  • Easy to use and cleans well
This vacuum was easy to install ( and I’m 80) It cleans our 16 by 32 pool very well. We tried one of the vac that was one of the robot kind. It was too difficult for me to lift and carry, and didn’t clean the areas at two corners. We are very satisfied with this model.

  • Happy Pool Owner
Just installed on 06-17-2025 so I am hoping it works great. It climbs the walls without any problem. The pool floor is clean from the first usage. So far, I am pleased with it.

  • Update on Buyer beware - False Advertising
Polaris recently contacted me to review the Polaris 280 I purchased after the negative experience we had with the Polaris 360. I responded advising I was very happy with the 280 but wanted to speak with someone regarding the below review of the Polaris 360. I am extremely pleased that Polaris immediately contacted me to gather further information regarding our experience with the 360. They are now looking into the situation based on the relevant information of our pool specs and our interaction with their Tech Support. I definitely appreciate the concern expressed and I will again update my review when I have further information from Polaris. Purchased to replace an almost 20 year old Polaris 380. Described as not needing a booster pump and all wheel drive so bought that instead of the Polaris 280. Assembled and put into the pool. The vac barely moved at a snail's pace so contacted Polaris tech support. Confirmed all was correct and then tech asked if it was connected to the booster pump. What??? Advised no as it was clearly advertised as NOT needed. Tech advised to connect and it started functioning properly. In researching the issue, all sources indicated it should NOT be connected to a booster pump - it would damage the unit, shorten the life of the product, and most likely void any warranty! I contacted the seller at In The Swim and they immediately authorized the return. I then purchased the Polaris 280 that works perfectly - basically a “plug and play” installation as the 360 should have been. It is very frustrating that Polaris advertises complete compatibility; and, more importantly, erroneous information from their OWN tech support that using my existing booster pump was acceptable! Wasted a lot of time and effort and extremely disappointed in the misrepresentations by Polaris. A one star review is well deserved! Hopefully Polaris will look into this and rectify the misleading and false claims of this product and educate their tech support. ... show more

  • Lasted 8 years
Almost to the day, our Polaris 360 lasted 8 years and died today. In recent years, multiple hose sections were replaced as needed. Pool guy said now it needs belts, bearings, gear box repair, better to replace it. $400 in 2017 in case you were wondering…

  • Pretty cool so far
Just got the Polaris today and hooked it up. No real hassles. My pool is a lazy L built in that is about 20 x 40. I have four return jets and can isolate them in pairs. I installed one of the small eyeball jets and closed off the other set with the valve, hooked up the quick disconnect to the othe jet that s near the center of the pool. The hose turned out to be the right length right out of the box... Lucky! Checked the RPMs and they were right about 27 to 28 so I just started using it. There was some algae in the pool (just got back from vacation) and the Polaris was effective at picking of the debris but the normal bag was letting too much out. I decided to just vacuum the pool the old fashion way to just get it closer to clean. I ordered a silt bag which others said was a must but it was at the post office with all my other stopped mail. I'll get that tomorrow. After the normal vacuum I started up the Polaris again and just let it go. It travels around the pool in a random manner. Whoever said it has the same pattern must be nuts. Every 3 and 1/2 minutes the back flush valve works to pull the entire thing backwards. There is no way it lands in the same spot. It does get stuck in a corner but when it back flushes it gets itself unstuck. The whipping tail seems to do a great job of getting in all the corners and seams of the pool. My pool does not have smooth rounded corners so climbing is not perfect. However, after watching it for a while there are times it does climb part way up the walls. The tail does get everywhere I want it to get so I don't think the climbing to the surface will be an issue. The one thing I can tell already is that this thing will get the water stirred up and I suspect this will be a huge improvement for my pool cleanliness. One small thing I need to figure out though is the small eyeball jet kind of squeals and it is annoying. I think I will try to drill the hole out a little larger like someone else said. I'll follow up on my post in a few days to see how things work out. So far.... I like it. Update on 8/18/12 After a week I can say this thing does everything I need it to do. Is put the silt bag on and it does a better job of catching all the small debris in the pool. I can't believe how much is in the bag when the pool looked clean when I start the filter. My wife said she has had to untangle the thing once or twice but I have yet to see this. I haven't had to vacuum the pool manually at all, which is the primary reason you purchase one of these. I did replace some of the eyeballs with smaller ones and drilled another to a slighty larger size so I get the proper flow and don't have to mess with closing off valves. The pool is clean and ready to use whenever we want to use it. It doesn't climb the walls as well as I like but I simple have to brush a couple of spots. I did this tonight and it took about 60 seconds. I can live with that. I stil give it 5 stars for the price. ... show more
