    • No clutched pulley
Alt works great on my 06 BEW tdi. Only issue was it comes with a fixed pulley and when you put the clutch pulley on you’ll have to put a washer under the pulley or it’ll bottom out on the alt itself

13853 AAN5178 Alternator, 11-20-2025 I received a Valeo alternator with a fixed (non-clutch) pulley. All TDI's require a clutch pulley, or the tensioner will be destroyed.     • Direct replacement for 01 Jetta TDI
Fitment was great, operated like it should. Fit my 2001 VW Jetta TDI perfectly. Will update on longevity in the future.

    • Pulley was different
The alternator would fit but it doesn’t have the special pulley. It did have a cover over the nut to hide the fact it was a standard one. I was able to install the correct pulley but I had to make a proper spacer. It works fine.
