, you set it on the edge at a level place for a count of 5. When it is finished, you will need to pull it within range of your Wi-fi then tell it to park. After a few trails and errors, I learned how to use it. It does a great job at cleaning the pool. Cleaning the basket is very ease. ... show more

  • Best cleaning robot i have had yet
So i have always had Polaris cleaners. They cost 1200 or more and last about 4 years but they never got the bottom sand and fine dirt this unit gets. I’m amazed my pool has never had a sand free bottom. Paver sand from the pool deck is a constant battle every time it rains hard. Two 180 minute cleanings and Beatbot beats the Polaris. Plus no cord to untangle. Awesome. I love the parking feature. This thing is so cool and it does the job. You’ll love it. ... show more
