Description

The Avalon Bottom Loading Hot/Cold Water Cooler is made with innovation and style. The easy-to-use paddle spouts make it so much more convenient to use. Simply press your cup against the paddle to let the flow of water to come out. The machines highly efficient compressor makes the cold water crisp and ice cold at approximately 47° F without the need of adding ice cubes to your drink. The hot faucet is hot enough to cook one's tea or coffee or any other steaming hot beverage at approximately 180° F. Due to the extremely hot water, we’ve added a child safety lock on the hot water faucet. This water cooler is bottom loading with a cabinet to hold 3 or 5 gallon bottles. The water is pumped from the bottle through the machine. The water cooler is UL listed and complies with all standards of Energy Star. The dispensing area is 10x2.5x9.5 inches with 7.5 inches of space below the spouts. This will accommodate most large cups or bottles. There is a removable drip tray at the bottom of the dispensing area to catch any drips or spills. The unit dimensions are 13"x12"x41".

Oh, where do I even begin with this marvelous piece of engineering genius? I had the pleasure of owning the Avalon A6 water dispenser for a whole year. I wouldn't recommend. The thermostat failed after 12 months of use, causing the cold water tank to freeze solid. I mean, who needs a thermostat to work properly in a water dispenser, right? It's not like I expect my cold water to be a consistent cold temperature or anything. But alas, this little piece of wizardry couldn't handle the pressure of maintaining a simple temperature setting. Perhaps I was asking too much of it. Customer service from the company were helpful, I'll give them that. They tried to troubleshoot the issue and pretended like they cared. But when it came to honoring the warranty and actually doing something to rectify the situation, they suddenly developed selective amnesia. Their grand solution? A jaw-dropping 25% discount on a new water cooler! Oh, how they must think we're all made of money and eager to throw it at another one of their high-quality products. Because, you know, I just love the thrill of taking my chances with yet another device that's destined to fail - It's like playing Russian Roulette with my hydration! If you're on the lookout for a water dispenser that will give you a taste of the good life for 365 days before kicking the thermostat bucket and providing you with a glass of solid cold nothing, then asking you to throw more money at them for a replacement, look no further! First, this is a transition for me having used the Whirlpool brand for years. The Whirlpool cooler is higher in height than this unit so I don't bend as much when getting my water. My main concern about this product is the slippery lever that you have to push with your container whether it is a cup or a glass to get your water. If you use a narrow container and you don't center it properly, your container tends to slip to the side because of the slippery and narrow size as well as the curvature of the plastic lever. I am still in my return window if I decide to send this product back, but I will just keep it not because I'm satisfied with it but because of the hassle of boxing it again and bringing it to the UPS store to return it.
