I have had 2 different robots from one of the other major brands. I was satisfied but not overly impressed. I bought this to replace a 2 year old $1400 unit from the other brand. It broke (again), and even though it's under warranty I'm tired of messing with it and waiting for shipping back and forth. Now on to this one. Sweet! Wi-Fi features and “Pool Lift” are incredible (very helpful) features to this pool vacuum. This baby cleans my entire pool (including the waterline better) in 40 minutes! Best I have ever owned!

    • Great cleaner that won't last more than a year

The good news is that the cleaner works very well for the first year, maybe two. For me, after the first year, I started getting the error #3 that you'll see in different reviews. Polaris wants $700 for a replacement motor unit to fix this problem. I opened up my motor unit and found that water had gotten inside due to a poor seal. Believe it or not, there were two packs of desiccant in there to try to absorb the water! The two packs had gotten saturated, and then the water started to collect on the circuit board. I dried the circuit board off and then reassembled, and the cleaner started working again. Two weeks later, I started getting error #10 (communication error). I did some trouble shooting and discovered that water had gotten into the tangle-reducing swivel connector on the cord that floats in the water. After opening that up, I found that it was corroded beyond repair. These things are obviously not build to last more than a year or two, which would be fine if they cost $300, not $1500. Once I'm unable to repair this robot anymore, I'll be trying a different brand. ... show more

Update: Polaris does NOT sell through Amazon! Fluidia (the parent company) informed me that the Polaris Store on Amazon is not associated with Polaris and there is NO manufature marrany available for items purchased on Amazon. So consider that before buying here. This is a great unit! I bought it here because it would be delivered and it was easier than going into a store. It works great, its not too heavy and the lifter function is great. I got this for my mom and she loves not having to clean the pool by hand(or call me to do it!). Problem: Mom called, the unit is not working. I called the warranty and they sent me to Leslies pool supply for repair. Leslies says the power supply must be replaced and to see if the seller has any options. I contact the seller and they say I am 3 days outside of the return window. It was in the shop a week. Solution: Go buy this from Leslies directly. Seller said its too late for them to handle it. So now I am going to Leslies anyway to buy the replacement. Stay away from Spreetail!! ... show more

Preface this by saying we had 2 Hayward Tigersharks prior (standard and XL). Most of my points made here will be contrasting those with this model. There are some reviews here stating that if you purchase through Amazon the manufacturer warrant will be void. Not True! I contacted the parent company to verify. You can even go to the Polaris web based store and will be directed back to Amazon for purchase for most of their products. Setup: -Cart was super easy to build. Literally takes 3-5 min once you get things unpacked. -App setup was easy and everything works well. For iOS devices, allow the app to share networks on your device. I feel that most issues encountered by people on here regarding connectivity center around having poor WiFi connectivity at the machine’s location. -Cleaner is basically just put it in the pool and press go. Operation: -As mentioned above. Set it in the pool and go. -App is simple to navigate -Remote function works well. Slow but well. -Lift system works well and ejects water to make it easy to remove. My other robot would retain much of the water and lose a lot of debris from the filters when you lifted it out. -Hasn’t gotten stuck. Our other vacuum would high-center itself on the bottom drains. I can’t get this one stuck. -Storage cart is well balanced and functional. Not hard to maneuver. Longevity is a factor so I’ll update or write another review a few months into ownership. ... show more

    • Amazing Cleaner
I will preface this by saying I hate brushing my pool and my pool needs it to keep the algae at bay. This is our 3rd vacuum. The first was whatever the pool company gave us, it was bare bones and only cleaned the bottom marginally. The 2nd was similar to the polaris but died less than 3 weeks in, returned that promptly. The Polaris has been a dream. It picks everything up(we have an extremely messy river birch and also brushes the bottom and walls. No bit of algae in sight. This could all be in my mind but I feel like I may be using less chlorine as well as this thing has kept my pool so clean. This little robot is worth every penny. It’s super easy to use, I have not been able to get the app to work but I don’t feel I even need that function. I just turn it on when I put it in the pool anyway.
