Better Performance than Stock Filters I purchased this to replace the original filter that came with my Top Fin 29-gallon tank. It has done a significantly better job of keeping the water crystal clear compared to the old filters that were constantly needing replacement. Easy Setup & Transition Fish-Safe Transition: Following the instructions, I kept both the old and new filters running for a week to help the fish transition smoothly. The media could not be loaded. I upgraded to this filter because I needed more power and filtration, and it works great. This filter moves some serious water and keeps the holding tank clean. It has a customizable oxygen aerator which is super helpful. My tank is about 15 gallons and it's able to keep it clean without trying very hard. The design is well thought out, you just unclick the sections, rinse out the filter sponges with tank water and reinstall. It comes with bio balls that install easily. It is about 13" tall and you can remove a section of filtration if you don't need as much (I got the 55-100 gallon filter). It is pretty quiet unless you are using a lot of oxygenation. You never need to replace filters in this which is highly convenient and why I went with this model. Overall I've used it for a few weeks now and I'm impressed. I'd recommend it if you want a simple, clean filter that doesn't require much work after the fact and looks nice.

So far this filter is working great, easy setup and have only had it running for a few days now but my tank is already looking a little clearer, very quiet operation unless you introduce alot of air but love how the air and water flow are adjustable, you can keep it quiet, I have had large expensive exterior water filtration units for years that work but are hard to remove and clean and can be difficult to prime when starting up and always that worry about it springing a leak somewhere outside of the tank, the last two of the larger motors I’ve had only lasted less than six months each, this unit seems amazing for the price, also really like how it comes apart in sections to clean or adjust size, really happy with it so far, definitely recommend trying this out

At first I was intimidated by the instructions, but set up was easy and it is SO customizable. It works wonderfully, especially love the adjustable bubbles and water flow. It oxygenates the water and cleans. As a first time aquarium owner I had NO idea what I was getting myself into but my 5 yo wanted a fish so we did it. And I have hope that I won’t fail immediately at this. Thanks Atlantis Aqua!

UPDATE: Customer service reached out to me to inquire about what specifically was wrong with my unit. I was having issues with the propeller. A replacement filter was provided and so far working great. I appreciate the quick response as my turtle is extra messy this time of year. I will update if anything changes, though I feel fairly confident it will keep working this time. ORIGINAL: I was originally impressed with the filter. Was pretty quiet and easy to put together. I cleaned it and saw that it had caught a lot. However, it has stopped working since its first cleaning. This isn't my first filter. I try to be careful when cleaning. Not sure why it stopped working. But now my tank is dirty again so quickly and I'm filterless.

I DO NOT recommended this product. Although I appreciated the aeration feature, I think that this is an overall hack job of a filter. It simply DOES NOT clean the water properly. I can easily echo what other ppl with negative feedback have experienced. I liked the idea of reusable media and sponges (vs. creating more landfill) but it appears as the the product works okay for about a month or so, it then all of a sudden drops off in performance and the motor parts begin to fail if work at all anymore! The product doesn't do well filtering or even retaining waste in the sponges (in retrospect, i feel that a design flaw lies in the almost entirely sealed chambers of plastic, especially on the bottom, which is capped where you would expect there to be small open spaces for waste to be sucked in from the bottomofyouraquariu). Although the product comes with a warranty card that I scanned onto my phone and put my email and info into I never received an email or a link to reference regarding warranty information or how to proceed on refunds or replacement or whatever! I literally had to bite the bullet and go buy another product on a whim and replace this P.OS. because my nitrates were suddenly spiking and my fish were starting to experience illness because of apparent product failure. I went ahead and got a Fluval AC30, which I know is a completely different set-up but its incredibly quiet and is also media-based vs. cartridge-based, as I am concerned about environmental as well as financial impacts over time. Hope this is helpful.

It was a good product, easy to assemble and very economical. You don’t have to keep buying the filters you can clean it wash it through running water and place it back again and it’s very quiet. That’s the one good thing about it definitely recommend.
