This is a very in depth diagnostic tool with the adapters. Does so much more than just pull engine codes. I have borrowed my sonâs Autel unit several times over the last 2 years and decided to get one of my own. I have used it on Chrysler, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes and GM products. There is a lot of data available with this tool to view and in some cases adjust. If you are familiar with scan tools and how to navigate this tool is very easy to use. If you are new to using a tool of this nature there is a learning curve, but for the most part you can navigate all the basic functions easily. As with any scan tool the more that you use it the more proficient you will become with it. I mostly work on Ford products and have an IDS for those. Lately I have been getting more requests to work on other make vehicles, so this tool became the most cost effective solution to be able to work with those other makes. With modern computerized vehicles a good quality scan tool is essential to accurate diagnosis of problems and first visit repairs. Parts are way to expensive to just start replacing them hoping that it will fix the issue. With an accurate diagnosis, you replace the part at fault and return the vehicle to service. The more data that the tool can show you, the better you can pinpoint the issue. Diagnosis is not always pull a basic code and replace a part. The better diagnostic tool that you have in your hands will save you time in getting to the correct diagnosis of the issue. Customer service with this tool is very prompt so far.

I purchased this tool to make it easier for me to diagnose my vehicles when there are issues. Im so glad I purchased it since it makes my life easier, and I also don't have to pay a mechanic.

Scan tool works great. I used it to diag an electrical issue on my car. The live data function allowed me to track down a bad connector for the coolant temp sensor. Replacement connector was $20. I can only imagine the dealer would charge $600-$800 for diag and wiring repair. I also used it to program a new key fob for the same car, took less than 5 minutes.

The Autel MP808BT is a good investment for both professional shops as well as skilled DIY techs. I have been a certified Mechanic for over 15years and owned several generations of scan tools and worked with many brand specific ones. For the money this has been the best one of the non brand specific scan tools I have owned above some other name brand scanners. The subscription renewal is reasonable and the operations and special functions of this tool are adequate to do many factory brand functions. And at a fraction of the cost in both initial purchase as well as updates. It is easy to use and and has been quite accurate on all vehicles I have needed to use it on. It has a good selection of add on equipment in my opinion and also at a fraction of the cost.

Just a gadget. About 20 different sockets for different cars... It'll tell you this and that. All trivial. Doesn't program injectors or throttle. If perchance you decide to return it, you'll get only partial refund & no explanation given. They keep about $170 on $880 purchase for whatever.

Spent quite a bit of time researching which bi-directional scanner was the best for my needs. Using currently on 2015 GMC LML Duramax and it has done a great job of eliminating the need to just replace parts from a DTC code. Was able to pinpoint the EGR component that was causing the issue due to diagnostic testing the MP808BT Pro device will do. Be sure to reach out to tech to be sure the device you pick will do the things you want it to. I originally was going to get the MT808BT but was advised that it would not do the EGR systems tests I needed done.
