This skillet has quickly become a staple in my kitchen because it balances that heavy heirloom quality with modern convenience. It feels sturdy and solid in the hand without being impossible to lift and the pre-seasoned surface was surprisingly smooth right out of the box. I really appreciate the thoughtful additions like the silicone handle cover which offers a comfortable grip and some heat protection though I still keep a mitt handy just in case. The glass lid is a feature I did not realize I needed until I started using it as it allows me to monitor simmering sauces or keep smoke in without lifting the cover and losing heat. Cooking performance has been impressive across the board whether I am using it on the stovetop or the smoker. The heat distribution is even so I have not had to deal with hot spots or burnt edges on my cornbread. It handles high heat beautifully for searing steaks and even after hours on the grill it shows no signs of warping. I have made everything from cast iron pizza to mac and cheese and the food releases easily without sticking. The pour spouts are also a great design choice that makes draining bacon grease much cleaner and easier than with standard pans. Maintenance has been far simpler than I expected for cast iron since it cleans up quickly with hot water and a light layer of oil prepares it for the next meal. The pan seems to get better with every use and knowing it is built to last a lifetime makes it feel like a smart choice for anyone wanting reliable cookware. Considering the quality of the build and the included accessories like the lid and handle cover it offers excellent value compared to more expensive name brands. I bought this to use on my new smoker, and it has been fantastic. It’s well weighted and feels like the more expensive brands, like Lodge, without the hefty price. It comes pre-seasoned, and the surface was smooth right out of the box with no rough spots or uneven coating, like I’ve seen with other brands. I haven’t had any issues with it warping, even after being on the smoker for 8+ hours. It distributes the heat evenly, so everything, from veggies to steaks, cook consistently, without hot spots. It works flawlessly every single time. I’ve used it for so many things, but my favorites are mac and cheese, cranberry sauce, cornbread, and smoked queso. It’s also great for searing steaks. The glass lid is a nice bonus because I can keep smoke in but still see what’s happening inside. The silicone handle cover makes it easier to move around without feeling like you’re risking a burn. I love that even after hours on the smoker, the pan cleans up easily and the seasoning stays intact. You can’t ask for a higher quality, more reliable cast iron piece that can handle long and steady heat without issue. I’d highly recommend this and would definitely buy it again.

I’m still using my grandmother’s cast iron fry pan. It’s probably more than 59 years old. I wanted to get a housewarming gift for my niece, but wanted something that would be an heirloom piece without breaking my wallet. You can’t beat a cast iron fry pan. This one takes it to the next level though. Since my niece has no comprehension of what it takes to season a pan, a pre-seasoned pan is ideal. She won’t have to spend the time seasoning this before she gets to use it. Unlike a lot of trends in non-stick cookware, cast iron stands the test of time. No scratching or concerns that in 5 years time the materials used have major health risks. The silicone sleeve that can be slid over the handle doesn’t just act as a heat protectant, but definitely helps with grip. The silicone and the textured surface make handling this heavier cookware a bit easier. There is a pour spout that makes saving the precious bacon grease so much easier. The glass lid is not something I’d ever had with my grandma’s but it will make using this pan more versatile. And like the pan it’ll be able to go from stovetop right into the oven.

This cast iron pan has timeless quality, a real heirloom piece. The pan is solid and heavy. It comes nicely seasoned for immediate use, I just wash and wipe it with a little oil after use to keep it nice. This is a practical size for most meals I prep, from pancakes to tacos. It has several practical features that I like, one of which is the helper handle. The helper handle is suitable for both lefties and righties and is used exactly how it sounds, to help lift and better control the pan when moving, dumping, etc. Each side of the frying pan also has a spout for pouring of grease, etc. I like having a glass lid specifically sized for a frying pan finally. It is useful for simmering, keeping warm, etc. and lets me keep an eye on things too. There is a vent in the lid to prevent over boiling. Finally, the frying pan comes with a silicone sleeve for the long handle that keeps the handle cool enough to lift. At the price it is currently selling for, I think it is a bargain.

This is now my to go for reverse sear steaks. I have a pellet grill that does a good job but can't quite get the sear I want. This is where this cast iron pan comes in. I made sure I ordered one thag can fit 2 steaks in it which this does. I use it on my induction cook top that is right next to the grill which I get nice and hot while the steaks are cooking than just burn them a bit on the pan and comes out amazing. The pan is solid and heat up really well and evenly. I like the clear cover and that it comes with a rubber handle cover as sometimes I use it in the stove. Cleaning it is different than a regular pan and I found coarse salt to be the easiest. Every few months I would clean my heavily used cast iron pans with soap and water and season them right after to prevent rust. I find them to be the easier to cook with if used correctly
