Okay let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way: IT AIN’T CHEAP. If you want cheap Harbor Freight is your friend. On the other hand if you want premium dust extraction that works seamlessly with the Festool lineup then this is a must have. I can sand indoors and have zero dust in the air. For someone that works in a customer’s house that is non-negotiable. Of course you have to have other Festool tools to accomplish this but that is what you invest into the line up for: seamless integration that provides top notch, no compromise performance. Each Festool product is designed to work seamlessly with the other Festool products. This dust extractor is no exception. The integrated Bluetooth makes it ideal for remote start (with the optional blue tooth remote) before you begin sanding/cutting to ensure 100% dust pickup. Or sync the power tool battery with the dust extractor to have it start as soon as you turn on the tool it’s hooked up to. Expensive? Of course. Worth it? Yes. I'm totally impressed with the dust extraction and the noise level. You can turn up the power and it's louder, but for my typical sanding needs i can keep it at lowest setting and it works wonderfully

    • It’s an addiction once you buy one.
Not just this product, but the sanders I have bought have made my life so much easier. The product is not cheap, maybe overpriced compared to some other alternatives, but everything works together. As I said in the title, it is addictive. Sanding is the least enjoyable thing in most jobs, but this dust collector, twined with their sander makes it much more tolerable. The paper does help, good quality paper and sander. It is my understanding, that contractors working in peoples homes must use HEPA filter dust collectors, this I can assure you leaves very little dust behind. Hope this helps. ... show more

    • Works well for smaller saw dust.
Works really good for fine sawdust from my sander and sliding compound miter saw. Does not work well for vacuuming up from a router (hose is to small and the longer wood pieces stop the hose up)
