The 18V LXT Lithium-Ion cordless/corded work light (DML811) offers the convenience of cordless or corded operation, and provides bright and even illumination for work spaces. At full brightness It provides 3, 000 lumens of light, and 750 lumens on low mode. Adjusting knobs enable the user to direct the light to the desired angle. The work light can be mounted on an optional tripod stand (SOLD Separately). dust and water-resistant construction (IP65 rated) for improved operation in harsh job site conditions. it’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT system, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. My initial impression is high quality but bulky. I'm a little concerned the lense could be damaged easily as there is no guarding. However, I found the diffuser gives it some added protection and it helps distribute the light. The versatility of having a battery or power cord option is nice. I'd love to see this light have the ability to charge the battery and a USB ports to charge a cell phone on the job. As I was looking for a good place to store the light, I found installing a hook to the wall it makes an amazing light for the work bench. As far as size, it's much larger than other work lights. You won't have to worry about this thing getting knocked over. I wouldn't recommend putting this on a tripod especially with a battery. It would be extremely top heavy. It may be hard to see how bright the light is in the photo but it is bright especially if you take it into a large area. It had no problem illuminating a good portion of my backyard. I'd definitely recommend buying this light. Hope this helps! ... show more

I’ve been using a flashlight, actually many flashlights over the decades, for all manner of home repairs. I finally got fed up with crappy lighting when I had to pull up water damaged subfloor and remodel the rest of the bathroom. This light was perfect. No more holding a light in my teeth, no more dropping the light in the sewage leak zone, no more inadequate light. It’s stable, highly portable. I bought 4 or these lights to use around the job sites. They are robust and look like they will last. Moving a tripod light around the room is a pain in the ass and always seems to be right in the way. So these smaller profile lights are perfect. Cutting the cord and using battery’s is the way to go. I chose this version over the bigger version based on how long the batteries last. Little give take for light power over battery duration. These will light up the room for sure but will need more then one to brighten things up enough for finish work. 4 stars b/c no construction light is perfect. Really wish makita designed one of these with lights on the sides or a radius curved front lens to direct light in more then just one area. They do that and it would be perfect. ... show more

The fact that this light will work plugged in or on one of my many many Makita batteries is great. Had to work under a house doing per & pvc plumbing and not having to have to drag a cord was great. Light has different brightness settings and you can adjust the angle easily. Very stable.

I have several other Makita battery powered tools and a couple of corded ones, so when I looked for a battery work light there was no choice, it had to be a Makita for battery compatibility. The reviews on the cheapest model were not real good, and the top model was terribly expensive so I settled on this one, which is very bright (and has three levels of brightness) and a long battery life, four hours or more on high. It also has a cord so it can be plugged into a wall outlet, but I have not used that feature. I have used this both in my workshop and in my house when doing projects and have been impressed with the brightness and the white light color (thankfully not bluish, i hate that). ... show more
