This Aquastrong heat pump (75K BTU) was purchased early August 2025 and within a matter of weeks, my pool guy installed the system. I had gone from an Ecosmart tankless pool heater 18k 240 v to the Aquastrong heat pump. From the time the unit was installed and programmed it functioned so well. The unit was easy to program, and it was also easy to setup the application on my phone. I have run my Aquastrong heat pump for several weeks now and it didn’t coast as much to run the ecosmart 18k. The savings are phenomenal!! Within minutes the heat pump temperature had increased a degree or so. Granted I ran the heat pump though the night and with the morning light it was close to the target temperature. I have a 15K gallon pool. The only problem I had with this the heat pump was the application itself. somehow it had gotten out of wack. I just deleted the application and reinstalled and it seemed to sync perfectly with the unit. When I contacted customer service, they were responsive, very helpful and clear with their directions. The unit is beautiful, when it is on the fan produces a strong cool air. Wish I could channel the cool air into my house. :)). You will not be disappointed when you purchase this Aquastrong heat pump the value for you money is quite evident in your electric bill!

I am very happy with this product. Easy to install, and the product performs as advertised. It works just fine for a 25k gallons in-ground pool. Good quality, and water flow is good with a 2.5hp pump. I was able to extend my pool season and have the family enjoy a temperature heated pool. One of the features I like the most is that you can control the heat pump from anywhere. I was able to turn it on/off when I needed and set the temperature when needed. Totally recommended.

The media could not be loaded. Living in southern New Hampshire, the pool season is short (only 2 months this summer), especially with a back yard that does not get much sun. After many years of living with just a solar collector, I learned of highly efficient electric heat pumps and decided to try the Aquastrong HEX055 (for up to 16,000 gallon pools) for our 24' round above ground pool. It was set up on 8/26/25 and after getting past some initial issues with a minor documentation error and trouble connecting with the Tuya app, it is working great and has extended the late summer pool season already by 3 weeks, despite it being a below normal late August/early September here with lows around 50 degrees at night. We have had only one day reach 80 degrees and on that day we got the pool back up to 83 degrees (it was 68 the day we started using the heat pump). The system runs quietly and cannot even be heard given the sound of the pool pump. It has a nice on-board display and it is great having the Tuya App I can access from anywhere to check or set the temperature or to modify the On/Off schedule. I have to say the support from Aquastrong was fantastic helping me through the initial minor issues I encountered. I am really looking forward to next spring and summer when we can enjoy a 4-month pool season! I have included some photos and a video showing my setup, with the output from the solar collector connected to the input of the heat pump. You should keep in mind that you may need an electrician to set up the electrical needs. I needed a new 30 amp gfci breaker and a new 30 amp circuit from the panel to the outdoor junction box.

I couldn’t be happier with my purchase of the Aquastrong pool heater! My previous pool heater had finally died on me about five years ago and I have missed it! Replacing it was not on my priority list because of the exorbitant price. I recently found the Aquastrong pool heater and it was a third of the size and a third of the price of my previous pool heater. I was skeptical at first, but when it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see the high-quality of the unit. The installation was easy, and the heating output is excellent. Controlling the unit is simple from the app on my phone. It also has three different power levels, one being economy mode which my other pool heater didn’t have. The unit is also extremely quiet. I’m looking forward to using my pool for a much longer extended season! I highly recommend the Aquastrong pool heater.

Purchasing this heat pump has been a pleasant experience. The company is very responsive to email questions both before and after the sale. The unit has worked beautifully in both cool and heat modes. Very quiet, much quieter than the pool pump. No problems after 3 months of use. Price was good. The only issues are minor: 1) it can’t accept conduit so I had to use waterproof electric cord. This might be an issue in some jurisdictions and with some electricians. 2) the case is plastic not sheet metal. I guess this is expected at this price point. The remote app does not access all internal information available at the unit itself, but it is able to adjust the temp, turn the unit on and off and switch cool/heat modes, which is really all I want it to do. I have no way of determining whether it really moves 55000 BTU but it easily cools and heats my 6800 gal pool. All in all, highly recommended.

Purchased for an ~18000 gallon pool. Works fairly well in a temperate climate. We keep the pool about 89F. Product info says it is good for pools up to 22,000 gallons, but would size up to the 100 BTU for efficiency if I bought again. We are swimming into Oct without issue in the northeast US and keeping at a steady 89-90 daily. The app leaves something to be desired. Controls are good in general. There is a timer and you can adjust the temp, which is handy. However, on multiple occasions it will somehow not actually shut off via timer and I'll have to go into the app and shut it off. Overall we've been happy with it and it performs very well. The auto setting does what it says and keeps the water in line with the set temp. Instructions are OK. I had an electrician do the 220v hookup. The panel setup is a bit ambiguous. Overall happy with the purchase. Longevity will be key to see if this is worth it at a very good price.
