Well, so far we are pleased with this pool heater. Only had it a month, but so far no issues and does great at heating our pool up. We have a 10x16x42” Coleman pool. We did upgrade it to a sand filter pump and added a skimmer. This heater was the finishing touch to make it enjoyable. Our pool stays around 89-90 degrees, with use of a solar cover, which is recommended. Keeps the heat from leaving through the night.

I was reluctant to try this heat pump after trying everything else to heat my above ground pool but boy was I surprised. In 2 days, pool went from 68 to 82 degrees and energy use isn't bad. One tip, get a pump or throttle down existing pump to around 1000-1500 gph. Anything around 600 gph or lower will throw a low flow error, anything higher doesn't seem to transfer heat efficiently.

The EU50 has an advised flow rate of 500-1000GPH. I had an INTEX C530 that came with our 2500 gallon 12ft pool (so toward the bottom of that range). It worked ok with the EU50. It took a few days to get up to temperature as expected, but if I ever left it overnight without the cover it would lose quite a bit of heat - as much as 5-7 degrees. In addition to that, the EU50 would get error code 6 (indicating inadequate flow rate) and stop operating whenever the filter got a little bit dirty and had its flow rate reduced. I was having to clean the filter daily just from the pollen. Since the C530 was at the bottom of the advisable range, I decided to get an INTEX C1000. It made a world of difference! Now the EU50 can keep the temperature stable even if I forget to put the cover on for a night. And I haven't seen error code 6 a single time from the filter getting too clogged. I'm really happy with the EU50 - the pool is always at a comfortable temperature even when it's cold outside. If you end up getting this heater - even if you already have a pump in the advisable range, I'd recommend buying a new pump toward the high end of the range.

It's awesome it heats up the pool overnight. Like if we know it's going be 90 on Fri we can get the pool up to 85 in 10 hours. The price is really great we have been looking for pool heater for years. I am glad we waited we are really happy with this purchase
