We ordered two gates to keep a new dog from getting into the rooms where our cats eat and have their litter boxes. The "cat door" was the feature we wanted. Overall these gates are sturdy, relatively easy to put together (the first one took about 20 minutes to figure out but the second one went up in a couple minutes) and look nice. The best features are that they open both ways, can be opened with one hand, close by themselves but also can stay open if you push them all the way open. We purchased the black ones and it was nice to have a choice of color. Unfortunately we were unable to keep the dog so we returned the gates but there were no down-sides to these gates and would highly recommend them. ... show more

We bought this to keep our baby safe and accommodate our cat. The cat door is small but more than enough room for our fully grown 9 pound cat. She was able to use this very easily. This gate was perfect to fit any opening within the sizes given! This gate has 3 extender pieces to help you get to the desired width needed! We had bought a similar gate a few days before purchasing this gate. That gate would’ve worked except that our opening, which was between the 29-48 inches, was at the worst width. There were only 2 extender pieces with the other gate. One was too small and the other was too big to fit our opening. This gate is perfect! It also had a cat door, which keeps the puppy out of the cat food and litter! It also has a bommer hinge so the gate swings closed after you walk through. This is a nice gate but I don’t think it’s worth 80 bucks. There’s hardly any installation instructions. I first installed it how the diagram shows and found that the cat hole was too low to the ground for my average sized cat to walk through comfortably. So I had to suspend the gate in the air about a half an inch for her to walk through it. And in doing so, the bottom latch does not connect all the way. The top latch still works fine so it’s not a deal breaker. I like that the cat hole is not large like almost every other pet hole that I’ve seen on similar gates. That’s why I bought this one. The auto-close feature causes the gate to slam shut very loudly, which I don’t like all that much. But all in all, it’s a nice gate and gets the job done.     • Convenient Gate; Slightly Awkward for Large Openings

We are using this to separate a rowdy dog from a cat and it works nicely. We love that it's easy for humans to pass through as needed/leave open, and then it's easy to keep closed when we are away and can't supervise the furkids. Would buy again, except... Be prepared for stress with the install. Maybe meditate first. We placed this in a wide hallway, which required use of the extenders. These made the gate far less secure and kept falling apart as we tried to get the gate into place. It became a two-person job. Directions were not great. Of all the furniture in our house it definitely was high on the list of annoying to install (and I built an entire laundry room out of IKEA, so that's saying something). ... show more

I've had this a few weeks now. I love it!!! I have it on my bedroom door so that my cats can be in the bedroom and dogs can't get in to bother them. My cats feel so much better now that they can run away from the dogs when they want to and know they will be safe. Because it's my bedroom I am in and out of the room all the time. The latch to open the gate is quick and easy, the space to step through is not a bit of a problem, the ability to stay open at 90 degrees with easy when I want it to is great, and this thing is made very well. Finally I am able to put it on my door casing in anyway that it does not interfere with shutting moor when I want. I'd buy a dozen more if I need them. Only ONE caution! Do not clip any zip ties before reading the directions. Some must stay in place until assembly is completed. ... show more
