  • Excellent product at an affordable price.
Size: 70,000 BTU
This heat pump pool heater is the best value that I found after lots of research. My inground pool is between 11 to 13 thousand gallons. I was initially concerned that this Fibro Heater at 55k btu might not be big enough for the job. Boy, was I wrong!! This compact sized heat pump raised the temperature in my pool from 77 degrees F, to 86° F after only 36 hours of pump runtime. I shut it and my pool pump down for 2 days during our last hurricane, but when we restarted everything the pool temp was back up to 86 after about 24 hours. The heater was easy to install and has an automatic set it and forget it operation. It’s only been in for about 2.5 weeks now so it’s still early to know how it will perform over the winter months in my part of Florida. However, if it continues to operate the way it has started out, I expect a no problem year round use of my pool. I’m delighted with this heater and it’s made here in America and will add value to my home and lifestyle going forward. I can easily recommend this Fibro Heat Pump pool heater to anyone who’s pool size and environmental factors fit within the performance parameters that this heater is designed for. I do recommend that you have this unit professionally installed. ... show more

  • Beats my old gas heater
Size: 70,000 BTU
We replaced our old gas pool heater with this FH270. Our inground pool holds 7500 gallons of water and it's late September. We have low humidity but still high temps 90-100 degrees and low nighttime temps. The unit took our 73-degree water to 86 in a couple days, now water temps in the morning start at 81 degrees and rises to 86 in about 4 hours. It'll only get better when I figure out that our pool will only heat to the ambient outside temps. So instead of firing the unit up at 9a to swim by 2p, I'm starting the process later at 11a when temp is higher. That should result in a much shorter period to warm the water. The unit only runs when the pump is on, and water temp is under 84 degrees. It automatically turns off after the desired water temp hits 86. Fibro pool customer service is the best I've ever had with anything! Unit came slightly damaged since it was shipped from Missouri to California, but everything was made right by Fibro pool. They're available to answer questions about installation or anything. I'm very happy with our new pool heater and Fibro Pool. I rarely write reviews fyi. ... show more

  • Great first impressions Great first impressions
Size: 70,000 BTU
So far I’m really impressed with this unit. Delivery was fast and the heater was packed well with a lot of foam padding and came completely undamaged. Setting the unit up was easy, it took me just a couple hours to do everything including driving the 8’ grounding rod, hopefully you already have one! Electrical was simple 3 wires inside the unit and connecting a dual 20A breaker in the sub box. The heater comes with a drain plug, hose for the plug, 2x 1.5” pipe connectors, vibration pads for the feet. There are some extra items that you will need to buy besides any Sced40 PVC pipe and fittings… Dual 20A breaker……$15 2 16x16x4 concrete blocks if no pad is present…$12 Grounding rod if not present… $16 Grounding clamp and wire…$5 Flexible conduit with 12awg wire …$36 1.5”-2” 3 way valve … $35 Once everything was connected, I started the pump, let it run all the air out, flipped on the breaker and everything started working! The system is surprisingly quiet, and supposedly set and forget, when the flow detector senses that the pump has shut off it should turn off the unit. And as a final plus, FibroPool is made in USA!! UPDATE - We are on the second season of running the heater and I am very satisfied! I knew this wasn’t going to be a year round heater, but it has added several months on to our swim season. When I turned it on this spring in central Florida the daytime highs were in the 70’s and the lows were in the 50’s. It took about 4 days to bring the water temp from 65 degrees to 85 . We have a solar blanket to keep the heat in at night. For the price this is an excellent unit and I highly recommend it!! ... show more

  • Installation requires an electrician. Unit gives great results.
Size: 70,000 BTU
I was very skeptical about ordering a pool heater online. But when I did all of my research against different types of heaters (Electrical, Natural Gas, Heat Pump) I kept turning up good comments about this unit. It came delivered by freight company on a wooden pallet. Upon opening the unit I realized I needed an electrician to run the proper connection for the unit as it requires a hard-line and doesn't have a plug. The electricians also commented it would have been nicer if the inlet for the unit was on the opposite side of the water outlets so the cable routing would make sense. Other than that, this is a very quiet unit. Typical air-conditioner level sound. It only took 2 days to get our pool up to 84 degrees and now helps the pool recover from a nightly 10 degree loss in about 3-4 few hours. Twice I've had some weird behavior of the unit after power failures, but rebooting the unit seemed to clear those errors. ... show more

  • WARNING!!!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER WARNING!!!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER
Size: 70,000 BTU
I tried to wait till this was resolved before leavining feed back. The unit will not heat 15k gallon pool as the description suggested. I had a technician confirm the unit was defective. One of the sensor wires broke off. I received no troubling assistance from the seller. So i returned the unit. The sell will not cover the return shipmenting cost. If you don't have a freight account with fedex it will be very expensive. It is $2550 dollars to ship it back. Amazon A-to-Z agreed to pay for the return shipment as long as the unit was defective. Which i have in writing from Amazon. I attached the photo of the defective sensor. I submitted the fedex receipt to Amazon A -to -Z and now they are telling me that they won't reimburse me. Total fruad!!! The seller has a fedex freight account which would of been way cheaper to return the item. I did receive the original purchase refund because thebunit was defective but the shipping is $2550, and I now have to fight for the shipping reimbursement. I will be seaking legal action. DO NOT BUY FROM THOS SELLER!!!!!! ... show more

  • So far I'm impressed...
Size: 70,000 BTU
Just bought this (5/31) for a 24ft above ground pool in Wisconsin. I don't plan for this to be used to try and create a swimmable pool in early spring or late fall, rather to supplement the solar cover for general use between May-September and so far I'm impressed. In terms of installation, its all pretty straight forward if your comfortable with PVC plumbing and electrical work. The unit is quite heavy to maneuver into place, so definitely have an extra set of hands. They appear to have upgraded the water inlet/output connectors from what is referenced in the manual and YT video, which is good, its a threaded coupling with 1.5" threaded side for the unit and a 1.5" slip fit on the opposing side to easily plumb in. I'm not going to get into the electrical aspects as that's sort of its own thing, but suffice to say, if you figured out how to run the needed breaker for this, then connecting the actual unit is not difficult. We've been running the unit for about 8 hours a day in conjunction with our pool pump/filter and it tends to lift the temperature about 8 degrees over that period of time. On a 60 degree day, it lifted the incoming water temp from 72 to 77 degrees over the course of the day, thus I'm quite impressed. I don't see this having any issue elevating the water temp easily into the 80's on a warmer 70+ degree day. I have yet to see an electric bill come in, so we'll see what the damage is from that aspect, but considering I didn't want to invest in all the costs for a gas heater, this has performed very well against my expectations thus far. I'll try to remember to update in a couple weeks as we have more time with the unit. ... show more

  • Works great!
Size: 70,000 BTU
I live in northern Alabama and over the years we’ve expanded the house and trees have grown taller and wider. I get 3-5 hrs of direct sun on my pool daily. If I get several really hot days 90• in a row I might get my water temp to 82•. I purchased this middle of August, it took less than 22 hrs to move temp from 79-84• and holds it perfectly. daily temps have been 75-88 , dropping to mid 60s at night. I had friends coming over and wanted to warm it up a bit more, heater raised temp 2degrees in about 4 hrs. Pool is 21’x4.5’ above ground. I plan on using my pool through October. Can’t tell you how much electric it uses, but it can’t be much if you keep it at the same temp. Love my pool again with the warmer water, ... show more

  • Great heater! Great heater!
Size: 70,000 BTU
TL;DR This is a powerful, simple pool heater. It takes a few days to get to temperature mid-spring but then holds it easily. I never have to touch the settings after setting the temperature on day one. I love this thing and it's gotten me daily use of the pool I couldn't use at all in a cold June last year. A couple of important notes here: I bought this heater oversized for my 8,000 gallon above-ground pool to get more use out of it in upstate NY, where tall trees shade the pool and keep it colder. First: All you need to do is connect it and set the temperature for the water. Otherwise, no need to mess with the settings! It will run when your pump is running and shut off automatically when it's not. Second: If your pool water isn't getting hot it's probably a flow issue. Keep your filter and water returns clean. Low pump flow will make it hard to get enough water through to keep the water warm. ... show more
