  • Excellent in-ground pool vacuum
Style: Cleaner
After using the Cordless Robotic Pool Cleaner for my second season, I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. It's completely transformed my pool maintenance routine, eliminating the need for manual sweeping or vacuuming. The cleaner is incredibly efficient, covering my entire pool with ease and operating flawlessly for 60-90 minutes on a single charge. Its rechargeable battery is a standout feature, offering convenience and sustainability. The IPX8 waterproof rating gives me confidence in its durability and long-term performance in water. My pool, which is around 15,000 gallons, is kept spotlessly clean, thanks to this device. It manages to pick up debris and leaves effectively, ensuring the water is always inviting and clear. The convenience of setting it up and letting it run its course has freed up so much of my time and effort. Overall, this Cordless Robotic Pool Cleaner has been a fantastic investment for my in-ground pool. Its automatic and efficient cleaning capability has made pool maintenance virtually effortless. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to streamline their pool care and enjoy a pristine swimming environment with minimal effort. ... show more

  • Surprisingly good
Style: Cleaner
I gotta say, I'm impressed with this little monster. I've had it just over a week now and used it several times to clean my 16' x 32' rectangular pool. The pool is 3' deep at both ends and 5' deep in the middle, making the slope well within the specified 15 degree limit. My wife named the little guy Herbie, because he looks like the Love Bug from the movie. About the performance: my pool litter is mainly comprised of ash tree leaves, pine needles and fine desert dust. This robot picks it all up, no problem. I've always owned pressure-side cleaners from Ray Vac to Polaris 360. This robot cleans at least as well as they did within its 90 minute cycle. It helps if I use the pole brush to push the silt out of the corners of the pool before it runs, as when the Paxcess gets to the radius at the base of the walls its suction gates are sometimes raised too far from the plaster to pick up everything. But I can't say for sure that it wouldn't eventually scatter the dust and pick it up. I need to try without the brushing to know for sure. But as for leaves and pine needles on the floor of the pool, they're all gone within 90 minutes. What Paxcess doesn't do: It doesn't climb walls, more than just the radius at the base. It also won't get onto steps or ledges. It doesn't brush the surface. It has a single, stationary, brush that's used to help it pick up debris, not to scrub the surface. It doesn't have intelligence to map the pool, its movements are guided by the directional settings you set on its two jets, and it will take some experimentation to get them set right to cover the entire pool. Mine was spending 90% of its time in one half of my pool until I spent an hour or so watching it and fiddling with settings on the jets.. not unlike the pressure-side cleaners I've owned. But once dialed in, it covers every part of the pool. It doesn't stay in the pool and run in the background or on a timer. When you need the pool cleaned, you turn it on, drop it in and let it run, then pull it out after 90 minutes (it stops near the side of the pool where you can grab its string/handle, but sometimes I need to use a pole to reach it, no big issue). Then hose it out and put it back on the charger. It will be ready to go again in about 4 hours. At about half the price of a pressure-side cleaner and about a third the cost of a plug-in robotic cleaner, I think this performs at least as well as the former, and probably nearly as good as the latter, if you don't mind starting and stopping it each time. And cleaning it out is easy. Other reviewers have included photos of the screen and holding area. Both are the size of the entire chassis of the unit, so there is plenty of screen and capacity. As with all rechargeable things, I'm sure the battery will degrade over time, and I'm hopeful that replacement batteries will be available (maybe they already are, I haven't looked). But overall for the price, and if you don't mind manually brushing the walls and steps once in a while, this is a great cleaner. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

  • Dead after one use.
Style: Cleaner
I bought this vacuum towards the end of pool season last year, put the pool away and didn’t use it until a few weeks ago. It worked fine the first time I used it. Picked up debris and was an easy clean. The next day I tried charging it and put it back in the water to no avail. There was a blinking blue light, I googled and saw this may be an internal error, so I emailed AIPER since I saw their name was on the inside of the vacuum. Customer service was of no help, I was offered a $30 coupon to buy another vacuum from their website. When I declined they offered me a vacuum for half off, for only $160! Wow how great, I would love to spend more money on a new vacuum after I ALREADY spent money on a one time use machine. ... show more

  • Only worked for one summer
Style: Cleaner
I loved this little vacuum! I recently installed an above ground pool (in 2021), but have no deck around it. This makes it difficult to vacuum with a traditional pool vac unless you climb in with it (which is too chilly to hop in right now). So when I found this cordless vac, I was excited. It worked pretty well (with only a couple of minor issues) last summer. It picked up even fine dirt/debris along with leaves and bigger things. I just opened my pool last weekend. It was clean until a storm came along and dropped a bunch of tree debris in there. I had my little cordless vac charged and ready to go and now it won't work! The blue light flashes rapidly, meaning there is something wrong with the device. Called customer service on Monday and they said I had to email a video of the pool cleaner in the pool and when it was charging. Did that right away and still no response after 48 hours. Called again today (Wednesday), and they did not pick up the phone (had to leave a message). I can't wait for weeks for a new robot pool cleaner to come in the mail. Looks like I'll be ordering a more expensive brand from my local pool company this week. At least if that craps out I can get a replacement right away. If I hear back from customer service and get some type of timely resolution, I'll update my review. Update: It took a couple of weeks, but customer service finally got back to me via email. At first they were only going to send me a part for the vac, but once they saw my review they offered me a free replacement or a full refund. My pool had been open for a bit already and I couldn't wait weeks for a response, so I had already went and purchased the Dolphin from my local pool place. Therefore, I chose to get the full refund, which they did give me. So I upgraded my rating from 1 star to 4. ... show more
