This rug is beautiful and high quality, BUT it sheds. A TON. I've had this carpet for a year now and it STILL is shedding little wool fibers everywhere. I've had to use a pet hair broom on it every so often to collect the fuzz. I'm also subjected to a frequent cycle of dusting and using my hand vac in all the surrounding corners. I had previously purchased the 2x3 version of this rug, and that stopped shedding noticeably much sooner (maybe 6-9 months? Unsure, it was 3 years ago) After 3 years, the other rug has become less squishy and slightly sun-faded, but has otherwise held up beautifully. My rugs have been moved, rolled and unrolled, and have handled it just fine, and lay flat. I'm still giving it four stars because from what I can tell, shedding is just the reality of wool rugs. These rugs really have upgraded my space in terms of appearance, sound absorption, and comfort. I still would choose this over polyester printed rugs any day since they simply are higher quality, look higher quality, and won't create static during dry winters. ... show more

    • Beauty With A Catch

Was looking for a primarily muted color abstract rug (which was way harder than I expected to find) so I was so excited when I found this rug! Design and color is as shown in the picture and looks great in person. The size options were a huge bonus so I could easily pick what I needed for our living room, and the rug thickness was perfect (not too thick or shaggy but not paper thin either like the washable options) The material however is not ideal. The feeling is very scratchy on the skin and this sheds like crazy!! The first few weeks were rough as it left huge “fiber piles” everywhere. Even after vacuuming it for what feels like 50x it did get MUCH better, but I still get fibers on me if I sit on it. Long story short, amazing unique design but just know there will be a lot of fiber cleanup once it arrives for a few weeks/months. ... show more

Excellent quality, beautiful colors, modern design--this fits my basement/TV room perfectly. It does shed quite a bit (so I wear slippers instead of outdoor shoes), but based on my extensive experience with Safavieh rugs (this is my 6th or 7th of their rugs I have purchased), the shedding will stop in a couple of months and the shedding does not affect the quality or the look of the rug--it will be as beautiful on day 365 as on day 1. Sheds terribly. I thought it would eventually stop but after 6mo it’s actually gotten worse. Have to constantly vacuum it. Too bad because the colors are great and feels soft but I can’t take it anymore. Wasted my money because can’t return but I was really trying to give it a chance.
