The media could not be loaded. Once we got the measurements and read the first page or two of the instruction manual, we had no problem installing the gate. It was super easy, easier than I even anticipated. Just want to stress the importance of not messing with the tightening once you’ve cut the red zip tie that has a sign that says do not cut until after install. It messes with the way the gate shuts. Make sure it’s secure, cut the red zip tie and don’t mess with it. It works beautifully. I’m so happy with it. Easily worth the money. We’re getting at least 3 more because we have 3 levels of our home and 2 sets of stairs so we’ll have a total of 4 gates. We simply used the pressure based install rather than the screws because our home is newly renovated and we don’t want to mess up the walls and the brand new banisters. It’s insane how sturdy this baby gate is. I’m thoroughly impressed and I absolutely love how nice it looks. 10 out of 10 recommend. UPDATE::: This update has everything to do with having to remove the gate and then reinstall it. I genuinely believed once you install the gate (using the pressure mounts only) that it absolutely could not be removed and reinstalled. Boy was I wrong. Yes, the initial instructions say not to cut the big red zip tie until you’ve finished the installation, but it’s not as scary as they make it seem. You can literally remove this gate however many times you need to and then reinstall it just fine. The one thing you will need, however, is heavy duty zip ties (or multiple regular but elongated zip ties). Which we had because we had been in the process of moving . Because we moved into our newly renovated home very recently from a super tiny 2 bedroom apartment, we had to buy a lot of new furniture. I was concerned about the fact that we wouldn’t be able to reinstall the baby gates if we had to remove them and we were fully prepared to just chuck these in that case and buy 2 new gates. I mean, what the heck are you supposed to do with a toddler running around? Just not put in a gate because it’s gonna get in the way 3 weeks later when the furniture is delivered??? Of course not. What happens when you remove the pressure from the pressure mounts is that the door part of the gate basically separates and your first instinct is to panic. Which is exactly what I did. But fear not, for I have the answer! You’re absolutely going to need to use some brute force and some sort of zip tie, be it heavy duty or just basic, but what you need with the zip tie is to simply “scrunch” it to the point you can get the gate back into the place you had it installed initially. For us, we had them at the top and bottom of our staircase. As long as it fits, all you have to do is reinstall it like you did the first time. And I did this for the bottom and top of our staircase. Once you get the gate to fit through the space you needed it to fit into, you just keep spinning the little black piece around the screw on both sides and both top and bottom until it’s back into place and BAM it works just like it did before. Because of this, I am an even bigger fan of these gates. They look amazing they function perfectly and you can remove them over and over if necessary. Freaking awesome. Again, this is only for the pressure mount option. I have no idea if this works for the permanent screw mount. ... show more

Ordered this to keep our 8 week old puppy out of parts of the house and in an area where any accidents can be easily cleaned up. The gate arrived sealed in the original packaging. Once opened up, I found all the parts to be attached to the main gate with white zip ties. Once installed, I cut the RED zip tie for the gate to have it’s final tension on the walls. It is important to keep the 1/8 inch gap between the gate and the frame prior to cutting the red zip tie. I used the 1/8 inch gap tool provided. The gate works perfectly in both directions. This has the option to be used as a pressure mounted gate OR a permanent, hard-mounted gate. Comes with everything you need for either option. If you're using it for kids, I'd hard-mount it for safety since it's metal. We are using it as a pressure mounted gate at bottom of stairs to keep new puppy from going upstairs. Easy to put together but REALLY FOLLOW ALL THE DIRECTIONS, and don't undo the big zip-tie on the walk-thru gate until you have it all together. It's super sturdy, not going anywhere unless a human falls on it. Even our other 2 dogs (90 and 50 lbs.) won't be able to move it. And it looks nice! ... show more

Update 7/13/2023 …. I was immediately contacted by the Company to address my concerns. They provided recommendations for the spindles which worked very well. They do stand by the recommendation that you use screws to attach the cups. I used some double sided tape. I thought this might be easier to remove. At this point I haven’t removed the cups … mainly because they are securely stuck to the wall Bottom line …. The gates seemed secure for the 5 days the 15 month old was in the house. We found the usage of the gates relatively easy. We will continue to use the product, but you still need to watch the small child especially as they get heavier. We found the 15 month old did regularly push on the gates (they held, but the child needs to be closely supervised) Original Review: We purchased 2 of these gates ... one for the top of the stairs and one for the bottom ... when our toddler grandchildren visited for a week. First, you really need wide flat surfaces for each of the pressure points. Our stairs have round spindles and it was difficult to secure the unit to the round spindles; I used zip ties to further secure the unit to the spindle side. Second, the descriptions indicate that "pressure mount" works, however for human use (v. pet use), the instructions advise that permanent hardware (in other words, use screws to attach cups that the pressure hardware fits into) is necessary. We jerry-rigged this using 3M Command strips; hopefully these will remove as normal with no impact on the walls. For parents and other caregivers where toddler exposure is more frequent, with hardware mounted cups, the unit would likely work reasonably well. Our approach seems to work for a 2-3 day stay every few months --- a situation where we do not want the gate up all the time and where there is a relatively short time frame for the jerry rigged approach. ... show more

This is a nice gate but if you use it for large dogs that jump the plastic attachments tend to not hold up as well. Wish they made the attachments a little more sturdy. Overall it works well but can use a little improvement.
