  • Perfect for us with modifications.
We bought this bike to complete our gym. We are two mid aged coots trying not to get fat. We are not athletes in training so this review is not for you if you are. Not an amateur bike rider though, still have my cannondale road bike from 30 years ago and a cannondale mt bike I still ride outdoors. Arrived by box truck on time. I could watch the progress on a map, nice. Box was undamaged. Hardest part was getting it out of the box. Assembly was quick, like 30 minutes. Used the instructions because wife was there but not needed. The crews for the decorative plastic thing are taped to the underside...looked for them far too long. Extremely sturdy, thick metal everywhere, including the handles. No plastic crap. The plastic is the sweat guard and drive train cover, but it's thick. Impressed. We ride different. I put youtube videos of bike rides and ride along. It is smooth and is very much like riding outdoors. Yes there is a slight whirring sound but I put Sirius/xm on the stereo and don't hear it. There are 33 resistance levels but really infinite as it can be set between clicks if needed. I just count the clicks from zero. It goes from nothing to I can barely pedal. I cannot imagine needing more resistance. Love the clips, they work well. She uses the cages. She puts on workout videos so she wanted a computer so I made that modification as well as adding a phone/ipad/wii remote holder. The handle bars can and will hold your iPad. The water bottle holders we use for dumbbells. See pictures. Outside I average about 13 mph. If I set the computer to 233 cm long I get exactly that at my cadence...not scientific but good enough. Changed to Km/hr because that is what the videos use and I can follow along. My cadence calc is scientific. The slope is cadence = 5.5(km/hr) + 1. I could easily have lived without the computer but she is happy so... Very happy. • Well built, Easy assembly, definitely commercial quality
March 30, 2020 -- Just got the Minotaur 7150 model fitness bike last week and assembled it on Sunday myself. I'm female, 5'4", 54 yo and a bit overweight but in relative good health since I've been a steady street cyclist for about 10 years -- except this last year when I started working from home and put on some unwelcome flab! Now that we're in the middle of this corona-virus shelter-in-place order, getting some exercise and isolating at home has been even tougher to manage. The reason I went with a stationary bike is to be able to get some low to no impact cardio within any 30 min window during the day and be able to get back online at the drop of a hat if needed. Also wanted to save time on the cycling routine and give up the hazards... No need to suit up with a helmet, sun screen, water etc. I certainly don't and won't miss the insect swarms, sun burn, rain or mud, automobile exhaust or all those road hazards I had tolerated over the years... :) In any case, I must say, delivery was timely and assembly was easy with no issues. I did swap out the seat for a more padded one and reversed the handle bar stem since I prefer to cycle more upright. I will update y'all on how the work and workout lifestyle balance goes and how the fitness bike is holding up. Cheers! ---April 1, 2020--- ***** Still rate this at 5 stars ***** Confirmed... this fitness bike is built like a tank! Just a couple of days and I'm thoroughly impressed about the smooth performance, stable geometry and quiet mechanisms. I'm starting to feel that unwelcome flab start to melt off already. :) Whoohoo! ... show more

  • Handlebars are a major design flaw - not ergonomically correct unless you're 5'2" or shorter
Handlebar design is terrible! Upper limit of how high you can raise the handlebars is too low for me (I have torn cartilage in my wrist and can't bend it). They don't come back close enough to the seat to work for me either. You should be comfortable and able to rest your hands on the bars, and not forced to put your full weight on your wrists, arms and shoulders. That's not possible for my 5'5" frame since these force you to lean forward and down. I don't want to move the seat forward to compensate because it could injure my knees. We tried changing them to face backward but that didn't work either. The tension is good and the bike is built sturdy (very heavy though) but I got tired of constantly having pieces of styrofoam coming out from the packing in Taiwan. I wish they'd find a better packing material. Bike doesn't warrant 5 stars even without the handlebar issue because there's no display to see mph, distance, etc. This bike was too expensive to have to be put in an improper position due to the handlebars so I sent mine back. I wish I'd been able to try this bike out before purchasing online, but no gym I've belonged to has ever carried this brand. Now I'm going to have to spend a lot more money to purchase a better bike. Very disappointed in this brand! ... show more
