Worked three weeks just fine then the week we left for vacation on day two it failed to open all the way. It only opened half way. Thankfully I had someone who could come over and push it open the rest of the way so they could come and go but then we had to run the heater in the coop 24/7 while we were away before we could replace it. We did open it to see if it was jammed and it wasn’t the motor wasn’t wanting to work properly. Replaced it with a different type. To late to return for a refund to. ... show more

    • Great Door With a Few Small Quirks

This automatic chicken coop door has been great so far. It feels well‑built for the price, and the included cardboard template made installation really easy. Pros: Automatic mode works well. The light‑sensor system opens and closes reliably. I do wish the light‑level triggers were adjustable—it doesn’t close until it’s been fully dark for about 30 minutes, and my chickens usually go in much earlier—but it still works as advertised. Solar panel performs well. Even with mine mounted in mostly shaded areas, it keeps the battery fully charged even during winter. Long solar cable, which gives lots of mounting options. It’s also USB‑C, so replacements are easy to find if needed. Cons / Observations: The door opening is a bit small. My chickens can get through fine, but they do have to duck. A little more height would be ideal. Solar panel cable isn’t removable. Great length, but I only needed 1–2 feet, so now I have extra cable bundled up where the chickens like to peck. USB‑C port location. It’s placed inside the doorway. The included 90‑degree cable works fine, but if you replace it, make sure you get another angled connector or it may block part of the opening. Chickens peck the control panel. It auto‑locks, so settings are safe, but I wish it came with a protective cover for long‑term durability. Overall, it works extremely well and is a solid value. A few small design tweaks would make it perfect, but I’d still absolutely recommend it. ... show more

    • Good basic door that's easy to use.

I have only had this door installed on our coop for a few days now but so far I've been happy with it. Controls are easy enough to use and door seems to raise and lower reliably. I was hoping I could set it to open automatically in the morning and close manually at night since my chickens don't always go into the coop after dark, but it can't be in 2 modes at once (manual, timer, or daylight). This is a minor issue though. Installation was easy although there's not a lot of wiggle room between the mounting points and the edge of the door opening so measurements need to be pretty accurate. The only possible flaw I can see is that the charging cable port is in the door opening and curious chickens could end up plucking the charger cable out. That hasn't happened yet with my chickens but it could. Overall I am happy with this door. It's very secure and is a good value for what it is. It doesn't have a lot of features but it's a door and it does what it's suposed to. ... show more

I love it. The door rolls up. I unplugged the solar over a month ago because I'm not currently using the coop this door is on. It is still opening and closing everyday at the set time. Works good and actually charges with the solar panel. The cutout template makes cutting the hole nice. Just be aware that it doesn’t seem to have a safety measure when it closes on something.
