Used this to replace 35 year old ball joints on my 1990 F-150. It worked well, but I learned an important lesson. Make sure you grease the threads on the press before use. Otherwise the intense pressure from and impact gun can start to strip them. The material is going to be cheaper than Snap On, but I think the value is great for the price. The case is a plus.

I've never had the need to use a ball joint press b4. An issue that kept showing up was how long the screw is. I did put anti seize in the collar threads. I used it to remove and install the Lower ball joints on my 99 GMC Suburban. The anti seize never spread more then 2 inches up the screw. (Jack screw) Meaning there is 6 to 8 inches of screw that did Nothing but get in the way. Not to mention the threads were cut in the press, on the loose side. So the tool has a tendency to tilt the whole set up. causing it to push at a slight angle and I'd have to readjust the whole works. Had that screw been 4 inches long instead of 10 give or take my job would have been made easier. As I looked threw the options. I didn't see one offering that ideally came with 2 Jack screws. A short one and a long one would have been ideal. However in my mind eye I can't see a situation where I'd need to have that screen be long enough to close the press all the way. I could be wrong but I'm my non professional opinion. With the possible exception of the threads being cut tighter in the press. I see the long screw as a detriment regardless of which press I would have chosen. In my opinion. The strength of the press was impressive overall

For the money this item is great. Will remove and install ball joints and universal joints great. Quite easy to use and didn't break, very impressed.
