  • Great press
This ball joint press is much bigger than the ones that come in the kits. It’s much larger in all dimensions and has worked great.

  • Big Heavy Durable
Thing is heavy as f*** but well worth the added weight. I’ve bent a few ball joint presses that were probably just cheap and poorly manufactured. This big boy does not disappoint

  • Well Worth It
Bought this as a companion C-Frame to the Astro Master Set in order to more easily do ball joints on 3/4 & 1-ton trucks. Heavy is an understatement and it easily does trucks of these sizes with the adapters from the other kit. Worth it in every way as I was able to complete a 1-ton truck in half the time it took with a smaller press as I didn't have to change out adapters mid-press. And hey, if they start putting ball joints on Caterpillar dozers, now I'll be ready. ... show more

  • Goliath is right
Very good quality, done ball joints on several superduty trucks and other 3/4 and 1 ton stuff as well. Hasn't stretched, deformed or bent at all, really heavy and thick

  • The Davidonator uses the Goliath XL to slay ball joints
I rate this c-clamp a 4 out of 5 for functionality, fit, and easy of use. The finish quality on this tool is the absolute worse I’ve had on any tool like this and well under my threshold of acceptability. To fix that and get a 5 stars out of 5 the manufacturer should really use a better paint process and thicker paint that won’t simply fall apart after 1 use. With that said you’ll pry this from the Davidnators cold 🥶 dead💀 hands. Want to know more read on… I’ve used Mac, along with rental tools from part stores and even have a nice ball joints set I got from Amazon but they all come with the smaller C-clamp… enter the Goliath XL Ug Ug Ug… this bad boy is heavy…. Just be sure not to drop it on your toe. The sheer weight of the c-clamp is crazy but thats what you need to remove some of the hardest most stubborn ball joints. With that said the functionality is extended by providing a bigger opening and a bigger bolt… because in this case size does matter. It made removing and putting on the ball joints much easier than using the normal c-clamp. Even if you plan on renting a kit you may be better off getting this clamp because of how much easier your life will be depending on the job. In my case I was removing the ball joints from a 2016 LTZ Chevy Suburban 1500… with 170,000 miles on it. The only issue I have with this clamp is not with the durability of the metal or structure itself but the lack of durability of the paint on the product. The painted finish just simply seemed to flake off in one simple use making it the worse finish I’ve experienced on any tool I’ve purchased so far. Really for something named the Goliath XL I expected a much better finish than for the paint simply to fall off in one use. But maybe that’s why they took the name Goliath because Goliath died after being struck one time much like the paint chipped after one use. With that said the tip is to use grease on any type of press like the Goliath XL screw because the extra lube helps to make it move easier when you are pressing ball joints in and out. It also helps to extend the life of the screw so it doesn’t mess up the threads on those harder jobs! ... show more

  • Worked great but it's heavy
Worked awesome for ball joints, though it's weight makes placing a ball joint kit in place challenging. Definitely get a second set of hands if you're in awkward spot, and maybe buy a good bench vise that'll hold both your part and this clamp

  • Astro continues to impress
Needed a larger ball joint press for a few vehicles that the standard size just wasn't cutting. This thing is just as hefty as my older smaller units and then some. It's made of metal, and you use it for ball joints, u joints, pinching fingers, and anything else you need to exert a few tons of pressure on, that you can fit into your shop press to do the job. Yes it will probably damage the shipping box and hurt the driver carrying it to you since it weighs so much, but it's a heavy duty tool, you know that. Yes Snap on, Mac, and others make great tools, but I'm not in that range yet, so this does the job at a much more attractive price. I have not needed customer service so can't comment on that, but would not hesitate to buy this brand, from this seller again. ... show more

  • HEAVY
When they say heavy duty, they mean it. This unit weighs almost 20 lbs and is built like a tank. Beats the crap out of any other press I've seen off of Amazon
