Easy to install. They glide and are so quiet. Definitely a great buy since I was given a great office chair that needed to be deep cleaned. The dog hair around the wheels would not come off the insides, making the old wheels difficult to roll. Looks & works like a brand new chair. I say too effective because they roll better than the casters that will come with your typical task chair or office chair. These casters are awesome!!! My desk chair has never rolled on our modern laminate floor more smoothly. My $300 desk chair came with standard-grade casters that gunked up with sewing thread trimmings and debris. They were noisy and required force to move around, and without any guilt I tossed them directly into the trash can when these new casters arrived. With these new double-wheel casters I can easily (and quietly) glide across my office floor. These were well-priced and easily installed. I am now ordering a second set for my taller chair that I use at my sewing and craft table. Michael Leavitt - Orem, Utah Edit: 10/17/2023 - I am now installing these on my taller chair and opted to order a similar taller single-wheel model caster set featuring dual locks for my primary desk chair. I decided that I wanted to see if locks were necessary for my primary chair due to the fact that these wheels roll so incredibly smoothly on the floor. I have a heavy duty office chair for larger people. These wheels are about 1/4" too short overall to work with my chair. The center pole that connects to the base of the chair rests on the floor when these wheels are installed. I have replaced them with another brand/style that are also 2" wheels and they work well. The primary difference I can see about the sizing on the newer set that I am successfully using is that the base above the wheel where the peg attaches has an additional flat piece of metal that the spokes rest on that raises the chair another 1/8 - 1/4" (see image). Note: I put these wheels onto a typical office chair (not for larger people) and they work well. They are quiet and roll well. ... show more

The wheels my office chair came with worked well enough except for the tendency to collect hair and not move well, It was a constant fight. These wheels are so smooth moving and quiet!! My chair glides over our floors like I was on ice!! I love these wheels! Installation was so very easy as well!!

    • I underestimated the importance of sound

We've all heard how plastic wheels sound on concrete. The screech and rattle as you swing the empty stool over to a new spot in the garage, The crunchy crackling as you're seated in the stool, swinging around to the other side of the workpiece. I was used to it, and really just wanted smoother wheels, so I got these and put them on the stool. OMG. They make NO noise. None. Whether or not I'm sitting in the stool, they make no noise, they roll softly and effortlessly, and they transformed my lowly shop stool from a second-hand freebie to a thing of beauty and purpose.
