This flashlight lasts typically 9 to 11 hours. It produces a focused light and is fairly bright. The main benefit of it is that it can be used as an emergency light with rechargeable batteries. By the way, you do not have to use the very expensive original Dewalt 18 V Max battery, $20 clones work just as fine. If you have several of such batteries at home for your tools, you will have a rechargeable light lasting a long time for the cases of a power outage. Or you can take it camping and save on alkaline batteries. I bought it specifically for this purpose, as a backup source of light if electricity goes out, as it did twice in our area during an ice storm with wind. If the light is on sale for half price, it is a good value. It can also be handy to illuminate work area if you have to do some work in the crawl space or in area without light. It is not an amazingly bright light, it produces about the same amount of light as an average bright flashlight, it is not meant to illuminate the whole room, but it is a decent amount of light for most purposes. ... show more

I haven't asked much of it yet, but for the things I have, it's exceeded expectations. This thing put out plenty of light and it will illuminate a nice path. It's great, does what you want, and plenty bright. Very low power drain and will last hours using any Dewalt 20V MAX™ battery. Has a nice metal loop on the back to hang it if you need.(I added a carabiner clip and a Dewalt belt clip I had). Oversl great product. Would buy again. 👍🏻
