Description

How long does it take to heat a pool? We recommend continuous operation for at least 16–24 hours, especially for first use. For ideal performance, use a properly sized pump and a pool cover during heating to maximize heat retention. How do I maximum heating efficiency? Use a pump with flow rate ≥5547 GPH. Over‑high flow reduces heat exchange; over‑low flow reduces heating output. A pool cover effectively reduces heat loss for faster heating and steady temperature. What benefits does the inverter technology provide? It automatically switches to low‑power operation once reaching target temperature, avoiding frequent on/off and temperature fluctuations. It delivers stable, quiet, efficient performance with COP up to 12 for maximum energy saving. How to avoid tripping? What is the rated current of the product (in amps)? Has a rated current of 30A and a maximum current of 32A. It needs 220V hardwired. Do not connect two ground wires – only connect the ground wire from the plug. Recommend use ≥40A breaker Can it used in saltwater? Is it waterproof? Yes,corrosion-resistant titanium heat exchanger, compatible with saltwater pools. IPX4 weatherproof & waterproof for outdoor installation. Especially the Control Panel.

  • Excellent Pool Heat Pump - AquaStrong HEX100
Size: 26000 Gallons
I purchased the HEX100 AquaStrong heat pump for my 16’ x 32’ inground pool. I live in Middle Tennessee and plan to open the pool a couple months earlier (Mid April to mid-May) and keep it open until the end of October (before leaves begin to fall). My pool is about 20,000 gallons. The HEX100 unit is rated for up to 26,000 gallons. I received the unit a few days after ordering. The install was fairly straight forward. I installed a 40 AMP breaker at my main panel and a 50 AMP GFCI between the unit and the main panel. All wiring is 8-gauge copper. I placed the unit on 4 – 4” blocks that sit on a concrete pad so the unit is 4” above the ground level which allows for good drainage. The rear of the unit is only 16” from a wood picket fence. I believe there was adequate ventilation but I installed two grills on the fence to make sure there was good ventilation. I used Schedule 40 PVC pipe to connect to the pool filter outlet pipe utilizing the PVC fittings provided with the unit and created a bypass if I need to bypass the heat pump. The unit started up with no issues. The pool temperature was 66 degrees F when I started the unit the evening of April 20. The outside temperature was 60 degrees and the low temperature got down to 46 degrees that night. At startup the inlet temp was 66 degrees and the outlet temp was 68 degrees at the standard mode setting. Tuesday evening April 21 the outside temperature was 77 degrees, inlet temp was 75 degrees and the outlet temp was 80 degrees. Wednesday evening the outside temp was 78 degrees, inlet temp was 82 degrees and outlet temp was 86 degrees. Thursday April 23, I was expecting my grandkids to come swim so I changed the Mode setting to boost mode around noon. The outside temp was 78 degrees, the inlet temp was 85 degrees and the outlet temp was 91 degrees. I had a target temp for the pool set at 90 degrees. By Thursday afternoon it had reached the 90-degree target temp. So overall it took from Monday evening to Thursday afternoon to increase the pool temp 34 degrees (66 to 90) which is not bad. It probably would have been faster if I had started in boost mode. My electric utility company provides me with usage info so I calculated the initial cost to bring the pool temp up 34 degrees within 3 days and it was approximately $70. Going forward the cost to keep it at this temp should not be as much. I am able to control the unit from my iPhone with the app provided. It is very easy to setup and navigate, allows for schedules to control the unit if you want. I am very satisfied with this unit. I know it will accomplish my goal to bring the initial temp to 90 degrees at the beginning of the season (3rd week in April) and keep it there. For middle Tennessee, once the summer months are here (June – August) I don’t expect the unit to run very much as the outside temp along with the full sun will keep the water temp at 90 degrees. The AquaStrong customer service response has been excellent via email. They get back to me within 24 hours with any questions I have. I would buy this unit again and can recommend it to potential customers looking for a way to heat their pool. ... show more

This product has performed as advertised. Installation was straightforward, and the setup was easy. Professional wiring is a plus. I have an in ground twenty foot by forty foot pool. • Powerhouse in this price range. A+
Size: 26000 Gallons
We got the HEX100 for our 15,000 gallon in ground pool. It’s currently 50f-60f during the day and drops down to 40f at night and this thing gets the pool up to 86f during the day and in the morning it’s still at 82f. I’m thoroughly impressed. Have had it for about 2 weeks and everything is working great. WiFi, app, heat. Plus I was able to install it in under an hour with no pool experience. ... show more

  • High quality water heater/cooler
Size: 26000 Gallons
This heater is an outstanding piece of equipment. Granted it’s pricey so watch for price fluctuations as we did. It is quiet and efficient and warms the pool water quickly. We have a 27ft round, 17,000 gallons of water. Haven’t used the cooling feature yet since we just started using it and it hasn’t been super hot out. So happy we made this investment. We can keep the pool open until at least October here on the east coast. Glad we took the “plunge “ ! ... show more

  • Great value for 100k btu inverter heat pump
Size: 26000 Gallons
Working great so far. I ordered the 26,000 gallon for my 22,000 gallon pool with no cover. The heat pump was able to increase the pool from 74f to 84f in about 48 hours with lows around 65f at night. First heat up cost about $25 (.15/kw) but to maintain temp the cost hasn’t been noticeable. I did change my variable speed pump to run 24/7 to heat quicker. Hardest part of the set up was the weight you need two people if you need to lift it; but if you feel comfortable working with pvc plumbing and 220 electrical diy installation is fairly easy. ... show more

  • Constant error codes
Size: 26000 Gallons
I really wanted to like this unit, but my experience has been extremely frustrating. From the beginning, I’ve had ongoing issues with performance and reliability. The unit has thrown multiple error codes and has not operated consistently despite following all installation and operating guidelines. The bigger issue, however, has been customer support. Every time I’ve reached out, I’m pushed into another round of troubleshooting steps that I have already completed multiple times. It feels like the process is being dragged out rather than resolved. I’ve made it clear that I’m seeking a refund or replacement, but instead of addressing that directly, I continue to be routed through repetitive troubleshooting requests. At this point, it’s hard not to feel like this is a delay tactic that risks pushing customers beyond the warranty window. I’ve been patient and cooperative, but there needs to be a point where the company stands behind its product instead of continuing to deflect with troubleshooting scripts. If you’re considering this unit, just be aware: if something goes wrong, you may spend more time going back and forth with support than actually enjoying your pool. **Update** After working extensively with customer support, they sent me a brand new unit at no charge and I got it to work after a bit of troubleshooting. ... show more

  • Warm water in May!
Size: 26000 Gallons
We installed the heat pump on our 27’ ft above ground pool on the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend in hopes of the grandkids to swim for the weekend. They were able to swim on Sunday with the pool temperature getting up to 77 degrees by Sunday. This Monday morning sitting here watching the stream off the pool, it’s 60 degrees outside here in Kansas City and the pool water is 83 degrees! We installed the pump pretty easily with PVC pipe. We did add a by pass valve as someone else mentioned. We haven’t been successful in connecting the WiFi, but need to spend more time on it. I was skeptical purchasing this pump but so far it’s been great. Now for the electric bill to come … ... show more
