    • Easy setup, no loss of signal strength.
I like this router. It produces a strong signal with no noticeable decline in network connectivity. I installed it with the help of my internet tech who was installing new connection into my house. We have a line directly off the pole so the incoming network is right at what we are paying for. When we test the router it shows very similar numbers, indicating that there is no loss of internet speed through the router. It is a mesh device. I have the primary station by my TV, hard-lined into the modem. The TV is right next to it and has a strong signal. Upstairs I have a second device that wirelessly hooks to the primary station and that one powers the signal upstairs. My entire house has good signal as does most of my yard. In fact, my phone doesn't register a loss of connection until I'm halfway down the block. All we use is 1 TV, 1 X-Box, 1 desktop computer, and 2 cell phones, plus whatever guests use. It works well and I will definitely recommend this device. Setup was easy. If you understand basics in how to hook up a modem and router this will be easy. Tried several times to install and connect. Kept getting error codes. Called customer support and they stated that since the product was manufactured over a year ago, they would not offer support without my sending proof of purchase. If they sell on AMazon, they should have knowledge of the sale and when it was shipped. I waited until my son who is tech savvy (I am not) to install it. It was purchased in February but my son who lives in another state could not get to it until this past weekend. H kept getting just so far in the installation process before getting the error code. Tried all options on their troubleshoot page with no success. SO I called the helpline this morning and was told they couldn't help. Not acceptable. ... show more

It sure why these get bad reviews. Instalation took 10 mins. Just follow the prompts. The app provides information that others charge a subscription for. I get 700. Mbps on my satellite on a 1 gb connection. I’m really satisfied.

    • Good price but hard to work with
Difficult setup. It's compatible with xfinity but trying to figure out all the connections in the surfboard app and xfinity app was hard. I messed up setting up one of the towers that I wanted in a different part of the house and I have still not been able to make it work.     • Doesn't work with Xfinity modem/gateway xb8
Despite talking to Rufus at length, the Arris Surfboard Max Model WC4S doesn't play well with an Xfinity xb8 modem/wifi gateway. Tried to follow their instructions and it took down the tv, internet, and phone system. Had spend hours on the phone to get Xfinity to disable "bridge mode" remotely. The item was sold as "new" but clearly had been repackage if not necessarily refurbished. Cannot evaluate power, functionality, signal strength or connectivity because it never worked. Unable to pair with Internet provider and our provider kept sending us messages that the security of the Arris was weak.
