This scan tool is awesome! For the money it will do a lot of diagnostic stuff on your vehicle and it has a lot of features too like ABS brake bleed and that's why I bought it. I'm extremely pleased with this tool, I would recommend it to anyone.

Nice tester fixed the brakes on a 2010 escape with this the abs module was messing up with brake pedal going to the floor changed to dot4 fluid and bled abs module with this worked great!

I'm a retired Master auto tech so I've used Snap-On.......Mac and Matco tool products.....IMO in many cases not worth the second mortgage you need to be able to buy from the "tool trucks"...... This isn't the first Autel scanner I've bought for home use.......I have a OLD Autel AA101 ABS/Airbag that still works as new.... I bought this MaxiCheck Pro for the brake auto bleed function......sent "Autel Official" the VIN # from my GMC to be sure the tool would work on my truck....got a email stating YES it would work......I'm a skeptical sorta guy so I also checked on Utube and found a video of someone performing the auto bleed with this very same tool on a truck darn near identical to mine....it worked great... I pulled the trigger & bought the scanner on "black friday"...when I got it it WOULD NOT do the auto bleed.....my year truck wasn't even in the scroll list.....I called Autel support and talked to one of the "techs" who basically told me the tool I'd bought wasn't much more than a code reader and we both agreed I should send it back to Amazon....except....except......EXCEPT......Remember that Utube video I watched ????....hmmm...... I'll shorten the story a bit here....I bought a USB to SD card adapter for my desk top....went to the Autel online site ....updated the tools' SD card and voila it works pefect.... Have I mentioned how important it is to me that when I call"tech support" ....any tech support for anything I own....It's important that the "tech" know more than me about the product ????.....that didn't happen when I called Autel

I purchased this scan tool because I needed a way to bleed the ABS system on my 2000 GMC Truck. Older GM trucks have a nasty habit of having their brake lines rust away. At any rate I had great hope that this scan tool would allow me to bleed the ABS system myself. After I ordered and received the unit I tried it right out of the box. I could not get it to recognize my vehicle or communicate in any way with the trucks computer. I emailed Autel and received a prompt reply. I was instructed to update the software and try again. After updating the software (from 2017) I was able to successfully use the scan tool. It was actually much easier than the manual would lead you to believe and was almost entirely automatic, taking maybe two minutes. I am impressed. For the life of me though I don't know why the software on the SD card that comes in the scan tool wasn't updated to begin with. You'd think it would be updated until at least the date of manufacture (in this case Sep 2019). The updating process takes about an hour. The brake pedal is no longer spongy. The tool is also capable of things like Steering sensor adjustment, air bag service and code management, electronic parking brake adjustment and battery management, among others. And it is also an OBDII reader.

Doesn’t work on certain models for EPB retracting. I’m sure it does other things well but for that on my car it doesn’t. Also fails to list that.

I had previously posted the review below and gave the product a one star. While I was disappointed, mistakes and errors do happen and its how a vendor reacts to those issues that define them. The vendor bent over backwards at making this right. Dozens of communication efforts, trouble shooting steps, and ultimately a replacement and upgrade for my troubles. The new device works as expected. When a vendor will own their issues and make it right it needs to be shared. Based upon the function of the new device and the outstanding support I have bumped it up to 5 stars. Original Review: Installed software on pc. Registered the product. Checked for updates. "No updates available for this device". Great must be up to date then. Try to use it on a 2003 lincoln town car which it is supposed to cover. Car has really bad misfires and an engine light. Maxicheck says no codes. Use my old Actron and it pulls 8 codes. TPS out of spec. Cylinder 3 and 8 misfires. Guess I'll stick with Actron. If it can't even pull codes I have to wonder if the bleed function will work which was the main reason for the purchase.

bought the MaxiCheck Pro because of it's rating on Amazon....received it quickly, however, I am not able to use it because the directions or lack of....you are encouraged to make sure your vehicle is compatible with the unit and yet there is no visible link on their web site to be able to check compatibility....there is no visible product number on the tool or on their web site so as to make use of the video's re: instruction... I am still hoping to hear from them before returning it. EDIT: Since writing the original review I have been contacted by Autel on numerous occasions resulting in a resolution of the problem....they have been patient with me as I have not been able to always respond in a timely manner... Although there was at first some confusion as to the compatibility of the product they more than met my expectations....all was taken care of in a very timely manner and as a result I have changed the rating to a 5 star ....
