Description

The Astro Tool 52SLC 500x2 Lumen Folding Double-Sided LED Slim Light W/ Wireless Charging Pad is the newest Astro lighting innovation designed with two 500 lumen main lights in the front and back for up to 1000 lumens. This light can be used like a traditional inspection light or as a flood light to illuminate areas like deep in engine bays. Light output can be easily adjusted for visibility by lowering or raising the lumen level with its dimming feature, which works by pressing and holding the power button. It’s a great addition in the shop, going to be picking up more when I have some extra cash. the quick wireless magnetic charging station makes it quick and easy. The station is magnetic to stick on a mobile cart with a power supply or screw holes to make a motor permanent spot. I used double sided tape and it holds the station with lights charging no problem, extremely bright with adjustable levels of intensity, the lights magnet holds great both on the base and backside of light. Where has this been my whole life? I will never go back to those shop lights that have the little swivel magnetic ball with USB charging again! The magnet on this is very strong and sticks to about any surface at any angle with no issues. the head of the light swivels both directions giving lots of options to get the light right where I need it. While the bottom magnet is fairly strong on flat surfaces, it can sometimes be a small challenge to place it just right since it's a wider base than one thinks. This light has 3 modes, 1st: both side LED COBS light up, 2nd: 1 side lit, 3rd: top led for a little flashlight. These modes are super easy to change with just the push of a button. To change the brightness, just hold down the button and it will ramp down, and then back up. Release the button to stop at a certain brightness. It will also remember this choice when powered off and back on. Right above the buttons is the battery indicator (4 leds). After a few hours of use and needing a recharge, I simply throw it up to the magnetic base, let the wireless charger do its thing and grab the other light from the charger. The magnetic charging base was a game changer for me. It made it so convenient to store always charged and cleared up some space from my tool box. Overall I would highly recommend these to any diyer or professional mechanic out there. Pros: - Magnetic charging base - 3 lighting modes that cover most any situation for light need - Accurate battery indicator (even shows while charging) - Top led actually became a lot more useful than I initially thought - Smooth brightness ramping - LEDs swivel both ways - Can warm your hands a little on those super cold days Cons: - Base is a little wide and can sometimes be challenging to find a good spot to put ... show more

I try not to give anything 5 stars across because that means the item is absolutely perfect in every regard. And thats damn near impossible for anything, especially electronics or tools. For a led work light it's excellent overall. Very bright and I love the magnetic wireless charging. Some things I don't like are battery life. It sucks. Doesn't last long and I don't know what other reviewers are talking about. I have never got more than 15-20 minutes out of a full charge and that's with one side lit, not both. I have had other brands that last longer. The magnetic charger base can charge two at a time so I suggest if you plan on using it a lot then get two. I also don't like the on and off button. There are two buttons. You have to press them and hold them if you want to adjust the brightness. One button will illuminate both sides and the other button will turn on the flashlight at the tip and if you push it again it cycles to the ling led strip. It would have been so much easier and convenient to use a dial like a old car radio. Turn it to get it on and the further you turn it the brighter it gets. The other brand I had was just like that and after using thay type I can say its way better than this setup. One last complaint is the bottom is magnetic. That's great if ur putting it on something magnetic. But I'd you want to put the light on aluminum or wood etc, then the only way it stays up without falling is if your have the led strip part pointing straight up. If you push it to angle the light, it falls over. Thr base is not sturdy enough to hold it up on a non magnetized surface. I will say, those nitpicking aside, it is very bright, durable and the wireless magnetic charging is awesome ... show more

I love this flashlight. Works well, then just put it on the charger when you are done and it will be ready to go when you need it. No wire to plug in. Lasts 3 to 4 hours on a single charge and super bright light. And it takes a beating. I am constantly dropping it on the floor and it keeps working. Just don't drop it in a pan of oil, it will make a mess, but it kept working after cleaning it up. ... show more

    • Durability only 4 stars but still very good.
I now have 3 of these and use all of them every work day. My first one is several years old and I used it for a couple of months before buying another with the wireless magnetic charger so I have had 2 of them for a few years now. The electrical on both of them are unscathed including the battery life as far as I can tell. I use them mostly on medium to low and have only used the two sides a couple of times. On one of them the bottom magnet came out but I glued it back in with 5200 calk adhesive and it's been fine since. The light bar angle adjustment detentes have become weak and wont stay in place on one of them and the other is getting weak. I recently bought another along with a magnetic wireless charger and was going to get the one sided light since I haven't found the double useful for me but I don't think they make the single sided light anymore. Nothing lasts for ever but these have outlasted any of my other battery work lights to date. If you are buying for home use they should way outlast the way I use and abuse them. I don't expect this kind of thing to last me much over 2 years but I think I will get double that all though they won't be in very good shape by then. It's not that I set low expectations but I know how I abuse stuff like this. ... show more
