I received this drive and started loading it up. It is quite noisy as other reviews have said, but I was able to overlook that based on the price of the drive and how well it was working. I had an issue where the drive wouldn't connect to my computer. I contacted support and they quickly offered to replace it for me. While I am waiting for the replacement, this drive has started working again. I'm not sure if it was a fluke thing or what. I’ve recently ran out of storage, and I was looking for a budget hard drive That wouldn’t break the bank. I’m only planning to use it to transfer data to Store as back up. So, in my case, it will not be connected to the computer and running at all time. As a back up storage device, it seem to be working very good. Only time. Will tell if the device is worth it or not. My only complain about the product so far is that the transfer rate is acceptable. I wish it was a bit faster using a newer USB type C cable. So far so good is working as it should and it’s a lot cheaper than the brand-name harddrives. If you are on a budget, this would be a great option. ... show more

Initial tests on the drive show no bad sectors and that it's is decent condition I was expecting a hard drive even though it not advertised. The clicking on this thing is crazy. It's to loud to keep on.

The drive worked great right out of the box. I copied almost 6 TB of data from 3 older drives to this over a period of a couple days when I first got it and it never missed a beat. I highly recommend this drive for archiving data. It is older hard drive technology, so it is a bit slow. You wouldn't want to try to install most games to it, but storing video files, music files, etc work great with no performance issues at all. ... show more

I use these only for file storage. I wanted to like this drive, especially given the high storage space for the excellent price.
