Great filter, but very strong flow for a 20-gallon tank

Had this filter on my 20-gallon tank for a little over a month now, and overall Its great. It was easy to install, runs super quiet, and I noticed a difference in the water quality within 24 hours. It has done a great job keeping the tank clean, and so far I’ve been really happy with it. However... if you have a 20-gallon tank with smaller fish, just be warned: this filter output is strong! Remember that scene in Finding Nemo when they hit the East Australian Current on the way to Sydney? Yeah... that’s basically what my fish looked like they were preparing for. Even with the air valve closed all the way, the flow was still a lot for a smaller tank. I ended up adding a sponge to the end, which helped tone the current down quite a bit. So overall, I do think it’s a great filter with some additional adjustments, but personally I think it’s a little too powerful for a 20-gallon unless your fish enjoy extreme sports.

Very Impressive!

I am thoroughly impressed! We had a giant double sided filter from pet smart (supposedly for up to 100 gallons and this tank is 60) that wasnt doing anything, the tank was so cloudy, we bought this tiny underwater one after I read reviews about how well it worked and within 4 days of putting it in the water is crystal clear! We still have a small filter running above water that we carried over from our small tank when the big pet smart one was failing but this little filter is amazing!!!!!!!!!

No Product Support. Lasted 4 months.

The pump was great until it wasn't. It lasted about 4 months. I then tried to contact Tararium for the 180 day product support stated on the Amazon site. First, I could find no contact information on the Amazon product page. Then I tried the Amazon vendor page with no luck. Then I went to the Tararium web site and found both an email address and a phone number the Support. First I sent and email. It was returned with the following message: The response from the remote server was: 550 relay not permitted Remote server is misconfigured. Okay, I called the support number. It was answered, but the answering recording was not in English. Thinking I might have misdialed I tried again about 15 minutes later and the call was answered by someone but that person evidently did not speak English. So, I have a non-working device which I tried to get product support on well within the 180 product support time period but for which I can get no support. Summary: The product worked great for a short time. If you are okay with taking a chance I say go for it. Your mileage may vary.

Clears up the greenest tank in less than 36 hours

The aquarium filter with UV light w/timer is just what I needed my 30 gal.the design makes it Easily cleaned, it's super quiet. My Tank would not clear up from the algae we would change the water & within a day it was starting to cloud up 2nd day you couldn't see the back of the tank or any of the fish, within 24 hrs of putting this filter in it was starting to clear up 36 hours it was almost crystal clear, more research conclusion was the light being on way to long, and excess food for those problems under control & the water is crystal clear. It's made for 20- 50 or 70 gallon it's got a strong output of water the big fish like the challenge, the little fish get pushed around when they get 8-10" of the outlet so might be a little bigfor my tank but other than that it's a superb filter pump combo

Works amazing until it doesn't

I loved this filter while it worked. Very quiet and effective with clear water and minimal filter changes. However, the first one lasted less than a year so I ordered a new one from the same company. The second one was used and dirty but packaged nicely in a new box. I am very disappointed and my poor fish are still waiting for better water quality.

Absolutely wonderful!! I was having to change out our fishtanks water once a week cause it would get so green. Our tap water is full of chemicals so we were purchasing drinking water for them! This filter made the water clear up in just 2 days! Completely satisfied!!!
