My husband ordered this for when we want to grill quick and easy. We have a large Weber, but it's not practical for a couple burgers for just the two of us. My first comment when he showed it to me was, "oh, isn't that cute" It' smaller than I expected, but it's mighty fine for the two of us. Hubby says he needs some lessons on "grillin" as this is different from cooking in a Weber. The only reason for the 4 stars is, I'm curious how long the bottom where you put the charcoal with last. It appears to be quite thin. The juices from the burgers dripped down in the box and that was a mess to clean up - Aluminum foil next time! Aluminum foil might also extend the life of the bottom of the charcoal box/bin or whatever you call that thing that holds the hot coals...:-) ... show more

I wanted take time and check this grill out probably. We had a three day weekend at the river and it performed wonderfully! Easy to store, clean and use! I purchased this grill for the holiday weekend, and so far I have used it twice. It was not difficult to assemble, and it is very portable. I wish it had a cover, but I cooked hotdogs, sausages, chicken, potatoes, and mushrooms. I like the fact that the grill was blazing. I agree with the suggestion to line the bottom of the grill with aluminum foil. I am satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

I really enjoyed using this BBQ. It had enough space to cook 2 corn cobs , 3 pounds of chicken on skewers (kabob) and some veggies . I also purchased a small metal smoker tube that fit well underneath and used a spare electric George Forman grill cover ; I bought $10 thick cut bacon and smoked it with a few charcoal bricks/ applewood for 30 minutes. I put the bacon on a pan that had holes to drain the grease off and keep the bacon supported. By far the BEST bacon I have ever had!!!! And all that it cost was las than $40 ???? I’m so happy I want to buy 1-2 more of these things , I suggest it after trying out . I like backpacking and these are perfect , and I will be able to pack multiple to make a Feast , 3 of these would be plenty for 12-15 people ... anyways.. the item seems sturdy , well made , and is VERY portable and lightweight . I’ve used it twice, and it even cools down rather quickly (15-20 minutes for me) . Fantastic for under $20 ... show more

Stear clear of this product. I took it camping, used Charcoal like directed, as it heated the top wire buckled, the paint melted off. It's cheap metal. It was used once and tossed as a second use would probably cause it to fall apart. Made in China. Not worth it. SPEND THE MONEY ON A REAL CHARCOAL Grill. ... show more

    • exactly what I needed when the power went off

We Californians had to deal with our power company, PG&E, turning off our power for days at a time this summer, because of very dry conditions, excessive high heat and extreme winds.(Climate change is real, people) Our apartment is small , we have no yard of our own, and not a lot of money so didn't have any sort of outdoor grill. This little grill was just perfect for our cooking needs during the power-outs and priced reasonably. It's small, but sufficient for cooking chicken & burgers when you want to (or forced) cook outdoors. Cleaned up easily (I lined it with foil) and when the power came back, it folded nicely to tuck away in a small space to await the next power out. Fairly simple design. Plan on spending an hour or more if you’re not mechanically savvy. The manual depicts the grill’s diagram photos difficult to compare them against the actual hardware. The number 2 and 3 screws are confusing in the manual because they both look the same size. The longest one of the two goes on the grill cover and the other goes on the top grill rack for maximum operation. Other than that it was ok. Also, work on one section at a time. Whatever you do, don’t tight a screw until you get them all in. For instance, if your installing the handle connect the number 4 screw and nut. Don’t tighten them until you get all 4 screws connected to the nuts. Then tighten then in place. It’s always one screw to make the job hard. Take your time, this may take two people depending on the person. ... show more
