Description

Care and Use Instructions: OVEN SAFETY AND STOVETOPS: - Tri-ply stainless steel cookware is oven safe to 500F (350F if using a glass lid) and is compatible on all cooktops / heat sources. Please lift, not drag, cookware off of stovetops to prevent scratching. - Do not use in the microwave or broilerUSE: - Before first use, hand wash with warm soapy water - Preheat your pan on low to medium heat for a couple of minutes. Once heated pour enough cold oil into the pan to cover to cooking surface. - To avoid food sticking while cooking do not disturb the food and allow the natural sugars to caramelize in the pan and release naturally. If your heat is too high sticking may occur so please make sure to use low to medium heat only except for boiling. - Please use oven mitts when removing from the oven as the handles will be hot. - Metal, wood, plastic, and heat resistant nylon tools are safe to use in stainless steel cookware. Do not use knives, sharp kitchen tools or an electric hand mixer in your cookware, as they may scratch lining. CLEANING: - Tri-ply cookware is dishwasher safe, but we recommend hand washing only with warm soapy water. Please allow the pan to cool before washing. - To remove stuck on foods you may: Fill cookware with a small amount of water and place over low heat until food is softened and easy to remove. Use a specialist stainless steel cookware cleaning product and follow the instructions on the label. - Discoloration may occur from using too high of heat. To remove: Rub the cookware with a cloth dampened with lemon juice or white vinegar. Use a specialist stainless steel cookware cleaning product and follow the instructions on the label. HOW TO SEASON CARBON STEEL - STOVE METHOD: - Wash pan with warm soapy water dry with towel and then place on stovetop and heat to ensure the pan is thoroughly dried. - Once pan is dry use oil of choice and with a paper towel apply around the interior and exterior of the pan. You may also continue to rub the pan with a hand towel to ensure the oil is evenly coated throughout the pan. - Place you pan back on the stove and heat until smoking. Be sure to also heat the sides of the pan over the flame to ensure the entire surface area is heated. - Once smoking turn the heat off and allow the pan to cool quickly. HOW TO SEASON CARBON STEEL - OVEN METHOD: - Place a foil lined baking sheet into the bottom rack of your oven. - Preheat your oven to 475F to 500F. -While oven is preheating - Wash pan with warm soapy water dry with towel and then place on stovetop and heat to ensure the pan is thoroughly dried. - One pan is dry use oil of choice and with a paper towel apply around the interior and exterior of the pan. You may also continue to rub the pan with a hand towel to ensure the oil is evenly coated throughout the pan. - Place pan into the fully heated oven upside down on the rack above the foil lined baking sheet. - Leave pan in the oven for an hour. After an hour turn off the oven but leave the pan in there until it is cool to the touch.

Where to start? I bought this set because I'm a huge fan of Babish, but also because our thrift shop pots and pans mishmash was getting infuriating... None of the lids truly fit any of the pots, the pans had lost their coating long ago and were flaking badly... It was a sorry sight. So I tossed them all away and bought this set. Overall I'm glad I did! I've had em for a month now, so now I'll write my review. Pros: The stainless steel pans are very sturdy, easy to work with, easy to clean, generally come out with excellent results. They've been discolored from heat and use, but white vinegar in the dishwater fixed that, they still look brand new. The baking sheets are great so far. The racks are sturdy and I like the two sizes, they're just right. I've pushed em past their recommend max temp a couple times and they take it like a champ. Been handwashing them only, because I saw the warnings in the reviews lol so I can't speak to what a dishwasher will do to em. The blue steel pans were magical at first, nothing stuck at all! It was like a commercial. The color is beautiful and they're pretty versatile. They distrube heat very well! Cons: Mostly my gripe is with the blue steel pans. These are the most used items, naturally, and therefore so far the most worn. I am disappointed that the magical feeling did not last much more than 2 weeks. I thought some folks were over exaggerating in their reviews, but no, two weeks of regular use and the magic coating starts to wash away. The interior has started to get a bit discolored, and where the discoloration is strongest, so too is the stickage. I've started to lean more towards the saute pan just to avoid using the skillets too much. I've followed all the cleaning instructions to the letter, including the seasoning before use and as needed... And have only used silicone or wooden utensils with them... And yet. Truly that's the only con. Even considering the sad state of the blue steel pans, the whole set together is an excellent price and value, especially compared to other competitors in the market, and I would still recommend it highly. The packaging is gorgeous (if a little excessive) and neatly done. I can tell a lot of love went into designing this set. I look forward to the stainless steel and aluminum pieces lasting me years :) ... show more

    • Discoloration After 3 Uses
Purchased this set on Prime Deal Day and I’m so disappointed that after only 3 uses, the color/ coating on the nonstick pan is terribly coming off. I haven’t used the sheet pans yet so I don’t have any input on those but having this issue with the nonstick pans makes this whole set not worth it. Even though they have a 5 star review, I wouldn’t recommend purchasing the set. I’m just glad I didn’t pay for price for it. ... show more

I love Babish and the content he and team produce. The pans are good sizes and were what I was looking for. However, the quality is just ok. They are not bad at all but, I was expecting more. The non stick pans discolored and eroded quickly. I did wash these by hand and with a soft brush. The other pans are not as heavy/durable as I expected.     • Not durable, not worth the money
I have been a long time fan of Babish, so I was very excited for this cookware and had pretty high hopes. Unfortunately, these pans are a pretty big disappointment. I've taken care to season, clean, and maintain them per the instructions, but the carbon steel seasoning is splotchy at best and has begun to discolor. The stainless steel pans discolored after just a couple uses, and the beautiful silver shine that I was excited about when unboxing was gone within a week. Their suggested remedies for this (lemon juice/vinegar) and some store bought products did absolutely nothing to help. The same goes for the sheet pans, discolored after just a couple uses. Additionally, the handle on the saucepan is loose, seemingly due to poor rivets, which happened after a month or two of moderate use. Really a pretty big bummer to spend this amount of money on something from one of my favorite internet personalities, only to be sorely disappointed. I would give 1 star, but they technically still allow me to cook food, so they could be worse I guess. ... show more

I love this set, the stainless pan and pot have been used a bunch since purchasing. Using medium to low heat took some getting used to but after that learning curve it’s a great cooking experience! My issues started with both blue steel pans, I only found out I needed to season the pan after checking the description (should be inside the shipping material) but the outer layer scrapes off even with wooden utensils and when cleaning with soft rags. I am no longer able to use either pan since they look like the picture provided and smell like iron/ blood if I clean them. Seasoning again after the coating came off helped but the damage only spread. On another positive note we use the baking sheets and wire racks daily and haven’t had a single issue. ... show more

I just got this and I am very happy! The pans and pots are a delight to handle 💕 Unfortunately in my box the smaller tray (in first picture I hold the grate for it) was missing but considering no one else had this happen maybe its a fluke. It is very efficiently and safely packaged, I cant dream of repacking it back so I will just keep it as is I think. ... show more

This is what you want for all of your cooking needs. If you are a beginner cook or a veteran home cook looking to replace some old stuff. You can tell the attention to detail that was put into every piece. The wire racks are slightly taller than restaurant supply standard wire racks. Putting the roast /vege above the sides of the sheet pan. Metal pans clean great. Everything is made of high quality stainless. Pots are heavy. Cooking pans are well made and heavy. Nothing cheap or flimsy in any part of this set. You can tell Babish put a lot of time into getting this all correct. Bravo ... show more
