This automatic chicken door is better than we could have imagined. Our girls love it and so do we. I love the fact that it has a solar panel to help keep the batteries charged. I also loved how easy it was to install. With just a few screws that come with it we had it put up in a matter of 15 minutes and that was after having to make some modifications to make it fit were our old chicken door was originally at. I also love the fact that it works in our area because of how cold it can get where we live. We can see temperatures as low as -20°F and this door will still work because of the fact that it doesn't go up and down it opens like a barn door, it slides open to the sides. The only draw back to this is the fact that the night setting for the time setting is in the 24 hour and not 12 hour but if you know how to tell time what is called military time like my husband and I can then you can set it easily. If I had to get another chicken door I would definitely get this one again just because of how easy it was to install and how well my chickens took to having their own freedom. ... show more

My mom is so very happy about this chicken door. She had bought a coop door several years ago when the selection was sooo sparse on Amazon. It was good enough, but required batteries that had to be changed several times a year. Now with this one? Hello, solar! The functionality is just amazing. The door opens and slides side to side - such a big difference from the other one that opened by sliding up. And it comes with a remote?! We've had another brand of automatic coop door that claims to work in all seasons, but would freeze shut every time it got below 32°F. This door has opened every morning no matter the weather. So far the solar panel has kept the battery charged. It would be nice to have an app for settings, but the screen and instructions that are provided are easy enough to set up. Was great for the first two months. We are just over a month past the return window, and we cannot get it to charge. Bright sunny days the last few for us, however our door is completely dead and won’t charge. Very disappointed.
