Update: After several email exchanges the seller sent a *perfect* replacement - in spite of the item being "out of stock" and obviously very much in demand. The purchase was frustrating but ultimately I received the correct item, it works perfectly, and I appreciate the "above and beyond" customer service. Many thanks!!! I ordered the tabletop patio heater and put it together when it arrived about a month ago. We finally had some chilly weather last weekend and I got a fresh propane canister and tried to attach it. And tried. And tried. And tried. Finally I flipped the heater over and took a good look at the tank attachment and saw it had no threads, making it impossible to attach the canister. I contacted Shinerich, the seller/manufacturer, and at their request sent photo's showing the defect. They sent me the tracking number for a replacement heater THEN sent me emails asking if I was using the correct propane canister, and finally (one email per night) sent an email notifying me the heater is out of stock. Now I get to start over, requesting return instructions and PLEASE GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. The lack of quality control is scary; if I weren't so used to the frustration of attaching propane canisters I might've started the heater without the canister properly attached. Boom. Like fireworks. No thanks. I've spent thousands of dollars on cheap crap on Amazon and this is my first review. The poor workmanship and "caveat emptor" attitude needs to change. In the future I will pay a bit more to buy products from manufacturers who stand behind their work. ... show more

I thought three, but had issue with pilot light not staying lit. Customer service was very responsive and fixed the problem much to my delight! Also, it’s true that the output of heat is not tremendous, but it never advertised as being a massive heater! It’s meant for a table & a person! Not heating a whole patio. ... show more

    • How Propane Heaters Work
I ordered the heater months ago and it finally arrived this week. It needs assembly and the instructions are clear enough. But I did not understand how a gas appliance works so I had trouble lighting it. I did not understand the role of the pilot and the thermocouple. I did not understand how to purge the device. So, if you buy one and do not have experience with gas heaters, get on UTube for help because there are some really good explanations there. Be careful assembling the device. It is held together with screws into sheet metal and you can easily strip the threads in the sheet metal. It gets quite hot - we used it to warm up our feet while we sit around a fire table. It helps. My wife thinks it is rather ugly. But warm and ugly on a 30 degree porch soon becomes warm and friendly. ... show more

    • Poor design
This is a terrible design. the "off" switch does not shut it off, so if you don't unscrew the propane bottle after shutting it off all off the propane leaks out. (this is the way it is designed, not a flaw in my particular heater.) Also leaks out if you don't have a secure replacement cap . The propane bottle takes two people to get it on, so the whole thing is a waste. ... show more

    • Not much heat
We have the larger heaters on our patio, however, they are too big for our porch. So I chose this table top heater. Poor decision as it does not give off much heat.

    • Not worth it. Don't waste your time or money
don't buy it unless you have a real, real, real, small room to heat. we had it in a tent and our small electric heater did a better job. The only thing I liked about it was it is purty. that's about all. I thought it was just a bad unit, so we sent it back and ordered another one, with the same results.     • Amazon/seller connect isnt jiving.
I paid $130+tax for this item on prime and awaited delivery for almost a week, i believe. Took delivery in ne fl almost at the tail end of our cold snap. Item has been used 2or3times and now amazon is sending me price drops, but wont honor the price drop. When assembling, one of the shield screws stripped cause the dome was warped. How does something drop 30bucks in less than 2 weeks and not be honored?!?! ... show more

Not recommended for home assembly. Screw mounts of the base do not fit in to gap between the internal assembly and the rim. Top will not twist into alignmnet with bottom (screw mounts on base run into the internal mountingbrackets of the top mechanism). NO AMOUNT OF PHYSICAL MANIPULATION allows these parts to fit together. Warranty does not cover shipping - expense and time involved in disassembly, repackaging and return is impractical.
