I've been using this hair dye for a few months now, purple AF seems to hold in my hair really well. I have my hair bleached at the salon then I apply this at home, and it lasts through about 6 washes before I re-dye it to give back the vibrancy, and I wash my hair twice a week in cool water so that's about 3 weeks wear for me. When dying my hair, I first wash my hair really well with shampoo, no conditioner and blow dry very well. I then apply it, cover with a shower cap and give my head a quick blowdry all over/ under the cap to warm it up and leave for 30 minutes then rinse with cool water. It does stain counter tops and sinks so make sure you lay something down where you'll be using the dye. If you get any on countertops or sinks, bleach will remove it pretty easily, and soap/ water will remove from skin. The dye smells fruity and leaves my hair feeling so soft and smooth, I always look forward to when it's time to re dye because my hair feels so amazing afterwards. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. So this hair color is like a ginger redhead, a redhead and a bottle so if you’re not fan of the orange reddish color, then you’re not going to be a fan of this. I do recommend having your hair blonde and with some highlights in your hair before you putting this in your hair so it does look natural. So it doesn’t just look like You have orange paste in your hair. I am not a fan of just throwing color in my hair my hair needs to have dimension in it when your hair has dimension. It looks so much better even if you have a crappy hair color or a hair color you don’t like This hair color washes out super fast and I would definitely recommend wearing a nightcap when you sleep will come out on your sheets. This is my favorite hair brand of semi permanent hair color so don’t think that I’m talking trash about the hair color because I’m not I actually do love it. It’s one of my favorite brands. I feel safe when I use it, I know that my hair color is gonna come out very vibrant. I just know that it’s going to also come out very quick . So you can mix and match these hair colors I would definitely recommend going on their website and chatting it up with the people on their website in the chat box. If you’re not sure what kind of color you want or want to be a darker ginger color? I would definitely recommend going on their website and asking them what you need to order. Other than that, I love the color. Yes, my hair was washed out a lot in the video that I showed you, but I wanted to make a video of it before it all came out , and my hair was super super super super blonde with a tint of green so it did come out very pretty and vibrant. I used the Purple AF and was afraid the color would not show up or "stick" to the gray in my medium brown/gray hair mix... I didn't have to worry at all! My hair was completely natural, unprocessed with no pre-lightening done. I'm about 4 weeks in now and it's actually grown out more than its faded. The color is only slightly less vibrant but still going strong! I left it in for 3-ish hours to process and have been washing it about twice a week with a color protect shampoo and conditioner. I know everyone's hair is different and they don't guarantee that it will cover gray but for me it wasn't an issue at all. The gray strands turned almost a metallic purple and I love it! A couple words of warning: it stains everything it touches! Make sure to cover everything while applying and wear gloves. Rubbing alcohol takes it right off of skin and most surfaces. Do the first rinse over the sink so you don't stain your shower... or yourself! Edited to add the second picture of how well and evenly it faded after almost 6 weeks. You can see my roots with the brown and lots of silver/gray coming through but there were still some definite purple highlights. Loved it so much that I just re-colored it again today. ... show more

I've wanted to go red for a long time but will never bleach or treat my hair so this seemed like a fun way to experiment. I got the Ginger Flare color and tried a test strip of hair for an hour then rinsed it out. I didn't notice any difference in color or texture so went all in and put the entire bottle in my hair and left it in for 3-4 hours. I rinsed it out with cold water and went to bed. I did not have any staining in my tub but USE AN OLD PILLOWCASE OR TOWEL. I used an old one and it was very orange in the morning and a little soaked through onto my pillow cover. Take the warnings seriously and wear dark or old clothes the first day or two. The dye seems to come out fine in the wash but don't risk it. It was super red in the morning but after a hot shower the color toned down a lot. I really like it. My hair is normally medium to dark brown and the color change was noticeable but somewhat subtle. I would say it's comparable to the example pictures they gave for dark brown hair, just a little less saturated. When my hair is wet or sweaty there can be a very small amount of color bleed but it's very light. I'm not wearing nice white shirts but everything else seems fine. Now for the reason I'm only giving it 4 stars: It's only been in a few days and the color seems to be fading already (despite barely washing out in the shower anymore). To me this isn't an issue because I wanted to try something short term but I think others may want it to last longer. That being said, if you take steps to maintain it like leaving it in even longer at the start, only washing your hair with cold water, or if your hair is treated/lighter, it will probably last much longer. I really like trying this product and would recommend it to anyone wanting a short term change, but for some it might not last long. ... show more
