UPDATE: I've been using this PC for several years now with no issues. I finally splurged for a legit weight that would get me to 15 PSI without needing to make a modification to the original hardware. Right away I noticed that the "legit" 25 PSI weight felt lighter. After weighing both I determined that the original weight was in fact HEAVIER than the "legit" weight built to reach15 psi. My educational guess is that the included weight will reach 15 PSI but the pressure gauge could potentially be incorrect. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought this PC for mycology purposes. The large capacity is great and I've been using it on my induction burner, no problem. This would be a 5 star product if it could reach 15psi out of the box. Fortunately the pressure guage appears to be accurate and I managed to resolve my problem with some magnets and bottle caps. You can spend an extra $25 on a 5-10-15psi weight but I chose be frugal. I've been using this product/method for about a year now with zero contam in grain or agar and zero issues. I hope this helps you. ... show more

I have wanted to learn how to can for a long time. I finally went to learn from an expert. The American is what all the best canners use but I couldn't come up with $400 to start this hobby. I looked over all the less expensive choices and took a chance. Using this pot has been a breeze. I love everything about it from start to finish. The lid locks on nicely and easily. The symbols on the lid and handle are like "locking for dummies." That helped my confidence in using a pressure pot. Then it heats up. Hmmm, when to add the weight? No second guessing here. The pot has a secondary little vent near the handle that pops closed when it is time to put the weight on the spout. The gauge has markings for where to have the needle for both pressure canning and water bath. I have done both now and can't wait to make something else. I have already made fresh corn relish, mango salsa, regular salsa, beef and potatoes, chicken stew, and bourbon bacon jam. This is amazing. I thought this would be my "starter pot" but it's now my right hand in the kitchen. Love it! ... show more

    • Don't Bother Almost Blew Up on me
1st time using it brand new and it leaked from the sides and handles.... the screws were loose, the top handle wasn't flush with the bottom handle. The gasket was loose and I couldn't get it to seal. A LOUD screeching noise came out of it. Steam valve was spinning out of control. Water splurging everywhere and I almost got burned trying to reach around to turn the stove off. Ruined several jars of oyster mushroom grain. Have to wait till tomorrow for another pressure cooker because stores are all closed but I have 24 jars sitting there probably going bad..... wtf.. I AM FURIOUS 😠 ... show more

Made my first batch and got it to 12 pounds with no problem. The only downfall is getting the lid lock shut once you learn how to get that on ,,it locks. Very happy.
