Very simple and elegant product. Ordered Tacoma mounting kit (separately) and it took less than 20 min from opening the box to admiring the sleek results. The mounting kit adapts to the built in (standard) rails which is why its so profoundly easy to install. All you need is a 3/4 in socket or wrench. I got this rack to make it easier to transport lumber in short bed. The rack extends just above top of cab allowing easy stacking above cab w/o scratching. And since I am only occasionally buying lumber I did not want to make my truck look like a work/contractor's and get a more bulky rack. This solution is perfect.     • Part was not packed in a box.
Decent part but delivery was bad. The part was not packaged. The powder coating was a little scuffed and it was covered with packaging labels that were difficult to remove. Needed to use acetone to remove adhesive residue.

Mounted it to my Dad's 2015 Colorado after he broke 3 rear windows in 14 months of ownership. Assembled with ease in about 20 minutes. Had to use a hole saw to cut a larger hole in the plastic factory bed liner he has in his truck, but was simple. Yanked on the rack pretty hard and doesn't budge. Feels very stout. So far after 3 weeks, no broken windows. We will see if he can keep the streak alive. ... show more

Real Truck bought out Back Rack but they are the same as the old reliable racks. I returned it only because I did not want to spend an extra $250 for the mounting brackets, so keep that in mind!

Fits my Tacoma perfectly, and very solid. I was impressed with how beefy this is. I was kind of on the fence between this one and the other one made by backrack that is the full frame with the wire mesh inside. I thought that would provide better protection, but didn't look as good. While this one doesn't have the full coverage of the mesh, it isn't as open as I thought it would be and I am confident that it will be adequate for keeping cargo from busting up my rear cab window. ... show more

Came without a box. All scratched up. End caps are now plastic plugs, not welded on caps like they used to be. Quality went down. Returned.

I've been wanting one of these for a long time. Finally received today and installed. The box it came in was destroyed, but the item was unharmed. Not sure if that was Back Rack's issue or Amazon's. The instructions were a bit confusing but figured them out. I ordered the version that would fit with the mfg. tonneau cover. Makes removing it and reinstalling a bit of challenge, but it'll work. ... show more
