  • Works awesome!
Color: coffee-5000gals max
Don't know why Amazon has it as frequently returned but here in North Florida is work great. Instead of hoses I ran PVC. 1 and 1/4 adapter works for the in and out port connectors with 1 and 1/4 in PVC and 2 1 and 1/4 slip joint x slip joint so I would be able to disconnect the entire pump if needed for servicing. Then I did not put a shut of valve on the output instead I used a one way check valve. It's a heater not a pump so you want thing flowing on one direction. Also put a bypass in between the in and out. Note you will get error E06 meaning no flow detected if there is no bypass. It is needed to create the imbalance mine was mostly closed which allows it to flow. See pics, my pies cross over only because of the flow direction and the output needed to be connected after the input. I have a 0.75 HP pump connected to my aboveground pool and by the way this is a 18 foot and 48. Temps gets up to 83 when ambient temp is below 70. Stays around 80 F overnight then by lunchtime it's back upto 83. Yes took a few days to get going maybe 48 hours. Some reviews complain about the pump and filter being on but we leave ours on anyways. All and all a good buy if you know what you are doing. ... show more

  • Great heater for warm weather
This is a heat pump. If you searched it enough you have figured this our so the temperature in the ambiant needs to be more than the what you expect the water to be. I am not willing to spend thousands in now connections to heat a cheap above ground pool but the water is my happy place and i plan on having a pool in one way or another every year. I live in Tacoma, WA where the temps drops at night and this pumps managed to heat a 14 foot round 42 inches deeps pool by 7 degree in a day that started pretty cold, so I will take this as a win. The amount of energy to heat this pool to 77-80 degrees will be nominal and I will be night swimming most nights. Costumer service was readily availability for questions and i hope this will serve our fam for a few years to come! It is an investment but if you intend to have a pool in a cooler climate and want to heat it up without much hassle this is what you are looking for. ... show more

  • Paper weight!
Unit was very easy to install and was hooked up in a matter of minutes. It’s been running for three days and has a raise the water temperature one single degree. I’m supplying 82° preheated water, and it still hasn’t raise the temperature. Furthermore, I tried to contact customer service and there is none. Amazon said they couldn’t give me the contact information and would send a message on my behalf. Still haven’t heard back from them. I’ll be returning this piece of crap especially since they don’t even have any customer support for the product first and last purchase. ... show more

  • Works for my Intex Pool
I bought the EU50 heater for my 12' x 30" Intex pool. When I received the unit it didnt turn on. Reached out to customer service and they said it was due to a faulty plug which they promptly sent. All in all I had to wait about 4 days for the plug. It was easy to replace and the unit works well now. We are in NY and its late August. Temps are barely hitting 80 anymore and its in the 60s at nite. The unit easily heats up this little pool but will take up to 10 hours to bring it from 78 to 90. A few things to note and the reason why Im not giving this 5 stars: 1) The faulty Plug of course. 2) The unit shows the temperature of the water flowing through the unit which appears to always be 3-4 degrees warmer than the pool temp. So when setting a target temp, I set the target to 94 and it reaches 91. 2) The unit only runs if the pump is running. So, expect to run your filter all day long and all night long in certain cases. We have a small pump that puts 530 gph. Next year we plan to buy a bigger pool (15' x 42") and I expect this until to work just as well. The bigger pool comes with a bigger filter (1k gph). The unit is rated to handle this size pool as well as a 1k GPH filter but I will keep the 530 GPH filter around in case I need to run the water through the heater slower. One last thing to note. The unit is very easy to setup. It plugs into a normal outdoor GFI outlet. I only needed to buy one additional hose to attach the unit to the pool and existing filter. It works with the same size hoses that came with my Intex pool. I purchased an extra hose at a local Pool supply store for 20$. All in all Im very happy with this heater and I have basically stopped using my solar cover (blue thing with the bubbles). Make sure you do have a cover to keep the heat in while heating. I use a black cover with silver lining on the inside. I think its considered a solar cover but it secures around the entire edge of the pool so its not a floating cover. ... show more

  • USED NOT NEW but I'm impressed anyway.
Product was a USED, RETURNED product. 7/6/23 I am revising my review and adding a star. Despite the fact that they sent a returned heat pump I am pleased with the product so far. I have an 18ft round ABG pool located in Northern Indiana. Temperatures here have a range between 63 at night and as high as 85 during the day in June and July. I've owned this pool for 10 years and it's NEVER been so consistently warm. I resently heated the pool to 90° for a nighttime party! We've had a lot of cool, rainy, cloudy days but the pool temp is a consistent 87°. I use a pool blanket overnight to minimize heat loss and crank up the pump first thing in the morning. Swimming at night is heaven. Doesn't matter if it's 65° outside. Setting it up was fairly straightforward. Try to locate your hoses away from the pump fan so that they don't get cold air blown on them. My current setup forced me to insulate my hoses which really improved the heating process. The initial pool temperature was 76°, after 3 days in cool rainy weather we reached 82°. A week later we were set at a comfy 87°. If you want the pump to continuously heat set your Thermometer temp AT LEAST 3 degrees above your target temp. The key is consistency. I think that my pool is a bit too big for this pump but it's still doing a fine job. A must for die hard pool bums.🏖️ ... show more
