I have enjoyed this. The setup was initially hard because it came with no instructions so I had to just start pressing buttons until i figured it out. It is aluminum or some kind of metal. The solar panel does keep the charge on the battery I’ve had this for atleast 3 months now and the only issues I’ve had is junk getting in the track guide will cause it to go back up and try again later. So you should check that frequently or leave your creatures vulnerable. It’s sturdy and no unwanted guest is breaking through it. ... show more

I don't have to wake up at 5 am anymore! My girls like all chikhes are early risers and with this coop door they can come out early with out me. Super easy to install sleek and simple design but practical and sturdy. Programable AM and PM available. I like the remote control in case I have a straggler in the evening and I need to let her in after everyone has already. Excellent chicken coop door! The display on this is so bright, clear and easy to use! Door goes up and down nice and smoothly. Great size and love that is able to be operated with a remote as well! Solar is another extra plus!

it seems to work good so far. Down side, if you have more then 1 door any where else the remote will change both doors at the same time and you will have to go in and reset one of then manually. Sort of defeats the purpose.
