  • Get it! You won't be sorry! Had it for 3 months now.
Color: X2-Grey
OMG this bike is changing my life. Lol. -Easy but lots of steps to assemble it. Very forgiving if you put something on wrong, easy to take it off and correct it. There are videos to! Took me 1.5-2 hrs to assemble it. -It is solid! Very good quality! It's super quiet too. *If you have hardwood floors, for goodness sake, get a rug! Otherwise it's just an ER trip waiting to happen! When I went to adjust it on my hardwood floor, it practically slipped out from under me and so did both of my feet. Lol. I actually got a nice 5x3 ft rug from Walmart for like $12. -I have a tiny studio apt and thought I could never get any exercise equipment because I don't have room. Well, let me tell you! When I'm done, I fold it and put in the corner and takes up very little space. It doesn't look ugly either. -I love that I can put my phone or my tablet on the little shelf! -The computer readout is really big, so if you have trouble with your eyesight this is perfect! - I love that if I put my hands on the handles it will tell me what my heart rate is! -My favorite part is being able to adjust the bike. When my back is hurting I can still get my exercise in by adjusting it to a recumbent bike where you sit back against the backrest and it's a little bit lower. When my back is just fine I can adjust it to a regular sit up bike. -The arm resistance bands are no joke! I get a really good workout while I'm riding the bike by doing curls and exercises to work every area of muscle on my arms and shoulders. Sorry I don't know the names of the arm exercises I do. I kind of have to be careful because sometimes I get sore. Lol. *I've had it for 3 months now. I've increased my time on it steadily. It is still just as solid as it was when I put it together! ... show more

  • BARWING, bar none! You get more than for what you pay for.
Color: X2-Grey
Excellent bang for the buck. Have been using it for at least 2+ weeks now. The base is sturdy and stable. The seat is somewhat wobbly but it's because of its tilt adjustment nature -- any hinges that allows angle adjustment to the seat will tend to wobble. The wobble isn't that bad, just noticeable. I will point out below the relevance of this seat tilt feature, and why the "wobble" is a fair enough trade off for the "seat tilt" feature. The seat is usable enough for a 20-30 minute duration. Then the cushion becomes noticeably uncomfortable. But that's ok, I only need it for 20-30 mins anyway. More than 30 mins of cycling leads to muscle break down, so I keep it below 30. If you plan to use it beyond 30 mins regularly, you might want to invest on a seat cushion add-on. Equipment footprint is greatly understated especially when your trying to fit it in a small home gym set up. Assembly was pretty straight forward. Did it myself in about 2 hours. Resistance bands are a welcome bonus. The cycling motion is smooth, unstrained. Occasionally the left pedal will have a "sticky" point where it clunks, but sometimes it doesn't. I still have to figure out where it's coming from, although it does not take away from the function of the machine. It's just something I'm suspecting to be a potential problem in the future. I was looking through cardio/warm-up equipment for my home gym, and was deciding among 3 form factors: an elliptical, a stepper or stationary cycle. Most steppers for home set up use pressure valves. Smallest footprint between the 3 form factors. Unfortunately, most steppers have a very shallow step depth. The experience is not even close to stairmaster-type machines you find in the gyms. Most of these home units are the "in-front-of-the-tv" kind, not a set-up that's befitting an actual home gym, at least in my taste. Then there are the ellipticals. Ellipticals will take up the biggest amount of space in a small home gym setup between the 3, no matter how small of an elliptical it is. The bigger the elliptical, the more stable and reliable it is. If I had to choose an elliptical, it should have 3 things: a seat, a tablet/phone holder, and a smooth glide. The best way to find the right elliptical is to test it in store, then find the model online. Unfortunately with this COVID fiasco, store hopping to compare equipment isn't as accessible, so buying blindly online is obviously a higher risk. A few ellipticals online had what I was looking for, sans being able to test. Advantages of an elliptical is simultaneous upper and lower body motion while in an upright position, not just working extremities but also postural muscles. Then there's the stationary cycles: foldable bikes, spinning bikes, recumbent bikes, under-the-desk-cycles. A spinning bike was overkill for my needs, especially the price for well-rated spinning bikes. Recumbent bikes took the most space, just like an elliptical. Under-the-desk cycles, you spend more for what you're getting. Then there's the foldable bikes. Had to find the one that would fit my budget of under $200, and meet the basics of what I'm looking for: a tablet/phone holder, a small footprint, and a smooth ride. The footprint on this bike is great. Even when you open it up to "recumbent mode" the footprint is still small, compared to an actual dedicated recumbent bike, but you still get the recumbent seating profile. And the best part with this Barwing bike is that the seat has a TILT feature that allows you to levelize the seat so it can be horizontal (instead of tilted forward up) while in a recumbent position. MOST of these folding bikes DO NOT have this feature. And it makes all the difference in comfort. Imagine cycling for 20-30 minutes with the front end of the seat tilted and poking up -- sliding and pushing your tailbone back, curling forward the normal curve of your low back, and poking your inner thighs with that seat front protrusion. The backrest for this seat is also a great feature. You won't appreciate the value of a backrest on a stationary bike until you have one. For any bike that claims to be able to go into a recumbent position, a backrest is a MUST HAVE. Then there's the added resistance bands. These bands can now supplement upper body movements while cycling. Pretty much comparable to the purpose of upper body movements you get from an elliptical, but with more degrees of freedom: reach overhead, swing your arms back, to the side, do bicep curls, triceps kickbacks, shoulder flyes, etc. Obviously, you don't get postural muscle involvement in a stationary bike vs an elliptical, but this wasn't a primary consideration because it was just going to be a warm-up/cool-down and/or shredding phase cardio equipment. With this bike, I can use it in recumbent, semi-recumbent or upright, all in a small footprint. About the cycling resistance, I don't know yet. I should have tested the touted "magnetic resistance" but I have only used it on the zero setting for now, only because I use it as a warm up machine before I get into powerlifting/weight lifting. So far, a good product. A few improvements could have been made, but for about $179+ it's definitely a good buy for what you get. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Good bike
Color: App-X2-Grey
I like the bike. Assembly was easy enough for my 15 year old to do. The seat is big enough to fit my hips. It’s nice and quiet. I do not like that I have to twist off the knob to adjust the seat height and to fold it to put away. A pull knob would be so much easier and less of a hassle. Other than that I like the bike ... show more

  • Excellent exercise bike for low price.
Color: X2-Grey
For people that don't have the room to buy a treadmill, and looking for a good cheaper exercise bike, this is the 1 to get. You don't have to spend $300 on a Mongoose bike and worry about getting a flat tire. This exercise bike is made from China ( who cares lol ), but it's very good quality, takes up little room, adjustable seat heights, has a tension knob to make your pedaling easy or harder, the 1 minor thing is that it uses batteries for the digital display, but not an issue at all. I used my iPhone to set a timer, I figured it takes 20 minutes to go 5 miles and I burned 266 calories, so even if the digital display stopped, I know now 20 minutes gets me 5 miles and I burned 266 calories. I would buy this for sure if you are looking for a cheaper priced exercise bike that works like a charm. ... show more

Color: X3-Black
I bought this for us to take camping so we could continue our biking exercises as we travel and I was not expecting a lot, but this has surprised me it is very sturdy and it cycles smoothe and is adjustable in pedalling difficulty from easy to hard, seat height, everything has worked as advertised even to a correct pulse read out, does not shake or move about with me at 5'10" and 210 lbs, if you need a bike that folds up to take very little space, even unfolded, you will get your moneys worth, p.s. we bike average 50 mi a day on it for over a week and it's still tight as new ... show more

  • Silent, Smooth and Just About Perfect Silent, Smooth and Just About Perfect
Color: X2-Grey
I had an appointment with my physiatrist scheduled and researched folding exercise bikes until I could talk to him. When he told me that a bike would be good for my arthritic hip in both recumbent and upright positions, I went home and ordered the Barwing that night. Assembly was a breeze. If I didn’t have trouble getting on the floor and back up, this 69-year-old woman could have done it in less than an hour. There’s no sorting through a big bag of screws and trying to figure out what goes where. Two screws for attaching the computer are in the bag with the tools. Everything else is in place. You remove the bolt, slide the part in place and put the bolt back on. Barwing has a YouTube channel and I’d recommend pulling up the “Barwing X1 Bike Assemble Video”. Any time I had the slightest question as to what the manual meant, the video made it instantly clear. Once I had it assembled, I started pedaling in the recumbent position with the seat in the tilted back position. It is comfortable. The tension increase with each number on the dial is noticeable but not large. I’ll be able to increase the resistance slowly. (I’m on 7 now. I can’t imagine anyone using it on 1 or 2.) I’ve been using it twice a day for a week and it is completely silent. The spot where the front and back cross, which you have to put one foot over to get on or off is 18” high when the bike is recumbent and 21” high when it’s in the upright position. I have a 28” inseam so I am very careful getting on and off but I think it wouldn’t tip over unless I really messed up. I haven’t started using the arm/leg pulls yet. There is a fair amount of (non-adjustable) tension. They weren’t really a factor in my choosing the Barwing but I will use them. Folding and unfolding the bike is a little difficult but I think I’ll get better with practice. The bike weighs close to 50 pounds. That’s what makes it so stable. The competitors that weigh 30 pounds also have a 225 pound capacity. When it is completely folded, it can stand upright on its own (although I will keep it near a wall, just in case). There are a few very minor nits to pick. 1) I only tried it in upright position once. When I tilted the seat forward, it felt very shallow and uncomfortable. I’ll have to figure out some light padding when I’m ready to use it upright more often. 2) I don’t like the pedals. Instead of just a strap, there’s a weird, difficult-to-adjust cage that you have to put your foot in. 3) The wires that go to the computer are long enough that I’m afraid of snagging them. I’m using little bungee cords to hold them near the frame without putting any tension on them. 4) The computer is well-angled for reading while upright but it’s a little hard to see what metric it’s on when you are recumbent. All-in-all, highly recommended. ... show more

  • It's not living up to my expectations (yet)
Color: App-XB01-Black
I have contacted support and am waiting for a response, but the bike I wanted needs to be able to fold and save space and despite troubleshooting, this bike does not do that. It was easy to put together and I like the resistance band features and having a place to put my phone or tablet. I like the wheels, but without being able to fold the bike before moving it makes the wheels obsolete. Cushion isn't as comfortable as I would like. It's the standard wide cushioned seat most recumbent bikes have and gets uncomfortable after a while. I don't notice much noise during use, but I typically use this while watching a show either, usually with a Bluetooth headset of some kind, but even without it seems fairly quiet. I could cycle while watching a movie in the middle of the night with my headphones on and not disturb anyone sleeping. I just wish I could utilize all the features I wanted. ... show more

Color: X2-Grey
Had MPFL / TTO knee reconstruction a little over 6 weeks ago & I’m at the point in my recovery where it’s time to start building back muscle so my PT recommended I get a stationary bike to use daily! I have used it a couple of times & it’s been great so far! It’s definitely helping. I love that it can fold up for storage - I live in a small apartment so that was a must for me! My boyfriend assembled it in about an hour. He said the directions were pretty straight forward. Feels really sturdy even with it on carpet. After getting it all together - one of the cables was missing a screw with nut to secure it. I am not using the cables so it wasn’t a big deal but it still should have been included which is the reason for the star dock ! Other down side is there is no cup holder - I didn’t realize how important that was to me till I was on the bike using it lol! It does have a spot for your phone, I like to read my kindle while biking so it’s nice not having to hold it The seat is tolerable but definitely pretty hard! I will have to find a cover that can fit over it as it doesn’t seem replacing the seat is an option. I’m around 5’-4” and I was worried it was going to be too tall for me to get onto it by myself but I’m able to get on without any assistance! Overall it’s great for what I need it for & I was happy with the price! ... show more
