Best way to protect yourself

Asurion outsources a third party company that handles all their claims. This company has Monday through Thursday business hours only. You must be with your product to place the call to finalize processing your claim. In my situation my son’s power wheels jeep no longer runs, I can’t just throw it in the car and bring it to work with me. I also should not have to take off work to make a phone call to be physically with the jeep (That DOES NOT RUN!!) this has been the most ridiculous process and worst customer service I’ve received in a very long time. The jeep doesn’t run, I can prove this by video, they want pictures of everything else texted to them why not accept a video texted along with a phone call? Yes that’s right a PHONE call, not sure how being with the product at time of call is even validated. Don’t waste your money this is surely not worth a dime, they are a joke, both companies!

This was good value for a gift and came in handy when the toy broke. I was impressed by how efficient the process was and the website was easy to navigate. It was nice to be able to replace the item and so I bought insurance for the new toy.

Just a tip for buyers -- if you wait until after you receive your purchase to buy a protection plan, you won't have paid for several days coverage for an item you do not yet have. I did that "see and click" buy on the protection plan without pausing to think "Hey, my item hasn't even shipped yet. What do I need protection for right now?" You have 30 days to buy the protection plan, which you hope to never have to use, so might as well extend it to the outer limits. I rated 3 stars at this point not because of the plan, but because I don't have anything yet upon which to base a rating on a plan purchase.
